- After Paul Giamatti talks about his portrayal of Chuck Rhoades in Billions, which included a dive into the S&M world and a passionate rant in Italian, a language he does not speak, James challenges Paul and Michael Sheen to have an argument in languages neither of them speak, and things escalate quickly. And Reggie has a question for Paul and Michael.

The fact that Michael was genuinely just saying portions of "llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch" gives me so much joy.
“GOCHGOCHGOCH”
touching words from Michael Sheen everyone
It's the ending of a known long 23 letters town (changed it's name into that-for sake of tourism). I think it means 'red-red'
gogogoch
It's actually "-gogogoch" meaning "red cave", from the town name Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (second-longest in the world). He also says "Llanfair PG" at one point, which is a common short-form way of saying the town name.
that's pipes no repeats really got it didn't it. "ahh." "eternal life life everlasting"
I guess I am quite randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to stream new tv shows online?
imagine though you're a masochist visiting your dominatrix, and she asks you "btw Is it ok if an actor asks you some questions for researching a role" and you're like "Uhm, ok", and in comes Paul Giamatti
Did Michael just say that entire Welsh village name but just in short portions...?
yes lol
one the one hand, it's kind of cheating :D on the other, wild how there's a single word that could be sliced into enough parts to cover an entire made up argument haha
Yes
Yes. Unfair advantage.
Micheal Sheen:
adsfghjkljhgfdaqGOGOGO
ME: alrighty then
Oh well, guess we can't all be intellectual strong enough to realise not all languages pronounce and use the letters of the Phonecian alphabet the same way.
Y and W are vowels in Cymraeg, not difficult to understand at all.
@@taffyducks544 The 'y' & 'e' in words are the hardest to figure out, they sound the same to me inside a word.
Michael Sheen is a fine man 👨
he is a cuddly teddy bear
He is.I've been a fan for...sixteen years, now. He's intelligent,he's funny, not afraid to be silly, his exes still both like and love him and he feels the same for them, which is hugely awesome,he adores his daughter and she adores him...he is indeed a fine man.
I like his ex wife more. :)
@@Uouttooo lmao
@@Uouttooo He never been married.
Two great character actors in the same interview. I love this show.
3:00 to 3:07 sheen’s smile😻😻
Good lord, Giamatti is turning into Richard Dreyfuss.
Victor Kong Except not coo-coo-crazy.
Lol
Except Giamatti plays characters with a calm demeanor but on the verge of rage, and Dreyfus' characters are 95% manic with no end in sight. Look similar today, but mood-wise on opposite ends of the spectrum.
That was exactly my thought!!! XD
They're actually really good friends, and Dreyfuss is a huge Civil war buff, but he met Paul and said I know nothing compared to him, High praise
Michael was just trying to pronounce that Welsh Town.
THAT SMALL FLUSTERED GIGGLE AT 3:03 OML IM IN LOVE
I love Michael so much omg
The non verbal communication and " energy" of the interaction is easily understood.Even if they didn't say anything.
Billions is one of the best shows on TV, hands down. Absolutely amazing.
The "gochgochgoch" got me lmaoo
Both of them are two of my favourite actors.
Michael spoke italian in Twilight!!! Probably he is trying to forget those movies XD
Considering other things he did- I DON'T THINK SO 😂
Actually, he got kinda upset when people talked negatively of the Twilight saga, or at least that's what he told in the podcast with David Tennant.
@@bexthalia1761 He was being a gentleman, also it was a big 'young people' franchise - rarely will you hear actors talking badly on past projects as it might hurt theirs future employment. He was playing a silly, crazy, baddie- wigs & red contact lenses, must have fun & less 'serious acting'.
@@einat1622 I think he wasn't being just ''a gentleman'' honestly, if you go and listen to the podcast he sounds really sincere and he says that he included Neil Gaiman when answering the bad questions about Twilight to make a point on how we shouldn't discriminate (and that's how they became friends lol). I'm not a fan of that franchise tbh, but he was right in what he was saying. And to assume he intended otherwise, I mean, we don't know him lol
@@bexthalia1761 Or maybe thats good acting right there :-) I think it sounded like that because he found the 'truth angle' in that story- he enjoyed playing this crazy character with those outfits thathe wasn't talking about the franchise.
I second James statement two of the most prolific actors we still get to enjoy today! 🙏🏼🎬🎭
I did the “have a conversation in an imaginary language” exercise as part of auditioning for a part in college. It’s not actually that hard to do. And kind of fun, actually.
Gus Smedstad True. Bet let's just say it's another level of fun with Paul and Michael.
The thumbnail picture looks like they're doing some reeeeeaaaal intense object work.
I have really bad anxiety at the moment and James Corden as background noise is comforting ☺
Maybe it's just me but there's a difference in American actor's on talk shows here in the UK . They seam more chattier and relaxed or do we get them Drunk.
Probably both
Graham Norton certainly gives them a drink
It because British talk show hosts (for the most part)’actually let their guests speak and aren’t threatened by them getting big laughs. So many of the US hosts have to always be the funniest. I saw an episode of Kimmel with Emilia Clarke and he was so focused on trying to be funny he missed something she said that got a HUgE audience reaction (final season of episode 5 was better than 3, after 3 had aired). He literally said “what did you say?” Which basically admitted he wasn’t listening to her. So annoying. Another thing Brit shows do is allow all guests out together and then things like this can happen. It’s amazing to see the chemistry that can happen between actors spontaneously. The last American host to do that was Carson. He was also a host who enjoyed his guests and got as much of a laugh from them as the crowd did. That’s is why I love Graham Norton. He encourages his guests to tell crazy stories and then laughs uproariously at them.
Actors. drunk.
I have noticed that. You guys tend to have them more at ease and there are usually more to a couch so there's more interaction ... plus alcohol
Entertainment at its finest! Well done
two of my favorite actors ❤ well, three actually. 😊
This was so enjoyable to watch!
That was so convincing😂😂🤣
The Italian swearing in Billions was really good... A bit baroque and old fashioned but real not the usual Godfather crap
Your Russian sounds Klingon, Paul... XD
I've had this discussion before, the Klingon are basically Russians lol
Love Paul! He is amazing actor and fun person, cool interview
I love you're videos!
I just noticed Corden's new haircut and it's 🔥
An interesting fact is that Paul Giamatti’s father was a Yale professor who later became Yale’s president. Paul himself got his B.A. and M. F.A from Yale.
Fun fact: He also was Commissioner of Major League Baseball.
I'm starting to feel like Steven Spielberg after coming out of Lawrence of Arabia watching these two phenomenal actors through out the years. The bar is just set that high for guys like myself.
Michael Sheen doesn't speak Welsh? I thought he did...
A lot of Welsh people cant speak Welsh it's a dying language:(
@@colehodgman9248 Actually, the number of people speaking it (whatever level, 1st or 2nd language) has been on the rise that last 20 years. It's far from dying, since you have native 1st speakers. Irish & Scottish are in a worse condition I think. Also, when a Welsh person say 'I don't speak' it might not be a clear case: as the schools teaches you the language, and then stops- so if they don't use it- they forget. For someone like that to go back & learn as an adult is easier to be fluent in under a year (Michael might at the casp, in terms of age, when the welsh goverment started this schools reform).
@@colehodgman9248 not really dying, at least from what I've seen so far.
Maybe he means he doesn't speak it fluently but just a little bit?
james is right , 2 of the best actors on the planet and more importantly top men too
Giamatti: **attempts russian**
Michael: GO GO GOCH!!
Giamatti: _okay you won-_
Michael: GO GO GOCH!!
Michael is my fav actor but I love both! They're too precious
Wow!!! Two of the best actors I know!
I know I've seen Paul Giamatti in other films but for whatever reason, when he played Jerry Heller in Straight Outta Compton just really stuck out, the whole cast of that film were brilliant!
These guys are great!
like arguing in the sims😂
James, I hope you are doing something for the Yankees/Boston games that are taking place in London this weekend!!
Amazing! 😂😂😂
Amazing
Aaaahhh the language of love
.... 💕💋💘💋💞
First saw him in the negotiator, good film
Michael is adorable.
" I'm huge in Spain!" Lol. Just another reason to like Paul Giamatti.
So love Paul! My celebrity crush!
1:52 My first thought is Temple Grandin.
Died on Michael s reaction on 3:03 : c
Cordon totally mimicking Graham Norton's format, here 😄
2:12 Yep, sounds like subspace
underrated actors
I always thought Michael Sheen could speak Welsh!
.He knows some colloquialisms,I guess. The Welsh national anthem. That v-e-r-y long name, the short form of which is Llanfair. But it isn't all that common for Welsh people to actually speak Welsh.
Why is Michael Sheen like thissss i almost died
He my favorite actor
late to the party but i had my speakers on for this video and i did not expect the gogogoch from michael smh
Giamatti what a great actor
Michael Sheen needs to have more real-life characters than fancy sci-fi roles. I like him, but I'd also like to see him pathing new trails.
He does! He's been Brian Clough, Kenneth Williams, Tony Blair 3x, Bill Masters, Nero, Robbie Ross... Meanwhile his fantasy cred are Lucian, Aro, Castor/Zuse, Aziraphale.
@@rubyanjel Also David Frost and Chris Tarrantz
I like "pathing new trails."
Yes it is
Aziraphale vibes 💙💙
It is so weird to see chuck sitting so relaxed like that
Since fred claus .. paul giamatti aged like a three term president.
Paul is one of my favorite actors. He was great in the Illusionist.
Was never a big fan of Corden when he did League of Their Own, he's won me over with his Late Late Show though
enjoy both these men ...giamatti is underrated ......
Sorry, that sounded more like klingon. :D
GO GO GO
This is such a funny show
💕💕💕
Michael sheen good omens 😈😇❤️👍
Subtitles are hilarious.
The words which Michael sheen spoke at the end which ends with
“Gogogoch”
Is a welsh town with the longest town in wales
P.s it is not funny
Maybe it is
Yeah it is.
Gogogoch
Paul Giamatti sounded to me more like speaking Klingon. :-)
Thanks, Michael, for refusing to treat Russian like placeholder gibberish the way they do in Hollywood
I am russian and Paul Giamatti made it sound very Russian.Amazing!
I would really love a better portrayal about the soul of BDSM and it's... hmm.... "subcultures" than what I heard about 50 shades... even for Therapists.. you're still a sick freak.... but the depth of communication and connection... the work that goes into such a relationship... the trust, that has to be earned...
safe, sane, consensual.
Isn’t BDSM just a fetish?
@@LelaosXVI maybe spend some time with google.. the internet is full of information. ;)
I love how Paul describes being tied up...the feeling of comfort he got...that's called sub space ( as in submissive)...and it's what the experience is striving to be for some people. Also after the ropes are removed people can expect a feeling of a let down called sub drop...and it can be very emotional and that's why its important to be with someone you trust and who knows what they're doing, not to mention the safety of useing rope in a play type setting...so please people educate yourself first before doing any thing with ropes.
So did either of them accidentally say any real words?
Aro!!!
Lady in the water
Dr. Phil vibe.
So disappointed to hear Micheal sheen doesn't speak Welsh
Chuck Rhoades in London
To all Welsh actors. Stop playing upto the ignorance of these people and tell them it's a god damn Sentence, and not a single word.
W and Y are vowels.
The town name, I don't think he was saying that one (?) Just the ending of it.
@@einat1622 Llan-vair-Pwll-Gwyn-Gyll-gogery-Chwyndrobo-Llan-Tysilio-gogoGoch is the name of that town! Btw, it's easy to say once yous see it as a sentence and not a single word. People try to rush it's pronouncition if they see it a single word. Why don't you try it?! 😉
@@cheyennebrennan966 hahahaha, love it. I find it so easy, Welsh born, but to an English speaking household. And I've seen Taron 's interview 😉
@@cheyennebrennan966 but it isn't gibberish. Hence why I broke it down in segments. Say em slowly and separately over and over. And your mind will be trained to eventually say it as it's meant to be said, as a sentence. Learning its translation in English and Remembering that is far more difficult. Imo anyway.
Is Paul Giamatti playing Chef John in Food Wishes: The Movie?
Sounded like they were sims when they fake argued
Giamattis fake Russian was so good.
Paul Giamatti and Michael Sheen, just wow......
Rofl!!! 😂😂😂
Hi
