I miss the School of Music, My dad worked there in the 70's. Spent some good quality time with instuctors and students.

The Navy has a School of Music? I had no idea. Who attends this?

The Marine band, the Navy band, and Army band. They play during parades, concerts and traditional stuff. Yes, its an actual legitimate job in the military. Yes, they still go through boot camp like everyone else.

For the Marine Corps and Navy, the Basic Course at SOM is 6 months long, and is worth college credit.

@@cozyjosey1709 Congrats! What instrument? And yes, I just checked and I officially got 11 recognized semester hours of credit from the SOM. You also get about 9 hours of college credit from recruit training and MCT. You'll most likely only be able to use those credits to take less elective courses at a community college (as I did), but ever little bit helps!

@@Joshjames1234 I play the flute and piccolo. One question I have is, how do you think a recent high school graduate (like myself) with no college experience, fair in the school of music? Like what is the average difficulty of music over there?
