- Advanced Fire FIghting training (AFF) at PT. Samson Tiara. These are just some of the exercises carried out by students on their last day of AFF training.
This course is designed to train both offshore and onshore fire fighters with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively respond to a fire. The classroom sessions cover basic fire theory, fire suppression equipment, personnel protective equipment (incl. SCBA), extinguishing agents, application of foam, water & twin agent and fire fighting tactics. Also casualty recovery and related equipment is covered.
Practical exercises include fighting multiple fires (Class A, B and C) with fire teams using hose lines (water & foam) and SCBA. Fire props include pans with and without obstacles, paint lockers, LPG impinging jets & XMAS tree, leaking flanges and large diameter hydrocarbon storage tank. For SCBA search & rescue exercises, our state-of-the-art 3 story smoke-house is utilized.

"Advanced Fire Fighting" Adjusting the flow of water from a Straight Stream to a Wide Fog. Then, practicing to be a Fountain Statue while foaming an oil tank.
Advancing techniques ,on how to minimise the gas leak , by shutting the valve using wide fog by both teams moving simultaneously on a counting move.

While B class fire we use to say for liquid it may be petrol, oil, paint etc the dry chemical powered is best extinguish well as after extinguish by the help of hydrant the extinguish area can be sweep by hydrant water pressure or avoiding ignition.
And they didnt even need air packs! Well done!

Is this really advanced? It looks like FF1 standard....to the reason why two hoses this is simulating something more than just burning out a candle, you have to get control of the gas and shut it off...that's what the guy in the center is for?

Wouldn't it be much easier and more effective to use hose with greater water flow and just try to cut off the flame? If I am correct it is gas that is burning! Sorry for poor English!
To cool down the smoke and gas (which is whats burning) you need to spray it wide, and it's also for protection. They don't have BA's so a wiff of those gases can mean cancer or CO poisening
