    Can the heated seats plug go straight into the e46 seats ?

    • @bimmer7guy
      @bimmer7guy  Год назад +4

      The heated seat plug on the e46 is in with multiple wires depending on features or what not
      You would need to depin three wires from each seat on the e46 seats plug you will also need the 3 pin heated seat plug from the e36 seats
      Drivers seat depin the 18 gauge white/green wire the 12 gauge brown wire and the 12 gauge green/purple wire
      Pass seat you will depin the 18 gauge white/blue wire the 12 gauge brown wire and the 12 gauge green/yellow wire
      You will then wire them up to the e36 pigtail for a plug and play

      I notice my E36 has just x2 wires on each plug [there are x2 plugs for each seat] Can I just cut one of the E36 plugs off and then splice the x2 [one red one white with a stripe] wires onto the E46 cable [the two thickest wires I believe are for heat] with the E46 seat plug at the end if I only care about having heat?@@bimmer7guy

    Eh I feel like all e36s with age and wear look exactly like this, mine sure does lol. Its to the point where a semi gutted interior would look more visually appealing

    I got a question. Are the seats centered in the car properly compared to steering wheel?

      @@bimmer7guy Not to be annoying, but could you possible take a picture from the center of the seat, towards the steering wheel and send it to my email?

    Hey brother, do you know if sedan e46 seats fit in coupe/vert e36? Sedans are a lot more common where I’m from so it’ll be easier + cheaper for me to source those seats

    • @bimmer7guy
      @bimmer7guy  Год назад

      Yes they do fit aswell
      Just follow video for install
      It is very similar
      Even easier really because you dont need to attach the belt to the seat

    great video and I was praying you would not drop that heavy seat on your toes! Eye protection and hand protection, good advice, and protect those toes as well dude. Im about to do the same job, Im going to try filing those holes a bit bigger rather than drill them I think, it looks like they don't have to be enlarged by much.

    • @bimmer7guy
      @bimmer7guy  6 лет назад +1

      Haha thanks
      It's an easy job they dont need to enlarge by much just a little bit
      the drill bit I used if you choose to drill them was 1/2 inch
      Good luck with the install :)

    I need to drill the right side 😅 off the passenger seat go inside otherwise it won't fit but you show that you only have to drill at the back only the front it doesn't quite fit either

    • @bimmer7guy
      @bimmer7guy  2 года назад

      You need to drill from the back mounting bolt holes forward towards the front of the seat (this does apply to both rear mounting bolt holes on each seat)
      The front bolt do not need to be drilled and fit perfectly
      Keep in mind this is for e46 seats only (to install in e36) and does not apply to other series seats

      @@bimmer7guy the front fits, behind I notice that it also has to go inside and not just to the front. did you use rings for the rear bolts, I also notice that there is still too much space between them.

    128 bmw seats into e36

    • @bimmer7guy
      @bimmer7guy  3 года назад +1

      Hey
      So if you are trying to put 128i seats in your e36
      I can tell you it is not as simple as putting these in but can be done
      You need to make an adapter bracket for them to bolt (for each seat[outer side] this would be like left seat needs bracket on left side right seat needs bracket on right side) and have to dremel down the back bolt hole on inner bracket to get mounted the only hole you have to start with is the top hole on the inner part of seat bracket
