My favorite scene is early in the video when mother is holding her baby and she has her hand on her head..she looks away and when she looks back the sun shines on her eyes..and for a small moment I could feel/see what Jane Goodall must see. Deep unimaginable beauty.💞

Since I'm an Animal Lawyer who specializes in protecting primates here in the states I've come to really love this family of Momotaro and Genki. I have seen baby pictures of her and she is still a pretty lady and I've always said on different channels that "Genki is the matriarch of all matriarchs"
Many favorite scenes...Momotaro wrestling Gentaro and allowing him to chase him, hugs of sins and Mom, lab personnel playing or being affection to gorillas.
Not for a good while yet. Gorillas can live to 60 years old in captivity. So lots more time to enjoy this magnificent family! (Momo is 20, Genki 34, Gentaro 9, Kintaro 2.)
Beautiful creatures. It made me wonder what evolution will make of them in years to come...perhaps a more peaceful version of human beings? The other thought I had was "How do they manage to have a better tyre to play with than I have on my car?" Haha

Most zoos show them videos, you just don't get to see it. Before Genki came to Kyoto she was shown many videos of male gorillas, she indicated Momotaro was the one she liked.

I believe that there is something wrong with Genki because she holds her head very often almost like she suffers from headaches or something. I really think the zoo keepers should look into that and gave her check by a zoo doctor.
Go do research first before asking. It is normal and something she's done her whole life for some reason. Seems to be when it's cold but in general she just does it. She's fine

Favorite Animals: isn't there anything you can do to get some help for Genki? The majority of the time when I see a video of this family she is holding her head. She suffers from something or some sort of pain in her head. Could you please alert the authorities about this? It could save her life.
