-Game Description
Borderlands 2 is a 2012 action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Taking place five years following the events of Borderlands (2009), the game is again set on the planet of Pandora. The story follows a new group of Vault Hunters who must ally with the Crimson Raiders, a resistance group made up of civilian survivors and guerrilla fighters, to defeat the tyrannical Handsome Jack before he can unlock the power of a new Vault. The game features the ability to explore the in-game world and complete main missions and optional side quests, either in offline split screen, single-player or online cooperative gameplay. Like its predecessor, the game features a procedurally generated loot system which is capable of generating numerous combinations of weapons and other gear.
This is the part of the description where I put a bunch of keywords to get recommended to more people.

Yes, it is 50 minutes long.
And I'll be watching all of it 🤙
It was a masterpiece, thank you for this amazing video!
Love it got something to listen to while working ❤
Amazing 👍
Yeah I can read
BL2 has a great modding community as well that has revitalized and reinvigorated my love for this game! can't believe its over 11 years old now and I'm still playing
Sucks for us console cunts
True I cant even play this game without all the qol mods im using i need them.
Exodus overhaul is the definitive way to play bl2 imo
Ffylands is basically all I play now
I just got back into playing bl2. I’m so glad there’s still a community of folks that still care about such peak gaming
Honestly, your videos are amazing. I’d love to have you review a game my studio makes one day.
SUPERB job on this. Thank-you!
i think it is also important to know that Borderlands 2 was able to have a far larger budget than could have been done normally, because gearbox were basically funneling funds from another game they were set to produce, Aliens: colonial Marines.
Just started playing again with one of my buddies. Such an amazing game and a blast from the past
Whitelight brought me here, and I love me a good video essay, time to enjoy this!
Hope you enjoy!
Even after 4 playthroughs of this game, I never did finish the Hammerlock DLC. The other 3 were fantastic, which makes me wonder if maybe they outsourced this one to another studio? 😮💨
Yeah, the first 3 dlcs were outsourced to different companies, this one being the least appealing to most people (myself included). I give kudos to the devs for at least adding content to the game though, albeit it’s lack of quality & polish.
Wow, Brambini, you really outdid yourself with this retrospective. I mean, 50 minutes? That’s longer than my gametime on borderland 2 !
LMFAO
Bruh go play it.
The flamerock refuge ambient music is just the best. The composers and engineers are absolutely top tier, in my opinion. I love this game. It's the best bang for the buck that you'll ever see in the game industry, well as far as looter shooters go.
Real and true, Flamerock Ambient is top 10 tracks in this game
one of the best games of all time, and gearbox themselves will never be able to surpass it
honestly such a distinct way to tackle (what feels like) a monolith of a game and focusing in on its outcomes of its release and its contents. I feel like if you talked about the community it would have been bloated so this was very well crafted. I give it 9/10 claptraps (i wanted you to attend his birthday in the video lol)
Undeniably goated sidequest, I always take a pizza to go.
@@Zanyverse a true gentleman of taste and class
Just pulled the trigger on the switch collection, and they surprisingly play great! Im reliving this game all over again!
Yeah, this is the only franchise I just buy on any system by default, just missing the first one on Switch now haha
@@Zanyverseworth your while to obtain.
Thank you so much!!!!! I have been looking everywhere for a video that lays out most things the Borderlands has to offer. Are you doing BL3?? :)
Pre-Sequel first ;)
Lemme grab some food and have a watch, here from reddit
Tfw self promoting actually worked :)
Welcome!
I'll tell you, i haven't played borderlands, nor have i ever had an intrest in it, but now i might give it a go. Great job in the video by the way! You never fail to impress, Zany!
Many thanks!
No problem, brother
OMG -- yes, you must!
Borderlands is an all around great series hell I still enjoy playing the first one
i never realised they re-released assault on dragon's keep as a standalone-title, thanks for noticing!
Yeah, I noticed it as I was browsing the trophy collection on psnp! :]
Best game ever. Still do new playthroughs every now and then. Probably close to 2000+ hours and still not bored. If only Gearbox could make another borderlands game as good as this :')
PRAY FOR 4
Liked for the weather update rage. Lmao
Hell yeah
Switched to xbox for back compat on 360 games got Pandora box in the sale I love bl2 🐐
50min long well there goes my evening
Nice
Borderlands 2 is a masterpiece and i play it daily. One of the best sequels to a videogame ever. Based on just how much everything improved, was enhanced, and how much better and biggger pandora got
True, I'd kill to have Borderlands 2, but in the Borderlands 3 engine, would be even more perfect.
Honestly ive got over 1000 hours on bl2 but when bl3 came out i was a bit disappointed since not only was there terrible dialogue but tyreen and troy just failed when becoming the new villains and it was just too easy so much so that id finish it in a couple hours and get to max level
I played through Borderlands (1) several times, but struggled to get into BL2. I still haven't finished it.
I found that I got frustrated with constantly having to compare stats every time someone dropped a weapon. But I'm going back to give it another go. I think I'll try it as Kreig this time.
I started to miss games where you just have a set list of weapons and can upgrade them.
I'd rather focus on exploration and combat than inventory management.
Also, I hate that it takes a big bite out of your wallet every time you die!
The weapon's card auto compares stats and makes is incredibly easy to interpret with green or red arrows lol?
@@xdrcx Yeah, but I often pick up, for example, an incendiary SMG which is the same as one I already have but with slightly better damage, but a smaller clip and lower fire rate, and it's not a clear choice.
And my inventory is always full, so every single time someone drops a weapon, I have to stop and look at my inventory for something to drop. It just gets tedious.
Sal's summary should've only been "Two gun, Max power"
hopefully there will be a ''borderlands 3 N years later''
Eventually yes! I have to take a quick detour to Elpis first! :)
I started a new game with my nearly 10 year old man I love this game he is still getting used to it he is used to Minecraft and halo but man never imagined I'd play this series with my son!
He still hasn't gotten the game down yet he often doesn't use the characters ability he chose zero he typically plays halo and minecraft
I just love Borderlands 2 so fucking much
everytime someone calls Borderlands "Cel Shaded", a vault hunter dies
(the game is not cel-shaded, its a common misconception. Randy himself stated that multiple times. Instead it uses a shading technique called "Normal based edge detection".)
That's a lot of deaths.
One day im making a borderlands 2 retrospective and the title was gonna be SIMILAR to this one before i EVER saw it, i promise im not copying lol
still some of the BEST "user experience" and crafted games i have EVER played. every combat feels satisfying and addicting. some of the most "epic" feeling and "RICH" feeling combats in games. sorry, no hype. those who never played this game dont know what you are missing.
Gage the goat
42:34 friendly fact that "Colonel" is spelled "Kernel", not as what its written as. English language moment.
Damnit, in Dutch its pronounced as its written, "colonel", language moment indeed... 😄
Possibly the greatest game ever.
I need pre sequel
Soon™!
Well I got a brat drop second shot in2024 torge DLC I THREW MY DUPED ONE!
Anyone wanna play bl2 on xbox series x/one? Tryna get a group together to play
brand new game still can't match B2's playerbase...justice league...
Bruh just yesterday I farmed a god roll Rustler's Hydra from Rouge, I've done almost everything in this game but I still find myself playing it again and today I decided to farm an item that has haunted me for years, I've gotten a 94% Sham and a god roll Hide of Terramorphous Shield before I've gotten this weapon, the god damn Twister, spawning Omnd-Omnd-Ock will be a bitch but THE TWISTER SHALL BE MINE!!!!!!
