Back in November of this year, there has been a post on the SGTrains blog website saying that 1 C151B would be retrofitted with the latest reliability-centred capabilities as signed between SMRT and CRRC Qingdao Sifang. Most probably this train is going to China to be retrofitted with these capabilities, which are manufactured domestically in China.
hi just a qn but what does it mean by C151B modification works? is it kinda like replacement or just kinda like a checkup? If so will they repaint the C151B and (hopefully) replace STARiS 2.0 to DRMD? Thanks
Yes, both checkup and replacement of old and/or faulty compinents. Others have termed it "Mid-Life Upgrades". For the Staris 2.0 I'm not too sure, apologies about that, but personally I doubt it will be replaced to DRMD.
