Taken from the Desert Springs 2-23-2015:
Lucie Arnaz and her husband Laurence Luckinbill decided to rent a house before buying and they settled on a gated community in South Palm Springs off Bogert Trail, named after Lucille Ball's longtime friend, former Palm Springs Mayor Frank Bogert. Lucie Arnaz used to go horseback riding with one of his daughters.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I don't remember you sharing that before, however the ole' memory...lol
Thanks for taking us along. Enjoy your weekend, peace...

It's hard to know why watching people walk around talking about whatever is so interesting, but it is. As long as you like the person. I watch Lamont at large, too, normally. I don't like the drama or really negative ones from some people, though.
It is nice to watch the mowers, painters, pressure washers, cleaners, etc. that are helping people who wouldn't be able to afford it themselves.
Watching peaceful, normal (although all different) people moving through life like us all, is kind of comforting. Especially while sitting alone, just working so much of the time. Also, we get to control the amount of distraction, stop, and start as needed.
    Thank you!

One is very strong about his opinions but thats cool to each his own..
But I love his RADIO/TV voice..it drags me onto anything he says ..he can talk about his sandwich and I am glued to it anyways ..
I have watched Lamont the longest I believe but my favorite RUclipsR is Ron Carlson, owner of FACES OF THE FORGOTTEN page...phenomenal stories about graveyard burials and history..he comes up with old stories that no one has done before but my favorite part of all is he takes his money and earnings from his page and buys gravestones and / or replacing vandalized ones.

Hey Steve...Happy Pride....I must say I am impressed that you are speaking about the Controversy surrounding Frank Bogert. I'm re locating to Palm Springs in Sept and will be in your area. As a bi racial blk lesbian I'm happy to see that Council is trying to work things out. The issue is the way Frank handled it. Our ancestors were
the service people who supported Palm Springs and quite frankly at that time the only reason they lived there
was because people were still segregated because of Jim Crow laws. What should have happened was those people should have been re located but what they did was evict them and burned their houses down which is shameful. Fast forward Some of the people who were kids when this happened are still alive and yes they should be compensated in some way because legacy is important. This issue was hidden and now has come to light. This is an example of why when the truth is covered up and people don't know the history we are doomed that history will repeat itself. Anyway I decided to make Palm Springs my home despite this black eye
only because council is trying to work this out. When I land and settle in. I will reach out to you. I love the channel and it would be nice connecting with you. I will be new to the area. I'm coming from Vancouver Canada but originally from NYC. My bro recently moved to Desert Hot Springs so I'm looking forward to being
in the desert soon. I would love to buy in this area in the future. Let's see how it all flows....Love & Light.

Hi Lampkin, thanks for sharing more of the background information of the story with all of us. My grandparents were living here at the time and I remember everyone talking about it and it was in the newspapers a lot. I had always heard that the people living in that area had been relocated to the northern end of town which is now the desert Highlands neighborhood. I didn’t think it was a secret or hidden, but maybe that’s just because my grandparents lived here and I heard about it a lot growing up. I’m sure it probably wasn’t publicized much to the general public or to visitors. Hopefully the city will be able to make things right. I’m glad that they are at least trying to do the right thing. That’s awesome that you will be retiring here and that you have a family here as well. Definitely reach out once you are settled in here and maybe we can do a neighborhood walk together. 😎👍

@@steveinpalmspringsca Right On Steve sounds good about doing a walking tour with you. You know70 years ago you and I wouldn't have been neighbors but fast forward to today and now we will be. How cool is that? Progress and I'm confident that Council will eventually work things out over time. That's why I'm giving Palm Springs a twirl. My gut says go for it. My intuition is never wrong. This will be a brand-new chapter. I'm around your age. I will be 65 in Nov. I grew up in Queens NY in the suburbs and I was exposed to a lot of diversity unlike a lot of other people so I'm comfortable being around different types of people. I got a hell of a story. I lived in ground zero during and after 911. My bro who is deceased was a first responder. I left NYC after the housing crash in 2009 on a one-way ticket to Canada and never looked back. Of course, a woman was the motivating factor ha ha. I've lived in Vancouver BC for the past 14 years. Canadians are good people. They welcomed me. I made many friends here, but you guessed it. It is another woman from your area that caught my attention and welp here I go again. Throwing caution to the wind. I've been single for the past 11 years my choice I needed that time to heal and grow and become the best version of myself. Now I'm ready to settle down. So, any single ladies out there watch out cause here I come. I believe my future wife is in Palm Springs Looking forward to my first Palm Springs Pride Whoo Hooo. We can all be fabulous together Yesssssss. Victoria
