i don't believe there is any way we draft a qb at 6 and even less of a chance we trade up to do so. they are being thorough seeing if they can catch a deal, but no one will bite. Going qb is already a dice role and if they can't get into the top 3, i don't see Daboll and Joe putting their careers on the line for McCarthy who would sit at least a year and carries some question marks. They will go Nabers or RO and possibly pick up a 2nd tier qb in 2nd or 3rd. i feel there is false drama here. I would be shocked we take a qb at 6, getting no weapons fro next year. And if they do and the G Men flop right out of the gate again in that market, there is going to be a serious problem in Gotham. I was a fan of getting Fields, honestly, and using picks for other problem areas. I believe in that dude. Stick him in if Dimes falters or just groom him for next year if Daniel is solid enough. If Dimes turns a huge corner, great, we ain't lose much for that insurance and we gotta pay a backup anyway. Give me Fields, Nabers, Robinson and Hyatt (whichever te) an improved O line, with a good backfield duo, and i think we could get some things done.
I want Alt. Fix the damn line once and for all. Protection if Thomas gets nicked up and forces Neal to compete for guard / swing tackle. Alt is the best available given the fact that you can get a wide out later in the draft. Take a QB later......

If they were smart, they would trade back with a team that needs a quarterback and pick up some more picks. Than if he's there I draft the tight end from Georgia. He's a great blocker and he plays like a receiver

On Big Blue View, you can find an interesting look at all first-round QBs since 2010. Of those, only about 37% are either HOF or "franchise QBs." I mean, it wasn't too long ago that the big question was who was best - Sam Darnold vs. Baker Mayfield?

Yes, some turned out to be NFL stars, which is what you expect with a player picked 1, 2 or 3 overall. However, many of them have also turned out to be busts, while others have been journeymen & back-up QBs. Not what you are looking for in a Top 3 pick.
Tread lightly Giants! Don’t draft a QB unless you are absolutely convinced that he’s a future NFL star.
You can draft a bad one and suck, or you can not draft one and suck.
Barring hitting on a lottery ticket, those are the rules of the game whether you like it or not. You can opt out if you'd like, but all you're doing is choosing willful death without a fight.

@@yepdontcarebud Absolutely draft a QB if you have them rated as a guy that has a good chance to become a high quality NFL QB. But you’d be a fool to draft a QB at #6 if you don’t have him rated that way, passing on a can’t miss player at another position that you desperately need. You suck more with a another mediocre QB on your roster while passing on the next Tyreek Hill / Justin Jefferson (etc).
as much as I'd love to get a new QB, picking up the 2nd best WR (nabers or harrison jr) is more of a sure thing than picking the 4th best QB. Schoen/Dabol can probably survive picking up a WR @6 but moving up to 4 and drafting a 4th best QB they are going to bet their jobs on it.
How can you look at Maye then look at Daniels and say Maye is better 😂😂 Daniels played way better competition as well
Younwpyld essentially be saying every scout and analyst is wrong, because they all have Maye rated highly and as a top 5 pick .... nobody had Jones that high.

But Daniels also had HOW MANY weapons ?? He had 2 receivers going in the top 25, 1 definitely going in the top 6. What did Maye have? He lost his best weapon to the Colts, he was offered 5 million plus to change schools and he stayed put… LOYALTY! I love Jayden Daniels, I do. I love his double jointed elbow, kid could spin it. But Maye could spin it too! He just needs to work on his accuracy. Plus Daniels NEVER throws over the middle, he scared to throw picks. Let’s see how that translates to the NFL.

Honestly just take Mccarthy even if you gotta trade up. He's only 20 and all these other qbs made leaps in stats ar age 22 or 23 so he has a lot of room to grow.
Something to look at with the top 6 QB’s is all them had better Weapons than JJ McCathy . I don’t get why everyone bashes him . He wins did everything he’s told to do. Great mechanics, mobile QB , good decision maker. Always looking at multiple reads down field . Not a whiff of trouble off the field. What else does he need to convince people? when it’s all said and done he could be the best QB from this draft .Don’t overthink it he’s going to be a very good QB.
If the Giants draft Rome then im guessing they will find a way to get Penix. Might trade back into the first round and get both. If they go Nabers then the other rumor of Bo Nix is probably accurate

Maye reminds me Mitch trubisky too much. I’d be out on him for that very reason. Williams will be a productive good nfl Qb but his scrambling that far behind the line of scrimmage with an nfl rush scares me. I have McCarthy ranked as my # 2 just very clean no real negatives great mechanics. Penix Jr 3 . Best deep ball , smart tough player , knows when to throw the ball away. Reminds me of Drew Brees with throwing style and deep ball.

As far as I'm concerned in order for the Giants to get an A for this draft they need to get one of Maye, Daniels, or Marvin Harrison Jr. I could see a scenario where they get a B by trading down to get Minnesota's 2 1st round picks and take Brock Bowers with the 11th pick, but it seems unlikely he's gonna get by the Jets with their 10th pick though. Drafting Odunze with the 6th pick I'd probably grade a B as well. I'm not sold on Nabers he's kind of short for a WR and has to overexert his body leaping and reaching too much to make a lot of his catches as a result, I suspect eventually that's gonna lead to injuries and some ineffectiveness afterward. McCarthy is too risky to use an early 1st round pick on if that's what the Giants end up doing its a D or an F grade.

Hopefully, he'll be there in round 4, but probably not. Not sure I'd draft a RB in round three when they need so many other positions of need like WR, QB, CB, IDL, OL, and Safety, all more valuable than a RB.

In the last 3 days, Marshall has claimed that there’s only 2 ‘beat reporters’ that he believes. And then goes on to tell us that they both are calling for a trade up to take McCarthy, who is probably the 5 th or 6th best QB in the draft. Now he believes that Schefty has the inside dope on them NOT taking a QB @6. All of this adds up to NOBODY KNOWS SHIT ABOUT SHIT regarding what they’re going to do.
The potential to trade back into the late first round, or early 2nd round for a QB is legit. But that’s been the case since the Burns trade, so it’s nothing new at all.

I think Schoen will have to choose between Odunze and Nabers, and possibly JJM, but I think one of the other more desperate teams (Vikes, Raiders) will jump us for him. I think Nabers will be more successful in the NFL than Odunze, but I also think Odunze may be a better pick because DJ will need the bigger catch radius he brings. Either way any one of the top three WR will make most of us quite happy!
