Are there any plans for there to be more weights available? A 9 or 10 weight for example? Love the looks of this rod and would love to try it but I would want it in a heavier weight if it ever became available.
I just got this rod as a back up to my Scott S4S and Orvis Helios 3 for a trip to Andros, and the lawn test tells me it might be my go-to. Ben’s being 100%, truthful, I might be getting a 9 wt for permit. Get it you won’t be disappointed
I have one and use it mainly for steelhead! I love it. My only issue is I broke one of the ceramic inserts on the first guide. Still fishes very good though just gotta see how the warranty works!
What line loads this rod the best? Not considering the fishing conditions or type of fish. What loads it the best for short to medium range and medium to long?
Yo Holmes. Can’t wait to break the 8 weight I am using now so I can buy yours, no lie. Can’t wait . Always believed in you guys . And Holmes you should be selling used cars. You got the look of trust . Peace out and rock and roll .🎣🎸
An awesome review! I am an academic who has retired to Middle Caicos where the bonefishing is spectacular - though don't tell anyone! I love the Trident reviews and this is superb - I'd give my eye teeth for this rod and will buy one as soon as I can... Thanks for your outstandingly helpful reviews across the board. It is terrific that you are designing your own rods, Ben!
Going to go out on a limb a bit here..... Do you happen to have an air boat? I think we may have run into you last February near Lorimers. Retired gentleman from the UK? Loading a boat up from the creek as we drove past and chatted. The two guys from Maine with paddleboards strapped to a Jeep haha. It is indeed a good fishery!
Any chance you're working on a 10' 8wt?
What is the warranty/repair cost situation? I'm curious about what happens if I break it and it's not due to workmanship/materials
Replacement sections are available for $49.95
Would love to see a five or six weight version. I don't have a use for an eight, however a five or six and you will have a sale.
You never know what the future might hold

Same here
I'm a bit late but there is a 9 and 10 wt now
This rod looks really good , price is relatively friendly ,congratulations Ben !
Thanks for the kind words!

Now I need another rod…
Great review. If I hadn't already bought the SKY-G from Trident, I'm sure I would have snagged this one instead.
Can't beat graphene
Didn't know about this brand, but looks cool.
Thanks for checking it out

Sounds like a MeridiaNrx at half the price
🙂
What kind of warranty? What kind of turn around time / cost for say a broken tip?

Great rod! I just received mine and love it. BTW - the stripping guides are REC Cerecoil guides. (They aren’t made by Fuji.)
Glad you like it!
How does the swing weight compare to the Orvis Blackout 8 wt?
The Orvis is shorter, so much lighter.
Nice!
The Atlas would make a great redfish rod. 😉
Are the blanks available to purchase for a custom build?
Not currently
Just got mine anybody want to buy an 8 wt Orvis Helios 3d
😅
ill give you 5 bucks for it
Who made the blank?
My guess is that will never be revealed 😂
JS Company in South Korea. The same OEM that makes most of the other South Korean blanks.
That would be my guess. They make some of the best rods on the market so thats great.
@@kevingeary1472 Mackenzie rod company I think.
