You have become a major inspiration to me. I found your channel a couple of days ago, and I love what I hsve seen. Every video is full of creativity, and I just want to thank you. (I have been working on an astromech, as well as now a moisture vaporator in my garage. Of course, the MV isn't a margerita maker due to my age of 14...) Continue your hard work!
Hey there! Thank you so much for the incredibly kind words. My entire goal is to have this kind of impact and inspire people to get out there and build great things. I would love to see your projects! You can share them on any of our social media platforms, (links in the description, just tag us) or put a link here in the comments so we can all see them. Thank you again for the support and being part of our community. Keep building!
Jason York HA!!!! That’s awesome, Love it and can’t wait to see what you do with it. Please post the finished project so we can all see. Thanks for watching and the compliment👍
Brian you have gotten me so inspired. The other day I was sitting in my shop at work after watching this video, and looking at my ryobi radio with the one+ on the front and thought of rouge one and what a great paint scheme would look good on it anyway I will be doing mine but you wanted ideas and I hope you do one because I would love to see your magic. Thanks John
Thank you Michael, and thanks for watching! picked that one up from some builders on the RPF www.therpf.com/ and Bill Doran with Punished Props Academy ruclips.net/channel/UC27YZdcPTZM24PgjztxanEQ . Both are awesome places to hang out.
I love this project, thank I gonna make one too. Btw the text on the glass says "Light" and on the body "kyber" BUT it is mirrored just to let you know. But it looks awesome anyway.
Great project. Your work has inspired me to go beyond just collecting, and start making my own stuff. Thank you for that. Question, do you know the brand of light you used? The body is different than what is standard now. Your model would make a great variant.
Great job! Will make one this weekend. Can you please put a link or name of the lamp. Also it would be helpful if you put what color paint you used. Thank you for your ideas. And your channel.
Hi Sandy! Thank you very much for watching, so glad you liked it and please share your build when you are done. You can tag us on Instagram, our Facebook page, or on twitter. I also added links to the Lamp and the paint I used for the project. Sorry I missed that on this one. Let me know if you have questions!
Had this plying during my morning commute to work. Just learned aurebesh a week ago. Don’t translate and drive kids. No accidents, I WAITED TILL I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT haha
Love your work Brian. Pure genius. Question. Did you put on a clear coat to protect the paint or do you think it’s really necessary? I’m making one and will be using some water mixable oil based paint to dirty it up a bit. Sadly the last time I made one of these, I used Rustoleum clear coat, same brand and formula as all the paints involved, and the darn paint wrinkled. Just wanted to get your opinion or if their is another technique I could use to dirty this up a bit. Thank you.
Hey Brian, I purchased the two pack from the link you provided but I think it’s a different lamp. I’m still going through with the project but your model light looks better. Also I feel the ones from the link are a bit smaller?
Yeah, sorry about that. A year or two ago they changed the design and now they are much smaller than the one I have. Which is a bummer. Still cool, but I like the larger size.
@@TheSmugglersRoom finished mine up yesterday. I think it came it ok though it’s missing the aurebesh , also it probably saw a little more action than yours.
Hello Bryan, how did you make those starwars font letters in silver color? I know that water transfer paper I often use but I thik, that you use a different way to create those silver letters.
Pretty rad. I found it hilarious you had Star Wars ( I won't call it a new hope) as the appropriate movie to watch vs rogue one. Why are the K and R reversed for kyber?
Wayne Bakken I was totally a fan of Rogue One, but it has to be Star Wars or Empire to set the tone for me. What did you mean about K & R reversed? I think I’m missing something.
Hi. In the Aurebesh alphabet, the symbols facing one way shows lower case letters, and facing the other way shows capital letters. The text that spells out KYBER, if you look closely, they all look backward because they are all capital letters. Just FYI.
But I've always wanted to be called a scruffy looking nerf herder... :( don't ask me why. :) I'm just being weird. Love the fact that you said you need the movie playing in the background to set the tone. lol

In case anyone was wondering, the lettering says Kyber, in Aurebesh. Although the lettering seems to be facing in reverse.

Hello Bryan, how did you make those starwars font letters in silver color? I know that water transfer paper I often use but I thik, that you use a different way to create those silver letters.
We used our Cricut maker to basically cut stickers for the letters.
question.
when painting this. in the video it looks like you let it assembled. Did you just touch up the inner rims with a brush?
I hate when someone has better ideas than me!

Isnt there a close up image of Rey and her staff showing a phillips head screw?
Yes there is!!!! LOL
Your link for the lamp doesn’t work anymore. And I saw these at Downtown Disney in the new Star Wars shop they added
Sorry, we’ll have to fix the lamp link. Very cool that they are out at Disney now.
Just found a cheap lamp and I'm going to build this as a night light for my 3 year old.
Sweet! That’s awesome!!!
Aren't there philips heads on Rey's staff?
apparently there is.
I’m sure if you were able to you’d have found a way to make the LED look like a kyber crystal.
If you tinted the glass it could be one of those thermal units that they use as artificial camp fire
Now that is a GREAT idea! Thank you!!!
There's a phillips head screw on rey's staff, you can see it on her poster for TFA.. but I'd prefer it weren't there
HA!!! I didnt know that, awesome stuff. I try the best I can not to use them in our props if I can help it.
There actually are philip heads in the star wars universe. Check out Rey's staff
Yeah! 🤣🤣🤣. That was a a good call out.
@@TheSmugglersRoom Thx! Stumbled upon your channel a few days ago. Watching all the videos... great stuff and inspiring to build more props.
what size are the hex screws?
that_one_terrestrial I will have to measure for you, I just used a few that I had at the time, but I’ll get back to you with the size.
It could just be the video being flipped, but it seems the Aurebesh is backwards?
The Lazy Madman you know, I think the image is flipped, not sure why, but good catch! 🤣🤣
