Obito had the most interesting story and development. As popular as he is he is still underrated because of the bs community that narrows his character down to "SiMp"

To me obito is very similar to star wars's darth vader.
Both had IMMENSE potential had they stayed with the light.
However an equal and maybe greater power is to be found in the dark side with their abilities.
However both suffered HEAVILY due to psychological scarring which lead them to the dark.
He's not just a simp.
The simp is an integrated part of his character. Rin and obito didn't even have a romantic relationship, however obito became who he was due to circumstance.
Mainly him being a kid in love with a girl.
In a very big vast world.
Obito also wasn't 100% oblivious to the world. Yes he's a bit comedic as a kid, but he wanted to become hokage to enact change.
His world was flipped upside down.
Like i said obito being a "simp" is true, but it isn't that simple.
Every battle obito is in he is heavily constrained and conflicted with his good side.

Both were still fucking beasts in their bad state, but 100% could have and should have been better.

The one he loved was gone the only thing he cared about in this world was gone from his grasps so yeah I don’t blame him for falling into the hands of madara not just that being as such an age someone telling you they can give you a reality where she can be alive again it may not be real… but it was real enough for Obito that’s what made him happy that’s the reality he wanted so he can be a peace with the one he loved…
