Finch is one of a very few bands that I listened to as a teenager that I can listen to now and not cringe. This guy was one of the best vocalists for this genre, and the live performance of this song o Spotify is a great example of how consistent he is.
Yeah, they played two new songs here in Nashville, "Rainy Day" and "Horror Island." I haven't checked on a release date but I feel confident we'll get something soon. They've been touring with Armor for Sleep, Winona Fighter and Bayside.
You can hear the Daryl Palumbo influence and Glassjaw vibe. The ending is prime Daryl with the high shrieks which really all comes from Mike Patton. Who Daryl loves. Great song. Love Say Hello to Sunshine but this a great balance of discord and melody in a post hardcore alt metal setting
Huge Daryl Palumbo influence right down to the physical mannerisms. Watch Nate sing in this video and then watch the video for Cosmopolitan Blood Loss ruclips.net/video/eghgAnlhPGw/видео.html
Finch never catered to their fan base. They wanted to get weird and creative with Say Hello to Sunshine, and I don’t think the What It Is To Burn fans cared for it. I don’t think they ever found a genre to call home. Say Hello To Sunshine was such an amazing album but who were they supposed to cater to? The hardcore scene? the emo scene? The Used a trillion years later are still a band because after their first album they decided to cater to the emo scene and they got away with it. Finch went the artistic route and they paid. It’s a shame....I loved this band in my early 20s, so much heart and raw emotion. 😢😢😢
@MinorThunder before declaring a hiatus in 2006. Finch reformed in 2007, playing a reunion show on November 23 at the Glasshouse in Pomona, California. They released a self-titled EP a year later, and were in the process of writing their third studio album when they disbanded in late 2010.... my bad then they did reform in 07 but i was right about them finishing around 07 in 06, after that i kinda been away from music scene and stuff so didnt realise they'd reformed.
absolutely criminal that this is not on Spotify
Only the live version is sadly
What is criminal is using Spotify for music.
100% 😢
Cause the worms make the dirt infection with mold they just want more
spotfy is for the weak
That final phrase : Absence of heart, makes a boy, a man, a monster..... Brutaaal
I used to be OBSESSED with the bass solo in this song, and now ive just revitalized that obsession lol
haha same. i remember when i was 16 trying to do the bass solo on my guitar
@@bruisedbug guys... It's not a solo lol it's just a cool riff.
i love this band forever
I loved this direction they took on this, could easily listen to a whole album of this
say hello to sunshine
Yes it was called “say hello to sunshine” - insomniatic meat being the best
13 years later... Still hot fire son. Very hot.
Ice 🆒😎😎😎
16 years later.... even hotter fire.
20 years later . the fire is raging
my ash particles are literally writing this comment
Does anyone else really fucking love this song??
"Absence of heart makes a boy, a man, a monster!"
The Glassjaw influence is SUPER palpable on this track.
I hate to say hella... But... "These guys have always been HELLA underrated". All my life.
Finch has always been ahead of their time. It's a shame, really. I love all the stuff they put out.
Atticus: Dragging the lake 2, one of my fav compilation albums as a kid
This is my kind of Finch!
this song ages like a fine wine
maybe it is just me but i can see hints of the creative genius "say hello to sunshine" that was to come a couple years later.
Chriserino Reviews I agree, this song and say hello are peak finch to me.
Damn 2022 and this still bangs as it did when I found it in the bonus features.
Love that double bass pedal, so early 00's
Also the double deck bus.
And the double deck cassete tape too.

Perfect description of this, all the way down to the secondhand Mike Patton influence

Say hello to sunshine is basically a shrine to Patton vocally.
I think it sounds more like Deftones sh*t lol but I definitely agree with you about Mike Patton influence
jesus man, way to nail that fucking description
Very Glassjaw and Snapcase sounding. GREAT.
Thank you so fucking much. I could not, for the life of me remember 'Glassjaw'. So I came looking in Finch comments and you, sir, have made my day.
Adam Williams better than glassjaw
Word
synth hero Hells naw!😂😂😂

I enjoyed both albums tho What it is to Burn is definitely the better
Agreed, Finch didn’t find a home. Say Hello to Sunshine is a masterpiece but most of the fans weren’t mature enough, we were still emo kids.
The constant breaking up didnt help either…
I used to be all about WIITB in my youth, but appreciate SHTS so much more as I'm older@littleblizzard7591
@tr4nsist0r did you know some of the members of finch first band was a def tones cover band called numb?
you guys are fucking beautys. still no idea how you're not world famous..10 years later
Great song And good movie
I have been looking for this video since 3 years ...
ruclips.net/video/otuMIemT_1g/видео.html
Yeah this is that good Finch sound.
It's weird i love this song, save for that 30 second intro.
2021!
Still here in 2024. Still Hits.
2023
0:12 - 0:32, the best part of the song.
daryl's influence on nate really comes out in the last 30 seconds of the song
Absence of heart, makes a boy, a man, a monster!
Both Finch and Underworld are the shit.
this shit was so fire back in the day
Love!
besides glassjaw, any more similar bands? =]
The guitar riffs of this songs is very great
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the first part of this song is wonderful.
i accidentally discovered this from a MV for Underworld. good stuff
i saw these guys at warped tour
Saw them in Atlanta back in 2013.
awesome
Still love me some Finchjaw...
still great in 2014
0:37 is that selene?
This song was part of the Soundtrack for underworld... so, yeh. I think this was actually made for it in some sense.
I know some of underworld soundtrack: Judith: a perfect circle and vermillion: slipknot. @@BlueJDev
@@BlueJDevbut there's a scene soundtrack play where Michael corvin is in the police car. Do you know the tittle?
Looks like my reply got lost in the censor algorithm! Again, "Coward" by Black Light Burns but renholder remixed it!
@@BlueJDev thanks bro. I was looking for this for a long time. Love the heavy vibe 🎧
Who still listen 2020?
This should have been the last song for SHTS
The chorus is so incubus i love it
I like this song
They should’ve been huge. Linkin Park huge.
This song kind of reminds me of the dillinger escape plan
Love it :D
Underworld to the years of covid 2020/2021
I hate how they split up. I love em'
The first 30 seconds are awesome, the rest is regular
anyone have this available for download?? since spotify or apple music wont freaking upload it
akjakkja el vocalista es una mezcla entre glassjaw, deftones, faith nomore, incluso algo de incubus, GENIAL.
2/8/19. Ok hi hahahhaha nakatagpo na naman ako ng band.
this...this i like :)
