@@justiceuponus3766 it was not about the voice it was about people knowing it was not the va there, and she was quite gone for a few months. That was fixed way back though so no issues at all anymore. Except yes it did toll her down forever i'd say.
Honestly I’m surprised this hasn’t happened to more of the girls that use accents or change their pitch in their character voices and also sing a lot. I really hope that they’re working with high-quality voice coaches and doctors to make sure they’re not doing the same thing.
Korone at this point probably has a minefield in her throat. Hyper long streams with that cutesyputesy high screeching. Her real voice is more or less like Suisei here (forbidden knowledge videos), among the girls I think she's right next to Luna and Miko when it comes to possible fatigue in maintaining a voice
"I wonder if everyone will accept me" everyone loves you the way you are and not because of your voice so Suisei don't have to worry about stuff like that
It really puts me at ease and makes me happy that Sui-chan's finally opened up to us with something that's she's been worried about for quite some time. And I'm glad too for everyone who was worried for something too bad after Sui-chan having that talk before, that their worries and questions were all answered. Sui-chan worrying about it really means that she cares much about what would happen and how everyone would feel about her... really sincere in what she tries to do. No matter how she sounds, she's still the Comet we all love. Sui-chan is still Sui-chan. Changing her voice doesn't really change much because she still talks at her natural voice on stream anyway. Besides, everyone loves her meteo side, and damn. I've been in love with her deeper voice for quite some time.
@@Chuito12PR Completely agree with you since this new voice has appeared frequently already whenever she is caught off-guard and even now we can still hear her old voice mixed in and to me it is rather a nice touch
I don’t watch suisei a ton but I don’t think I would have noticed of it wasn’t explicit. As you say, it seems more like natural variation than a totally changes affectation
I guess the voice she previously used on-stream was a bit unnatural/unhealthy for her. I agree with what chat was saying though, her new voice doesn't feel like that big of a change, it just sounds a little bit lower and more relaxed. It's probably more noticeable to Suisei herself though - since she's the one talking, after all. Hopefully her throat's condition will be all good from now on. Looking forward to the live next month!
This just sounds like Suisei's normal calm voice though? Sure, it's not the slightly frantic excited Suisei voice, but she's also not excited about anything here lol. Seems subtle, I guess

I didn't think it was possible to fall in love again to suisei the second time. I really love this new voice of her, which sounds more of her normal talking voice which is lovely. It's also nice to listen to and she sounds much more mature. it gives of that ara~ ara~ vibes which I completely adore. I'm glad Suisei decided to make some adjustments with her work to ensure that she does it in a way that doesn't hinder her from streaming since she enjoys it. I was really confused but this video has made things clearer! Thank you!!!!! Edit: She's still my favourite!!!! (May have something to do with the fact I like deeper voices)
I know there's a pressure to sound loud and passionate for the fans and to make the best impression, but hopefully they realise they don't need to be, there are going to be exciting moments when you're louder, but i think practicing a calmer voice overall is the way to go. I'm thinking about Pekora who absolutely trashes her voice, she's been taking steps recently to maintain it but she has to adjust at some point. I remember this advice for singers doing back to back shows "Give it your best 70%".
Subaru, Rushia, and Pekora put their vocal cords through hell daily. Vtubers pitch shifting their voices does long lasting damage. Risu also can't stay in high pitch mode for too long and will swithc to her much lower, natural 'Ayunda' voice to not kill her throat.
It's okay to change in order to recovery and holomembers will always love you no matter what happened she's still suisei just like anime said *Suisei is Suisei*
I honestly like this voice more. Her past voice just feels a bit forced? Although the change is very subtle, her voice now sounds more somewhat more soothing
Suichan-before and Suichan-after voice change: Me: it's the same but srsly, people behind the avatar need to take a look at Ai's incident; it's not about the voice, it's the person behind it. Even if the voice is the same but the person behind it changed, people gonna noticed it no matter what. On the other hand, no matter how you change your voices, if the person behind it is the same, then all is well.
For anyone else I would say that such a concern is absurd and that nobody would have noticed. She's being ridiculous. For Sui-chan though, I can see how she would be extremely proud of her voice and having to degrade it a little in order to prevent strain would hurt her pride. I hope she has realized that everyone supports her.
Rather then worried about her changing voice, i am more worried when she cannot singing again like she use to be, I hope she take care her throat well.
Maybe it's just because I recognize voice actors pretty easily unless it's an extremely dramatic difference but I honestly don't hear a difference in her voice from when she normally talks, it's not the higher pitched one but I feel like we hear this all the time.
"Using my voice in a way that put allot of strain on my throat" I had a 20 second heart attack before realizing she wasn't saying she was slowly developing vocal nodules
GameGrumps talk a lot about this topic. They did a big shift as they've produced content (likely a lot more speaking and performing on a weekly basis compared to Hololive members) from being hyper energetic, loud and careless with their voices for the many hours a day they recorded, and now they're much more relaxed and careful with how their larynges are used. I think this is inevitable for any streamer who puts on a voice.
Geez Suisei, that sounds incredibly painful! Don't hurt yourself to the point that its going to cause permanent damage. We'll gladly accept a voice change, even less singing, just watch your health, okay? We all support you and want to watch you succeed, but we also don't want you to hurt yoruself to achieve that. The voice of the vtuber is good, but there's more to a vtuber than a voice. In light of that, a voice is such a small comparison to her personality. You're not betraying us. Betraying us would be keeping your problem buried until its too late. We want you to have fun just as you're entertaining us.
It never ceases to amaze me that vtubers underestimate their fanbase. Snuffy, who looks up to hololive as an example that she can never reach, did a voice reveal last month and had the exact same thoughts.
Suisei announces "I changed my voice" Meanwhile i'm just sitting there like "Wait, you did?" i played this stream and her previous ones simultaneously and still didn't notice a difference, so i guess she's worried for nothing. suisei's voice is cute as usual today, after all.

I would say its more trained. Very common My voice for example have changed three times. Once from puberty, second time from speech training, third time from debate fatigue.
Jokes on Sui-chan, I find lower voices on girls hot. But seriously, I'm glad she switched to a much more relaxed voice for her health. I hope this gave her peace of mind that, regardless of what she may sound like, she's still adorable. Here's hoping her throat stays healthy because man it would suck to lose a voice as amazing as hers.
After watching a few clips from this point forward, I noticed that she has this voice and a slightly lower more casual voice. Am I weird or am I right?
