    I used the norwex wash mitt this past weekend for the first time and was disappointed. It did in fact scratch my truck. I was very skeptical about not using soap and I was right to be. The mitt does an excellent job when you use soap. It removed bug guts with ease. I will never wash again with just water!

    What an amazing video! Thanks for showing how to use the car mitt and the effectiveness of it. I can't believe you did the wheel wells too. Awesome!

      Thanks, Nicki -- still love my mitt & drying cloth. Best thing ever! And, when the windows are
      dusty, it takes about 5 minutes to clean them all! Wonderful :)

    Thanks for the tutorial! I just got mine and was not wringing the mitt out enough it seems.
    Although I would not recommend using it for a very dirty car without rinsing first, it does seem very effective for people who like to clean their car at least once or twice a week.

      +shugoken Thanks! Using the one bucket is still very practical for So Cal Residents and for those in apartments! However, I like it as well because the AMAZING drying/polishing cloth doesn't get too wet and I can use it effectively for the entire car :)

    I get paid to fix the scratches and swirls this type of wash procedure inflicts on paint. The microfiber itself is probably pretty good though.

      @lindahanson4253 9 лет назад +1

      +danlc95 So, you are saying that the one-bucket, only water method causes scratches and swirls? I have not found that to be true. I would think that if you had an overwhelming amount of mud, for instance, on the surface then you probably should rinse it down first. And yes, this microfiber is a higher quality than those in the stores. I did find that using just a microfiber cloth (not the mitt in this video) on SAP that got on my car did scuff the surface because I have no real answer for sap, and scrubbing with a microfiber CLOTH will scuff the paint. The mitt, in my experience, does not. As for the polishing cloth....after the all the dirt is removed with the mitt, the polishing cloth provides an awesome shine. Although no other product than water is used, people think my cars have been detailed!
      I still recommend that people who use this product continue to was their cars on a regular basis. Or use whatever is the correct product to protect the paint over time. This is only to clean the car, so people still should wax once in awhile, etc.
      Thanks for commenting, danic95

      +Linda Hanson Yes, over time the scratches and swirls will increase. I've seen surfaces break down over time, especially at the automatic car washes.
      If there is ever a need to repair the surface naturally, look into Zymol Cleaner Wax. All natural formula, with a carnauba, and beeswax protective agents. They use kaolin clay, chalcedony crystals, aloe vera gel, banana oil, among other things.
      They also offer Field Glaze which is a "mist on, wipe off" product. Great for removing light dust. All of Zymol's products are naturally derived.

      +danlc95 Well, I've used this just water method for almost 2 years and I still am always surprised with the nice results. My aim with using Norwex is to reduce chemicals, and so I use less spray on products for sure. I like the sound of the Zymol Cleaner Wax natural formula, but I still am banking on many good years with positive results from my Norwex Mitt & Cloth :) One nice outcome is that I don't really ever feel the need to go to an automatic car wash. My bucket method cleans well and easily. Thanks for the feedback :)

      +danlc95 thanks for the info on ZYMOL. I just purchased some. ALTHOUGH I will ALWAYS use and LOVE my Norwex Car Mitt and cloth (I use it weekly and have a brilliant shine), I DO try to wax the surface a couple of times a year (and encourage my customers to do so)...Zymol is what you said: natural ingredients; definitely NO PETROLEUM smell! Looks like a great addition to my "reduce chemicals" lifestyle! Thanks again, +danic95.

    You should be using a product like ONR (optimum no rinse) .. only difference is you are adding lubricity to the water. And YES its still environmentally safe. Poor people are scratching the hell out of their paint :(

    I got a norwex body cloth as a gift and thought it was just a fancy washcloth and used soap with it. I have since learned that I may have to do some special cleaning to “reactivate” it. How do I do that?

    • @lindahanson4253
      @lindahanson4253 6 лет назад +2

      It will be okay if you just used regular soap once or twice. The best detergent to keep these cloths nice and fresh is Norwex's UPP--I absolutely love this detergent because everything is fresh and clean and there are no fillers that make cloths or clothes heavy with fillers and fragrances. If you don't have the UPP, use a detergent that says it is "free and clear" but I still think UPP is best :) One problem I have seen is when people have to use a laundramat, the cloths absorb all the fabric softeners that are in the machines and it makes them a little heavier and they don't absorb as well. Other than that, no worries about a little bath soap :)

      I'm still lovin' mine after 4 years! I use two drying cloths though -- if the drying cloth gets too wet, it will not dry well. And don't forget to wax your car a couple of times a year....I'm told that 4x a year is good, but I am not that motivated ;)

    You mention the Norwex microfiber is 1/200th the size of a human hair. Are you sure the wash mitt is 1/200th ?

    • @lindahanson4253
      @lindahanson4253 8 лет назад +2

      +Mopar Marc Yes, all the microfibers in Norwex's microfiber products are made of this superfine microfiber. Several of our microfiber cloths are also embedded with silver to help purify the cloth between washings.

      Linda Hanson I like your products......but anyone serious about proper car washing would fringe when you dipped your mitt in dirty water to clean again.....the scratches would be unbelievable like the rest of your test car.

  • @hakman239

    You should rinse the car with water and washed the car with the 2 bucket method 95% of scratches is caused by improper washing

      What is the two bucket method?

    • @Jeeper1378
      @Jeeper1378 4 года назад +1

      @@monicachin4428 one bucket soap and 2nd rinse water. The procedure shown is marring the paint. There’s nothing special about the mitt... its just standard microfiber. Yes it traps dirt but you still need to add lubricity to the water. Theres also Rinseless washing. Similar to the video.. a product like ONR (Optimum no rinse) is added to the water to add lubricity. Then you can safety wash the car panel by panel drying in between. The ONR also pulls the dirt to the bottom if the bucket.

    Hubcaps?

    • @hansoncleanteam6900
      @hansoncleanteam6900  5 лет назад

      Hubcaps are actually NO PROBLEM - I do them LAST because of the grime, but they clean well; KEY--RINSE THE CLOTH WELL and if it is REALLY dirty, use Norwex detergent to clean them well. If you buy Norwex detergent (It is the best I've found) you can soak your mitt and you will see how much dirt was sucked deep into the microfiber. If you can't use Norwex detergent for some reason, try to find something without fragrance, softeners or fillers--those mess up the absorbency of the microfiber.

    • @ChappoCrothers

      Great thanks for the reply. But I was more getting at the fact that you don't have hubcaps on your car, you have alloy rims. But thanks for the vid. I just got a bit and was looking at how to use it. @@hansoncleanteam6900
