I wish I'd have seen this video before my 2 brain surgeries. I had the DBS surgery to implant a pacemaker into my brain. Sadly my surgeon missed the mark slightly and therefore couldn't stimulate the trigeminal nerve. Unfortunately upon the 2nd surgery to remove the leads I suffered a bleed and damage. A lot of what you mentioned makes me realize how unprepared I was. Great video.

Thanks for the info Dr. Rutkowski! I’m an aspiring neurosurgeon in my fourth year of my bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. I just subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to your future content. I would very much love it if you could upload some videos regarding how to become a neurosurgeon and any important tips that you’ve learnt along your journey. Keep up the great work!

Excellent video as always, Dr. Rutkowski. You could have also mentioned in the end to take a deep breath and remember that the body has an excellent ability to heal itself. This is something that you mentioned in your 73 questions video as well and I think it's such a fabulous and a truthful statement.

God how I wish I had listened to this before I had an emergency tumor removed from my brain a few weeks ago. It all happened so fast and I was kind of out of it. So many things I didn't think to ask about before it happened. And now, in the healing process, I still have so many questions, but the red tape involved with anything that has to do with getting answers... ugh!

Hey Dr Martin! Can you please do a video on mental health? Perhaps on anxiety or depression and your tips to overcome it as a scientist? I know it perhaps it is not your expertise but I see you as a very calm and happy person and it would be great to get your perspective on life ☺️
