Shine - BOND (livestream concert)

Shine is an amalgamation of various styles of traditional Indian music. Written by Magnus Fiennes, the track draws heavy inspiration from Bhangra music, which is widely popular in the Indian state of Punjab. Traditional Punjabi music features many herd-call vocalizations such as “burrrrrahhhh”, or phrases that express excitement and happiness like “balle balle, shava shava”, “oy hoy!!” - the English equivalent to these phrases would be hurray, yay, woohoo etc. A few bars after the end of the first violinist’s solo, one hears a gorgeous playing of the Sitar, a plucked stringed instrument. The vocals sung in the beginning and the end of the track are distinct traditional North Indian style of singing. Combing all these different traditional Indian music styles with a modern beat element, Magnus Fiennes, successfully has written a Bollywood number. When the track and music video of Shine was released, it garnered heavy attention and delight to Indian audiences in India. With their beautiful looks and wonderful talent, BOND conquered India’s heart with Shine.
