    Hey everyone! Just wanted to pin a comment on this video addressing that Tier 1 Concealed has changed to ONLY offering the mid-height sweatguards. I have nearly $2k worth of holsters from them all with high sweatguards and have voiced my feedback. Today they doubled down on their instagram story and said they have no plans to reintroduce high sweatguards. Their holsters still rock (and I still recommend them) with the mid sweatguards, but it is a huge disappointment to me especially since I carry a 2011 with many nooks and crannies to get filled with sweat. If you want to see them bring back high sweatguards, let them know in the comments on their RUclips videos, Instagram posts, and Facebook posts. Hopefully if they see a high enough demand, we can get them back.

      I'd like to add to this News. T1C uses SOMETHING OTHER than stainless steel hardware. In AZ myself I find that if I don't check daily my Rig I will one day check and discover rust on my screws&nuts. As NWG suggests, T1C stepped up on my email complaint and sent me gratis a new bag of hardware. Secret I've learned and am testing now??? Silicone over 'those' screws that suck up schweat (and rust) which I find is an acceptable cost (harder to change screws though advantage also is that adjustments aren't needed as it acts like a thread-lock anyway). AND REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR FA REGULARLY TO AVOID RUST TO SLIDE/ETC!!!

    ...just to complete an idea....the wedge also provides a zone to absorb the pressure on the pelvic zone from the tip of holster,the wedge being some sort of a thick sponge-like material, thus ,helping in comfort not only for the guys with a belly but also when being seated (like for example driving) .
    Well done,well explained,good video overall ;)

    These holsters are top notch quality! I own two of the axis slim holster and just picked up an Axis Elite for my Glock 26. I ordered the Glock 17 holster configuration, because the sub compact guns like to tip away from the body. Running the 26 in the Glock 17 holster is perfect, because it resolves that issue.
    I also run the T1C large wedges on my holsters since I have a small gut and it is comfortable and no tipping away from the body.

    Hey Nightwood! I’ve been shooting three years and have my CCW here in California. I carry appendix running the Tier-1 Axis Slim with full-size XD9 and Axis Elite with full-size FN 509 tactical. Thanks to your videos I ordered the DCC clips from Tier-1 and must say they conceal remarkably BETTER! So slim and strong. True, the original clips are durable and easy to use but do print a bit due to material thickness and overall dimension. In all honesty, did not enjoy the metal clips at first (resistance to change much? 😄) because they’re tougher to open to slip on and off, but the conceal-ability truly is fascinating so of course installed we go! Got two dedicated gun belts as well but too stiff. My aged 1.5” everyday thick leather belt works for me (hoola hoop not sure it’s comfy 😂). Subscribed and looking forward to learning MORE! Have a great day! ☕️👍🏼

    Thank you Brett, this is by far the best video I’ve seen for the T1C holsters! Now I just need to pick a gun to pair with one. What peaked my interest the most was the high sweat guard for the hot climate you’re in (Florida native myself). I’d love to see a video on how you comfortably carry with hot weather clothes and prevent chafing caused by an aggressive grip. Looking forward to more content about AIWB and maybe a T1C vs Bravo concealment comparison?

      Thanks for the comment! 👍 I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Whichever gun you pick will go great with the Axis Elite! Just a heads up: T1C suspended high sweatguards to catch up on orders over the holidays. But they should bring it back once they are caught up. If you don’t want to wait, the mid-length sweatguard they have defaulted to is still great 👍 And thanks for the video suggestions, I’ll add them to the list! Welcome to the channel! 😎

    Great review, man! After carrying at 4:00 all my CCW life I saw a random video about appendix carry that challenged my beliefs. I bought a cheap AIWB that has no adjustments to give it a try and love it…except my gun digs into my thigh because I can’t adjust the darn thing and is painful by the end of the day. After going to RUclips to see what my other options are, T1 showed up a few times. The price point made me a little shy to buy, but I decided to throw the dice. I ordered it yesterday. This video showed up in my feed today and man, I sure feel a lot more confident about my gamble. Great job explaining the wedges and metal clips too. Stellar attention to the details! And I’m with you on their friendliness. I had email exchange with some questions and they were quick and friendly with reply’s.
    And speaking about attention to detail, did you know that you can KNOW if you’re going to heaven?
    ”These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.“ -1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭
    When we die, we’re going to be judged by God and then go one of two directions: up or down.
    God gave us the Ten Commandments so that we would see we are in trouble and are in need of a savior. ”Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.“
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    And we’re ALL guilty of breaking them. We’ve told countless lies, stolen something, used God’s name as a cuss word, dishonored our parents, looked with lust (where adultery begins). And sin is no joke to God. ”For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.“ -Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬
    ”But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.“
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬
    And our good works or trying to be a good person won’t be enough. We need to trust Jesus. In other words, we need to believe what He said and did is true. He DIED for us. He paid our debt on the cross. ”For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:“ -1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬-‭4‬
    We are made innocent through Him! ”Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:“
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭
    If you haven’t already, let today be the day to repent (turn) from your sins and trust the one who can destroy the body and the soul.
    ”that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.“
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭11‬, ‭13‬ ‭
    God bless❤

      @@NightwoodGuns the video was awesome. I’ve already shared it with a few buddies. There’s a CCW class at church next week so it’ll be relevant for a few people.
      I’ll be 55 this year and more than ever before, I’m aware that I have more years on this planet behind me than I do in front of me. One day we’ll all die and step into eternity. In one of two places. Forever and ever. And we have a choice where that will be. All the good things we enjoy today: good food, good friends, awesome vacations, our freedoms (so far) in this country. But we can’t take any of it with us.
      The Bible describes hell as there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” and “torment day and night, forever and ever”. Heaven by contrast will be the opposite; better than we can even imagine. Forever.
      I want to see as many people there as possible. I want to share this good news with as many people as possible. The Bible says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ so I have a lot of work to do. I sincerely hope you give serious thought to the gift God is offering. He created you and loves you. This is an uncomfortable subject for a lot of people. It’s because it makes us look at ourselves honestly and admit we’ve done things that would upset a holy God. And then deal with the consequences. It’s much easier to ignore.
      I’ve quoted a bunch of Bible verses so that you’d know this isn’t me trying to be clever. It straight from God’s word. It’s all of Him and none of me.
      So, yes, I jumped the shark. So that you wouldn’t have to get “bit” by it! ;)
      I’ll be checking out more of your videos. I appreciate your comprehensiveness and honesty.

Finding a good or great Holster for your EDC is difficult. We The People also have great holsters & that's what I've been using. However, it's time to upgrade my holster so that is why purchased my T1C Holster! I used a crossbreed holster many years agso for my first EDC. Loved that holster. But we have to evolve with the times & I have heard nothing but great thing's about T1C Holsters.

      Glad you enjoyed the review! 😎👍 The general consensus on the MSP holsters is that they are convenient, but sacrifice comfort and concealability compared to the Axis Elite. If you look at what the guys from the actual company run, I don’t think any are using an MSP daily. I would only get the MSP if I had a bunch of guns in my carry rotation but was on a budget for holsters, or if they didn’t make a holster for a specific model of gun in the Axis Elite or Axis Slim.

    Great review, and good to see another video. I have tried to carry appendix but I just can't do it, it's just not comfortable. I'm not huge, but I'm not skinny. I've seen other bigger people carry appendix and there's no way they're not feeling some pain, especially if they're sitting down, I don't care how hard they hide it.
    Also, what is UP with all of these weird bot comments lately like the "Rina" one below??? It's very strange!

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  2 года назад

      Haha! Thanks for the comment, man! Yeah the bots are getting crazy! As far as appendix-carry comfort goes… it just boils down to everyone being different. For me, appendix is more comfortable and that includes sitting down. But there are so many variables in individuals that determine what is subjectively comfortable, that it’s impossible to make a one-size-fits-all holster. But just like anything else, if you are motivated enough to carry appendix and you force yourself to do it and be uncomfortable for a couple of weeks, your body will adapt and you won’t even notice it any more. And T1C happens to be the most comfortable option if you commit to appendix. But I advocate for the daily carry of a firearm in any safe position on the body. I’m certainly not an appendix elitist. And if it’s uncomfortable, it’s easier to leave it at home. And that is no bueno.

    • @Taegashi
      @Taegashi 2 года назад +1

      When sitting while carrying appendix, the waistline is important as well as far as comfort. Everyone wears their pants at different heights. If you wear your pants a little lower, it’s going to make sitting while carrying appendix extra uncomfortable. So prior to sitting of you hike your pants up, even just a little, it’ll drastically make it more comfortable. Cause like he explained in the video with the wedge, it’ll make the holster sit more vertically, rather than dig the bottom part of the holster into you. Also helps to have an easy adjustable belt like a kore belt or a nexbelt to be able to loosen a touch when sitting.

    Thanks for the thorough review! I thought I was stuck carrying compact pistols, but seeing you whip out that XC made me re-evaluate what's possible. Is there a particular place you get your clothes (shirts specifically)? How do you make sure they don't drape over your gun?

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  Год назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed the review. After carrying micro-compacts for a long time, I can’t believe I’m carrying and concealing full-size guns with weapon lights now. If you EDC, I consider your clothing to be a part of your EDC kit. Does it hide your gun? Can it easily be cleared during the draw? The shirt in the video is from Tier 1 Concealed. I’ve also had luck with Grunt Style. I look for shirts that are tight across the shoulders/chest with some spare room in the stomach area. The best thing to do is order some different brands or go to different stores and try them on with your EDC in the fitting room. The number one thing you can do to make most shirts work: lift weights and build up your chest. It will create “negative space” in most shirts, causing your shirt to naturally drape further out (unless it’s an under armor-type shirt.) Hopefully that helps 👍

    Ive ran tier 1's axis elite holsters for almost 10 years now and lll never buy anything else, only complaint is what your comment was, no more high sweat guards, I got one in today actually, but anyway when I went to order this one I saw no high sweat guard, would've realized it last holster I ordered but I tried mid guard last holster and they still offered high at the time, wish I would've went with high, glock 19 mos had a fde cerakote and in south MS it's hot, I wear my gun religiously everyday no matter the condition and it wore that cerakote in a couple of months, that sucked bc it made where it had wore off wanna rust, so I ended up painting the entire gun black like I wish I could've got it, ( when I was searching for a 19 gen 5 mos fde was all I could get a dealer to order, so kinda had to take what I could find) will never buy another cerakoted gun bc of that very reason, carried non mos gen 5's since they came out never once wore and I holster my gun alot, dry fire, classes, range you name it, so yes I wish they still made high sweat guards still, won't stop me from buying them tho

      I really wish they’d bring them back. They still make my favorite holster, but I prefer a high sweat guard.

    Could you switch out the original clips with Ulti-clips? Thats wat i was looking into doing. My only concern is i dont wear clothes with belt loops, im a athletic person so a lot of basketball shorts and sweats would u still recommend the tier 1??? I carry a G26

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  Год назад +2

      Yep, you can switch them out for Ulti-clips 👍 DCC clips will also work with no belt and are lighter/lower profile. Honestly, for anyone who wears basketball shorts and sweats I recommend the Phlster Enigma/Enigma Express. Much better support for the weight of the gun that way 👍

      This was not my first T1C holster 😂 I had been carrying with an Axis Elite for a looooong time before reviewing this one. Shirt was probably a year old.

    Would it be able to carry that same type holster at a 2 o'clock position or is it solely for appendix? Thank you

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  Год назад +1

      You could scoot it over to 2 o’clock, absolutely. But a solo holster like the Xiphos V2 might be more comfortable/concealable in that position. Especially if you want to balance it by carrying a separate mag-carrier at 10 o’clock.

    @nightwoodguns Question for ya, if you know...
    Will that T1 light bearing Staccato holster also work with the Olight PL-Pro?

      I don’t think so, but you can always ask T1C to be sure 👍

    I just recently purchased the MSP pro and it’s like the axis slim and it conceals like💩💩💩 with or without a wide wedge I’ve been wearing it every day and yes it depends on the body type. I conceal better with aegis always have but I purchased the MSP pro with the TLR so I didn’t have to keep buying a holster every time I buy a gun however this my honest opinion I don’t like the MSP pro. Great video all your videos are great and knowledgeable.

      Yeah, I had a bad feeling about the MSP pro and I’ve heard the same thing from a lot of dudes I trust. I love modern samurai project and t1c, but that holster seemed like it was doomed in the comfort/concealment department. At least for me. I’m sure it could work for others. The Axis and Aegis Elites are the way to go, though 100% When in doubt, look at what the people who work at t1c use. 👍 Thanks for the comment, man!

      @@NightwoodGuns I feel like no matter the manufacture I always end up modding the holster. I’ve started just buying the cheaper holsters from Etsy, Amazon, eBay, holster builder. I’ve gotten just as good of performance from those as teir1, trex, llod, all the big brands. I have a shit ton of holsters for my firearms. Doing it this way has literally saved me probably $1000 over time. Recently been carrying the S&W m&p 2.0 4.6 10mm. I’m 6ft 3 and a very athletic 200lbs. In between being built and slim. I’ve just been using a $30 holster from Amazon that I modified with DCC clips aftermarket claw/wing. Can’t even tell I have it. Appendix carry is definitely the way to go.

    Does the standard or extended magazine side car change fit and/or comfort for this holster?

    • @NightwoodGuns

      I prefer the extended mag carrier. Protects my mag from sweat.

    Is that an RMRCC? Does it feel like it sticks up really high with the mounting plate?

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  Год назад

      It’s a standard RMR Type 2. And it doesn’t feel too high at all. It’s on a Maple Leaf Firearms adapter plate. I’ve been happy with it overall. I’ll probably be switching to a Holosun EPS Carry when they are more available, though. I’ve been switching over to closed emitter optics on all of my handguns.

    I would think so because its the same gun just modified a lil differently but i want to know before i order.
