I know a female sexual assault victim who was retired and relieved of duty, whereas her rapist was transfered and never charged. He was caught on tape admitting to it, but nothing was ever done. This victim now spends time in mental hospitals regularly for PTSD. I feel for her...

It happens EVERYWHERE, not just in fort Hood. Not just in the Army. Every branch sweeps sexual assault under a rug because there are no checks and balances. There’s no one to make them accountable. They are the Judge, attorneys, & jury.

I was medically retired from the Army in 2018. Partially because of I was violently attacked and sexually assaulted by another serviceman while in Iraq. They did nothing to this man. As a mother I will not allow my children to join. I gave them my all for 11 years and when I needed them they were no where to be found. My heart goes out to this family so damn much.

    SHE DID NOT KILL HERSELF.
Reason #1: When facetiming her family she was clearly afraid for her life, She was the opposite of suicidal. She even had said "I thought I was gonna die in that car"... chilling to hear the fear in her voice & know that when she was being actually killed she was most definitely terrified 😢
Reason #2: I know what it's like to be suicidal, growing up was traumatic & lonely. I have tried that method before ( how she was found) (staged) & it does NOT work!! Your body's natural instinct is to fight to survive. Unless you somehow knock yourself out but I highly doubt that because again, she DID NOT WANT TO DIE! & she should not have died... I don't know her family but this broke my heart. She wanted to help & protect & serve her country but instead she was tormented by her own, terrorized & brutally murdered & the worst part is they tried to put the blame on her... sick. My prayers go out to her family. This has got to be so painful. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope she gets justice, those who killed her may be able to hide now but when they meet their maker, Jesus.... that's not the way I'd ever want to meet my Lord 😢

I’m so sick of hearing this happen. I’m in the AirForce and this plus suicide are the majors things we have to deal with throughout my career. I’ve met former army females who I’ve dated that also went through this it’s pure sickness to think these people join what is supposed to be the most prideful life changing organization to find out it’s not that at all. Too many stuck up people hiding behind rank who just want to check boxes but don’t genuinely care about this stuff. It’s sick and I’m so tired of hearing this. There’s a lot of devilish people in the military trust me when I say this the government is god to most of them. During the whole forced vaccination situation I was involved with I saw so many people make snarky comments towards individuals beliefs over not wanting to receive the vax or being forced out of the military. There’s some twisted crap going on and the fact that they literally covered it up just leaves me speechless but I’m not after hearing this same scenario play out the same way over and over.

When I was in the Military I attended a small get together with my husband at my chief’s home. My chief had a military Priest who was a close friend of the family for years. My chief has four children, the oldest two were girls about 12 and 13 years old. On my way from the bathroom at this particular get together, this priest pinned me up against the wall in the hallway and told me that he had been celibate for 56 years and that I was the one he wanted to make love to. I told my chief and his wife, but they brushed it off saying he was harmless. Two years later I read an article in The Navy Times that a priest in Virginia Beach, VA had been arrested for molesting two young girls for over seven years, I called my old chief immediately, and yes, it was the priest and his two daughters. I was heartbroken. If only they had listened to me and not brushed him off as “harmless.” He was a predator. 😢

I did 20 yrs in the Navy, and this is so true. The current broken system of reporting is there only because of public demands. When I joined Tailhook scandal was first breakout of this large problem. Its not just women getting assaulted. Male on male, girl on girl, etc. All branches and all levels of ranks hiding and trying to keep it quiet. The old school traditions of protecting your own, on not only this, but domestics, and anyone that whistleblows is black-balled permanently in their career. My eyes woke up when it happened to a close friend and I found out long after the fact.

I'm a Navy vet, the first 3 years of service I lived in the barracks and there were two rapes that I was aware of, both involved alcohol. A lot of the people who live in the barracks are young and have a false sense of security, they think that because they're soldiers/sailors that they're honorable. There are a lot of shady people in the armed forces and they will take advantage of you if they see the opportunity. Also the people in charge cover up for each other, if you report one of them for wrongdoing chances are nothing will happen but they will retaliate against you.

When I was in the military, I experience sexual harassment but my female peers that were trainees treated me like I was over reacting or crazy and they themselves tried their best to fit in as one of the “bros”. I felt that if I would bring it up my drill sergeants would dismiss me. At one point it got so bad I did bring it up and the drill sergeants, about 5-10 of them together in a group, told me that I should not report it and be quiet about it so that my time there can go smoothly and that I wouldn’t cause any problems. Multiple times a specific guy violated my personal space and they saw it and did not care. I also experienced an older male drill sergeant speaking to me so closely he could kiss me, and overall he just flirted with me and always kept an eye on me. I had one teach during my training make sexual comments during our class, repeatedly, and touched me during the lesson and I reported it and all my peers treated me like I was the plague. We weren't personal friends, but I knew her thru dozens of mutual friends, as well as we were friends on Facebook. All I ever heard about Denisha was how great of a person she was. How sweet she was, and how much she loved her children. i'm a U S Army Veteran Military Police Officer as well, so I'm familiar with how the Military cuts down investigations and covers up to protect some over others...With little or no resolution or justice. By all accounts, around town I've heard nothing but great things about Denisha. I pray for her family, her children, and I pray that her soul finds peace and rest. Our government needs to do a much better job at protecting our soldiers. Another loss is too many. ❤️💔
