- Hi Guys, today's review is on D&G Pour Homme made in France version and my bottle is 2017/2018 formulation. previously I have reviewed the vintage Sticker version from a decant and also made in UK version.I'm sharing the links below. this is a classic Men's fragrance Italian style, Id say Ribert De niro/Al Pacino of the fragrance game.If you love the note of tobacco, try this out, i compared the made in UK and Made in France version a bit.

I enjoy your videos Joy and you're one of the reviewers who's take I look forward to the most. Thanks for all you've done. I have been wearing D&G/For Men Pour Homme for a long time, at least since 2008. Till this day, it is truly the one fragrance that I always felt if any was a perfect compliment to me and if I could only keep one fragrance for life, it would in theory be the made in Italy formulaton.
The older Italy version had more of a sweet tobacco note to my nose that was sultry with a beautiful and bracing if you will lavender note with a musk citrus dry down that was perfect for anytime besides perhaps the hottest of days.
The Germany version retained much of that but I found it much more honey sweet and especially not the most enjoyable to wear when it's a Summer day.
The U.K. version had a brighter opening for a few minutes but it didn't smell nearly as quality as the previous versions and it absolutely had a watered down vibe, however it did retain the tarragon/lavender balance that I always would look forward to and would prompt me to smell my wrist over and over.
I purchased the Made in France version a few of months ago from Fragrancenet.com and it's spicier than the former made in U.K. version but not in a black pepper sort of way like the first couple of versions - but even with the made in U.K. shortcomings, particularly with the longevity which at times was aissmal after an hour or two, the scent was more enjoyable to me overall than the Made in France version. I still open my small Made in U.K. version to get a slight memory of the yesteryears of the original formulation. The Made in France version to me misses the special touch of what made the original so good in that the abrasive ye sexy lavender was what made it what it was for the most part and though the France version is more rounded and has much better quality than the U.K. version, I must admit that what was my signature scent for so long may become of thing of the past that I may not miss anymore and will just enjoy nostalgic memories of. Sometimes in the fragrance game we chase those first highs so to speak when we got the 4 compliments that weekend from the ladies and when one gave us a hug for an extra 10 seconds longer and when we had everyone in the room asking, "Who is it that smells so good?", but we must leave those moments and embrace the fondness for the time periods that they served us in.
Thank you for your review. P.S. I returned the Intenso version after a few days from what seemed so promising but had an unpleasant dirty herbal nature to it that I didn't enjoy and it was also not the greatest performer on me.
Waymon Brown wow you described the different versions to the t, the one thing with the German version was that the citrus notes are up in the top note and was overwhelming for me, but once it dried down it mellowed out and was similar to the OG. D&G fixed the opening on the UK version and blended the citrus notes better on the opening. I haven’t tried the France version yet and have high hopes for it, do you enjoy the UK version better? I still have a 4.2 oz bottle of the OG and use it sparingly. I have a full bottle of the UK and ordered the France version, I know Shesido bought the fragrance and is a very good fragrance house. Thanks for your insight on this classic scent, and I have been using it since it first came out in 1994.

I’ve been wearing this since I was a freshman in high school. 13 years later I still enjoy it and I’m on my 5th or 6th 200ml bottle
All formulations of this fragrance are good. Mild differences between them and they all receive compliments. The dry down of the UK version projects quite a bit and gets the most notice and compliments of all (despite all the ridiculous bad press it gets in fragcom).
My cousin has been using that since 1982 and says it last long and smell good. I think I better try it.

My SOTD! I have the Germany Dec 9, 2011 version. 1343 batch code. I used up a 2.5oz bottle and I’m using my 125ml Got a tester for a good price. I still might add the Parfum version

Dont be to afraid of the non sticker version ... is not that bad compared to the original imo.
It's a pretty good scent, but I think a 9 out of 10 is a little high for me. Maybe 7.5 out of 10. Definitely skews toward Versace Dreamer, but maybe even a slight similarity to a smoothed out Burberry London.

I just got my bottle in and it says made in Italy but has the design of all the non sticker versions, Could this be a return of something great?
I´m afraid the newest italian version doesn´t get much love on the internet. Some write the tabac is gone and performance is weak. I like the english version from about 2018 a lot, but have ordered a newer french backup.@@riveraedgy

Thank you for the review. I purchased a bottle which happened to be the batch made in France. It is ok, but nothing like the original made in Italy one! The original/vintage is a classic!
Some say Intenso is the closest to the original made in Italy. Any opinion on that?
I just purchased a made in france bottle and was somewhat disappointed because i had previously had a bottle of the made in uk version which was awful i would go as far as to say the made in uk bottle was an insult to the vintage made in italy and so i gave it away and after reading a few good reviews on the made in france formulation i just purchased a made in france bottle and my opinion is that it is not much different to the made in uk bottle .
How can you tell the difference between the France and UK versions? The bottom?
My favorite of all time. New release disappointing. Wearing it today. Weak projection for one hour. Skin scent now going on 4 hrs. Still love it!! Check out Alexandria Dolce I think. After the made in Italy, it was reformulated and made in Germany, then UK, now France, the best one is the original made in Italy, eBay prices are crazy for a 4.2 bottle $219.00 USD
That's because the vintage made in Italy formulation is literally liquid Gold. I would kill for a bottle of the vintage just for the nostalgia of it. It brings back so many memories of the 90's. I have had the made in uk (awful) and i currently have the made in france (not much difference to the made in uk) but i just can't bring myself to buy a vintage made in italy bottle off ebay, not because of the price but simply because i don't want to wind up purchasing a fake bottle as i have heard some bad stories of people being ripped off with a fake from ebay.
Your reviews are great, thanks for that. I bought this scent, I know the original version and the UK version. This France version is indeed better, close to the original. The longevity and sillage are rather still very weak. Within 1hour it is 100% gone. Perhaps you can smell it a bit from 1cm distance. The original version was a bit oily, it stayed quite long.
Is it worth buying the France version having a UK bottle?
Is it similar to versace Man?
My favorite fragrance of all time. However, all versions other than Italian, has been a disappointment. I am hoping this French version will bring back the magic. Great review, Joy.

By looking at your collection im assuming that most of your perfumes will get expired or go bad with time because you will not be able to finish them even in 10 years or so
They had a made in Germany one before made in the UK, both rubbish .. The French one is the next best 😍.. thank you for posting .. I still have about 10ml or so of the made in Italy ..
I love the english version a lot. But i´m glad to hear that the french one should be superiour, i just ordered 125ml french juice.

Italy with the sticker is the most desired, germany and uk Ive heard are not similar to the original (Italy) and france is the most recent, people say it’s longevity is not on par with Italy’s version.
I finish the France bottle an bought another bottle I got the Italy bottle an it smells totally different from the opening it more alcohol then you smel all the notes

Dont, all D&G frags became crap, its from the Shiseido Group now, cheap ingredients, from the bottle it smells good, on the skin you will notice how cheap those products are.
Forget those brands, they are not what they were.

Got some today. Made in France. Smells like Raid Insecticide. Gave me a headache. Sending it back.
I felt some similarities with Bvlgari BLV, not this version though.

when ever i smell this, i feel like godfather wearing white suit and hat in Italy.
France version ended up straight into the bin, actually not one product of the Shiseido Group was a succes to me so I stopped buying Shiseido products.

If you like it, keep it, but its a copy of the most worst version... the UK version.
Why to make a copy of the UK version and not of the Italian version?! Bc its too difficult for the Shiseido Groep.
I even got health problems with the France version, I didnt had that with the Italian version.
The sweet spot of the Italian version was in the warm part, while the France version is somewhere into the cold notes... its totally not in balance, its misplaced, its not at the right spot.
Besides, why to pay a lot of money for a fake frag, bc thats what it actually became, D&G isnt D&G anymore... I hate to say this, bc D&G was my brand for many many years, but D&G lost its magical since its not Italian anymore.

The Italian version does have 23 notes into it, the France version around the 10 notes... I guess you need to sort your nose out... dont you think?!

Like I said, I get health problems with the France version made by Shiseido Group, eye irritations, terrible headache and even was hitting my lungs.
Anyway... a parfum with 24 notes smells the same as one with 10 notes... keep on dreaming.
@Api Vaping Just for information: the 23 notes on Fragrantica for the Euroitalia version are incorrect. There is a video on RUclips of a gentleman comparing the Euroitalia version with today's Made in France version. This so-called gentleman has an Euroitalia tester who lists the notes on the bottle and these are pretty much identical. The same applies to Parfumo (in my opinion the best perfume database), there are no 23 notes here either.
Wow! Total fluke weirdness I haven't reached for this in almost 2 years and literally 30mins ago before this video popped into my feed I pulled this out of the very back corner of my drawer to spray it on paper to smell it again and decide if I feel like wearing it 🤷♂️🤣🤣👍 creepy...
I have to be honest i was very disappointed with this new made in france formulation. I had high hopes for it after reading a few reviews about it being an improvement from the dreadful made in UK formulation. But my honest opinion is i can not tell any difference between the made in france and made in UK versions. Both have that awful soapy opening scent and the dry down is almost identical as in they just smell like a half hearted watered down version of the flawless vintage made in Italy D&G pour homme. Although the made in france does have a slightly better longevity than the UK version but again both very disappointing.. what i wouldn't do to get my hands on a bottle of the vintage made in Italy formulation 😥
I'm so fucking sad. Bought a 125ML for this ... Made in France 2021 batch and it's trash.
