  • The characteristics of a fluid flow of air or water that transported and deposited sediments millions of years ago is responsible for a lot of the features we observe in sedimentary rock outcrops today. This is why we need to understand the behavior of fluid flows in order to better understand how sedimentary structures form!
    In today’s episode, we’ll discuss:
    -Laminar and turbulent flow
    -Reynolds number
    -Boundary layers and velocity profiles
    -Froude number
    -Flow regimes
Don’t forget to leave your comments! :)

Thank you for sharing with the poor. Millions love to learn, but can't afford college etc. Common sense observations of nature. The system of measurement however; is fantastic. We stand on the shoulders of giants. This video was "magnificent", truly "outstanding". Graphics / narration were crystal clear even for a (math dwarf) like me. I Think I have math skills of a slug, but even I can understand it when it's explained so beautifully : ) I've seen a lot of science videos, and this is fabulous. Extremely well done. Attention to detail, is very important. Clarity of writing on screen is super important. Nice and neat is very important. "Smoothness of lesson progression was excellent", making it clear, and organized, "much like a laminar flow". I hope some $billionaire funds a world wide project to teach the rest of us monkeys, "speaking for myself", how to calculation viscosity, flow, turbulence etc. One doesn't have to be an engineer to benefit from this knowledge. All civilization benefits enormously every time a new person learns about the forces of nature.

@Frosto31 You can set the 'velocity' / speed of the video lower in the settings.

I would agree. Fantastic video but to try and understand the teaching at that pace is challenging. Great if you already know the concept, but of you don't then very difficult.
