When we talk about foreground, we also need to think about how to focus. Lenses that allow manual focussing are helpful if they have a hyperfocal scale. They indicate that it is not optimal to focus at infinity, but rather at a third of the distance. You have to experiment in this respect and know the sweet spot of your lens well. Do you focus manually, Gary?
I do have some manual focus only lenses, and I manual focus only if I use these lenses. I agree that focusing at infinity especially for landscape photography isn't the best thing to do. I tend to find the hyperfocal distance of a specific lens at specific apertures, and I tend to focus at that hyperfocal distance to get the best result. I then adjust myself so that the point of interest in the image is covered by the hyperfocal focus area.
Well done. Thank you for this, Gary.
What a Beautiful video! Learned so much, so easily. Thank You for taking your time and teaching us this amazing concept. Teach us More, please!
Thank you for the video. I also prefer watching videos about photography techniques and composition, or photo walks.
OMG! Just saw your VLOGs list & some videos! Makes me want to buy a OLED TV to watch!
😁😁 thank you for watching
Hi Gary, although I love the handiness and compactness of the Lumix GX series, the Lumix G91 has become my favourite camera.
