Well SCOTUS is appointed so that wouldn't apply to them. The whole reason why they're in the position with the court is because they changed the appointment rules even after they were warned it would backfire on them. The term limits are described in the Constitution but are limited. The quantity of terms is not described nor is the issue of incumbancy dominance.
This doesn't mean we cannot do both; better described Congressional term limits *AND* new rules for SCOTUS judges. Right now SCOTUS only answers to itself...a branch with no term limits and little (if any) oversight by Congress.

Changing the Constitution is not dependent upon public polls.
It isn't, but ratifying that change is. 3/4 of states must ratify a Constitutional amendment. This is done by the state legislatures, who are elected by the public.

Talking about giving everyone Social Security! I am 72 years old, worked from 16 to 65, and a lot of those years I worked two jobs, worked to put myself through college while taking care of my son and elderly stepmother. Last night I figured out that if I were employed and received what I am being paid from Social Security I would only be earning $8.60 per hour. Believe me no one that doesn’t have to try to survive on Social Security does not think that the elderly get a fair deal. My rent, in an over 55 apartment building, was just raised from $665 a month to $983 a month! And that’s out of a monthly check of $1,391.00 from Social Security. If I were physically able to work I would be happy to but I can’t and I cannot stand it that so many young people would rather live off our Government than work an honest job!!!

4. CBO’s estimates do not currently fully account for the cost of President Biden’s wide-open southern border, as they do not capture the expenditures associated with illegal immigration at the state and local level.
a. The fiscal impact on state and local governments and communities should include the cost of localized crime and law enforcement, along with the state-based costs for housing, clothing, education, and providing health services for immigrants and their dependents.
5. Our country has a spending problem.
a. Revenues collected by the Treasury continue to exceed expectations. FY 2024 revenues are now projected to be $4.9 trillion, which is $538 billion or 12 percent higher than CBO expected when Biden took office and represents an increase of $1.5 trillion or 43 percent in just four years.

That is correct. In the last year of Obama's presidency, there was a vacancy in the Supreme Court, and Obama nominated Garland to fill the seat. The Republican Senate majority, led by McConnell, said they would not vote for anyone that Obama nominated because he was a lame duck president.
There are those who claim that, so long as the Republican Party maintained control of the Senate, they would have left the seat vacant during a potential Clinton presidency, waiting for a Republican to be in the White House. This is, on its face, entirely partisan.
This is 100% true, Merrick Garland was nominated for SCOTUS early in 2016 and Republicans refused to even hold a vote on him, citing it being an election year. Which, coincidentally, didn't matter to them when they rushed Barrett's confirmation.

It's a two step process. The president nominates and the senate confirms. The senate controls the confirmation process. If you don't like it. pass an amendment and let the people confirm directly. You can have candidates campaigning to fill the vacant seat in a special election.
