Another masterclass in watercolour from Tim Wilmot. It's the clever way he explains how to approach a really complex subject and at the same time reveals the secrets of his amazing fresh and spontaneous watercolour technique! Brilliant thanks Tim.

i especially like the human figures you place in your paintings. they provide scale and human interest

Very sturdy legs on the lone pedestrian. I’m impressed!

I really enjoyed this demonstration- what a hard subject but as usual you did it brilliantly. My 11 year old Grandson watched it with me as he is already a very keen artist and picked up lots of tips from you - thanks Tim

That’s superb. I’m on holiday in Cornwall and got myself a set of Sennelier half pans. Find it so difficult to not overwork. Loving your videos chap!

Don't work those pans too hard. Try tubes. Keep em fresh with a light spray. And stopes wear on your brushes.

A most difficult subject! Done well, I am sure they learned a lot and also learned to have courage in attempting a harbor scene jammed with boats. Bravo!

Inspiring! I am so impressed on how you visualize the end at the beginning, to be able to paint around negative spaces. The depth of field is amazing. I would not have foreseen the depth of the moored boats in the distance and your sky came out so beautifully. When you left the sky and started on the back ground, I wondered about that. I could not have invisioned that depth and how the clouds carry your attention all the way through the image. I salute you! Well done.

Thank you for your very kind words. I think I try to imagine the scene painted already when I am looking at that blank paper. Seems to work and thanks very much again. It was all about the depth.

This is amazing as always and probably one of the most complex scenes Tim. I followed with great attention but I still don’t know if those distant boats ( and they all look like boats) are suggested purely randomly with just dabs and lines or are you carefully following the photo and trying to make them look like boats. Brilliant Impressionism anyway.
