- See what it is like for the embarkation process at the Boston Cruise Port, aka the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal or officially, the Flynn Cruiseport Boston, via our cruise vlog. After arriving at the port at around 11 AM, boarding our cruise ship, the Holland America Veendam, took about half an hour which wasn't too bad at all.
First you drop off your large luggage, and then show your passports and cruise document/ticket to the gatekeeper. Next you are directed inside the terminal building, then go upstairs where you would go through an airport-like security screening. It was then you have to fill out some forms specific to your cruise- in our case, the ship was going to Cuba, so we had to ensure that the affidavit forms were all filled out and signed. You then go to the check-in counter, provide the documents and receive your room key cards. Soon after that you should be able to board the cruise ship.
It was time to eat lunch after boarding, so we showed a sampling of what was available on the Veendam buffet and what we ate. About 2 hours later, and shortly after the muster drill, it was time to sail away. See the beautiful Boston Harbor, including views of the Boston Skyline, and Logan International Airport, including several that flew overhead such as a Jetblue A320.
It was a great start to our June 2018 Cuba cruise for 14 days! If you have any questions or comments please post and we'd be happy to reply!
This video answered my questions about how the cruise terminal works! Thank you so much. It might be different depending on your cruise ship, but to learn what goes on pre-boarding, this video really helps. Thank you!
Our pleasure- thank you very much for the comment, and have a great cruise! 🙂
I've never sailed out of Boston before....great coverage of the port and sail away. Great shots of the planes at Logan Airport. Thanks for posting.
You bet! Appreciate you watching and commenting- thanks!
Great Video. It was easy and great going out of this port. Way better than Manhattan. If I were to go out of here again and was driving I would not bother to use the luggage drop off and just park and bring our luggage over.
Yeah we were impressed by the speed at the port as well. Disembarkation was one of the fastest ever. The Veendam is a smaller cruise ship with around 1300 guests so that helped but still we were very happy with the efficiency by the staff at port. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks very good work
Thank you so much! 🙏
I Love The LifeBoats!!!!!!!!!
Oooo... I thought the thumbnail was a mini ship next to a real ship. But it's apparently a real ship next to a port. :)

What was your position for HAL if I may ask?
@@TravelTouristVideos security
I’m sure usually things go smoothly, but did you or your team ever had to deal with rowdy guests?
Where did you park?
We were dropped off by ride share, but you can look into parking here: www.massport.com/flynn-cruiseport/to-from-flynn-cruiseport/parking-directions/
Are the walking distance very long ? So oldster ask for chair service ?
I would say it’s about a quarter mile walk including the terminal and the gangway. Cruise lines are very good generally with providing assistance.
do i have to take stuff off for cruise ship security?
Nope- you'd just put items like phones & cameras into a bin they provide to scan.
How many times are your tickets checked from the time you arrive at the terminal until you board the ship?
After check in they will give you your room key cards. Then as you proceed towards the ship, security at I think it was 2 places will as you to show the cards. Then as you set foot on the ship, the ship's security will scan your card and then you're all set!
@@TravelTouristVideos So from the time you arrive at your terminal, till after you board the ship, how many times will your tickets be checked?
Where do you park your car?
We flew into Boston and took a ride-share, but there are parking lots nearby.
TravelTouristVideos , got ya. Thank you for the response. 👍🏻
Hello! I would like some help booking a cruise from boston for my spouse and I, is there a way we could get in contact? thank you!
Hi- we're not travel agents, just fellow travelers 🙂
Screw NYC and Miami's Cruise Ports Boston's is cool. Seeing those planes landing and taking off from the cruise ship is very cool.
I want 😊
Planes in this video and the ship has to stop to let the plane landing.
The cruise ship does sail pass the super-busy Boston Logan airport but the planes do fly quite a bit over the ship so there was no need for it to stop. But it made for some nice views!
TravelTouristVideos Off course and you drove to Boston for this Cuba cruise.
