Jordan is a real guy, his delivery and rapping isn’t that good but his reputation and authenticity makes people like him more, struggle rapper
Thing you got to remember about Jordan is he hadn't been rapping long when this came out. You can still tell by his body language that he's nervous at times.

I get what you saying about the delivery but nah its not at all believability effecting it, if anything thats the appeal. He showed up to the studio with no beats so the beats were provided for him by charlie which is why he sounds off beat. And its no secret hes not the greatest rapper in terms of technical ability. I'm not a big fan of Jordan as by his own admission, he's pretty novice as a rapper, particularly at this early time.
I understand the following though because of how raw and real it is and the fact that he was already notorious for his street life before he ever rapped.
Also, realistically he represents a big demographic in the UK and potentially elsewhere of white street guys who are really about that life but where there's alot of black trench rappers, so will be potentially dividing a demographic who would relate the most strongly, there is less white trench rap to compete with, particularly in the UK.
Also an element of novelty, there's less high profile regional accent rappers, ie not a London accent and for me the Manc accent really works in rap, which has also helped pop rapper Aitch blow up pretty quickly with average rap ability but the cheeky persona carries him. (Salford is part of Greater Manchester with historically high levels of poverty and crime, although its developing fast and is on the rise financially).
There's real issues with gun and grenade violence in certain areas in the north west of England, probably more so per head than any other area of England so again, this kind of artist was overdue and awaited to represent that in ways other than just shooting and exploding ish.
