- Join us for another Virtual First Friday right here beginning at 4:30 p.m. on September 4. This month, we are pleased to present “A Conversation with Nancy Crow.”
“Drawings: Monoprints and Riffs” is now on display at the International Quilt Museum. This exhibition showcases two types of contemporary quiltmaking created by artist Nancy Crow in the period of 2011-2020. During this time, Crow focused on monoprints and machine-pieced quilts. All are explorations of color and balance, form and texture, visual tension and meaning. Crow considers these works to be quilted drawings.

Most enjoyable! So glad to be introduced to Ms. Crow's work. There's a calligraphic quality to these pieces that is quite intriguing. There is lots of light in the pieces, too. The work of Mark Tobey popped into my head while viewing these pieces as well. I am definitely going to dig deeper into and exploring mono-printing on fabric. Thank you IQM!

Great interview; thank you - this is all so inspirational. I love the work and your approach, Nancy Crow - and the riffs on the railroad track theme are fascinating. I could see how you could riff on that for a very long time. The works are exquisite. I love how you made space for your artistic process and stuck with yourself no matter what.
