    Гениально! Закрыть стену из облицовочного кирпича пенопластом, а сверху прилепить на штукатурку имитацию облицовочного кирпича! За эту же цену (а скорее даже дешевле) можно было сразу построить толстую стену с утеплителем внутри!

      The application isn’t for modern brick wall houses. It’s for the 100 year old brick houses that have terrible insulation. I’ve seen some brick homes near the coast that have dried seaweed hanging over small nails. You could have this as an option or you could tear walls down from the inside just to rebuild. This might be the only option for some.

    So, you covered my beautiful bricks with jism and pantyhose, so you could cover that with ugly bricks? For what kind of R-value?

    • @Hypercube9
      @Hypercube9 5 лет назад +1

      I did something similar to the inside of my house. I was repairing a hole in a wall when I noticed I had ZERO insulation between the studs! Apparently that's not too unusual with some older houses. So all I had was a reflective vapor barrier and some 3/8" drywall (aka. not even to code) which explains why I could hear the traffic from the highway so well. I ripped everything down 3 bays at a time since it was a particularly cold winter, spray foamed every crack and behind every outlet. Filled each bay with R-15, covered that with a vapor barrier, and then bought some 4'x8'x1.5" sheets of EPS foam board that was an R-5.8 I think.
      The stuff in the video looked to be about twice as thick as that plus you have the fake brick work, so I'd say that added R-13 to whatever they had before which if that brick wall was the ONLY thing between the inside and the outside would have been completely necessary! Common 4" bricks have an R-value of 0.8!!! And I used to live in a house like that with a shower/tub on the other side and in the winter our shampoo bottles would freeze if we left them on that side of the shower! Basically, they would have been bringing an external brick wall up to code. My way cost $34 for each 4'x8' section of insulation and drywall. I'm guessing this system cost FAR more!
      FYI, like 25% of a house's external walls is made up of just wood studs that have an R-value of about 3 or 4. So your "to code" house with r13 insulation is more like an R-10. Newer houses with 6" walls have R-6 studs and there are fewer of them if they're 23" on center vs just 16" plus thicker insulation in the bays. Insulation is one of the few home improvements which will actually pay for itself! I already had R60 in the attic and R30 in the floor, so having un-insulated walls made no sense to me what-so-ever. (I'm in Michigan, but I'm as insulated now as people in Northern Canada!)

    That wheelbarrow design still sux because a unitrack transference is still grossly and inherently unstable. If you want to add a second wheel, do it side by side for greater stability.

    • @myname4598
      @myname4598 5 лет назад

      Looks like their idea was to lighten the load that the worker had to carry, but side by side wheels are more stable. Looks like they could just shift the axle more to center to balance the weight.

      Plus it will not be nearly as high a range of steering. Think about getting a bicycle around a 90 corner vs. a unicycle. The bicycle needs a lot more room or it's rear end lifted. If you're going to do this, might as well get a 4 wheel cart.

      Thinking the same thing. If you want to increase insulation effectiveness, do it from the inside.

    • @bmatic2069
      @bmatic2069 5 лет назад +1

      this is best way to insulate building - quite common - in this case they used what looked like nice brick wall but in majority of cases that we did it would be old building that needs insulation so doing this way would improve exterior as well as insulate building. Another reason doing it outside is that minimise disruption inside of the building (for example electrical sockets, switches etc would have to be relocated) - residents would have to leave while the work is done inside. It doen inside it would also mean loss of internal space which could make difference to small room. There is number of other reasons - no cold spots or cold bridges etc etc...

    • @MikeBaxterABC
      @MikeBaxterABC 5 лет назад

      @@bmatic2069 Very logical! .. I understand ... but emotionally, it still feels wrong, I'm not a fan of this style of construction, but I agree it is very cost-effective. And you know what, not a big deal to remove if someone wanted to restore the building to original .. thanks for the reply.

    • @franzglock4231
      @franzglock4231 5 лет назад +2

      I do not agree. By the clean new look it was probably not an old brick house, so the brick tiles are just a small step more fake than the original and look about the same.

    The pliers look like they will chew up hex head bolts overtime making it impossible to use a box end wrench.
    The styrofoam insulation over the bricks with plastic connectors is crap. At least use some adhesive . A mechanical bond only ,is asking for future trouble.
