Oh boi a semi guide on my main lol. I definitely like some other guy in the comments below disagree with placing ex trap in beginner section. As especially midscreen cag really struggles to get any kind of combo game going without pre placed traps or raging strike/meter. and ex trap is a critical piece of the midscreen cag raging strike combo, which allows you to land a ulti spear as a ender for a hkd setup into a 50/50 high low mix while staying plus. While the combo relevancy might be a bit out of reach for a beginner, the sheer utility of being able to put a trap down after every kd to seal off space or use traps as part of a 4 layer zoning kit (rock, spear, anti air, trap) is important to keep even as a super beginner. Cag's zoning is extremely tough to deal with for characters without a full screen projectile call out tool (ulti fireball, full screen super etc...) and even then making your opponent spend at least 25 meter on what is essentially a guess is pretty damn useful.

Thanks, I just tried to make super beginner as basic as possible but I have to conceed what you said makes a lot of sense. Thanks. Might on this comment tbh.

Thanks for explaining it better than I could, lol. Having traps available to control space or apply pressure on wakeup/block is so useful, and I always feel much more vulnerable for the brief periods I don't have them.

This is a great start, though I definitely take a bit of issue with telling beginners to start with EX traps. They're great, but with how essential the traps are to neutral, I feel like it's a bad habit to just throw them out and put them on cooldown. It's too easy to either get hit and lose them (and then not have any at all for some time), or hit them and then end up away from the traps.

personally as a cag player i feel like itll cause players to try different options instead of sitting behind traps all game but i could be wrong who knows (i play a pretty hyper aggressive cag so maybe im just the weirdo)

Actually, I wanted the traps to be on cd to force new players to be aggressive with cag. In the current state of the game, pressure and aggression are a must. A super new cag getting limited by using traps as a cruch will be bad for them in the long run. On top of that her zoning tools are definitely not the best compared to other characters meaning you should get used to using other tools other than traps. Idk if that clarifies. I pinned a comment that is similar to yours.
