Went over this with my middle schoolers today. Went well but i like your instruction and feel like i can add a little bit to help them out tomorrow. Such a simple move and i feel it can help my less aggressive kids in the neutral position.
Did this in high-school wrestling in the 90's. It was my move. Once taken down with you behind, use their natural tendency to pop up to your advantage. As soon as they start to stand, sink your legs into a figure of the body. Your arm goes to their throat, use your weight and leverage to fall back into a rear naked choke/crossface. Great for submission, or get back points. If for points, roll to the other side release and re-grip. It's a hard position to pin from. For submission or points, it works well.
I was taught this move a by an experienced wrestler. I had just started a BJJ gym with zero experience in BJJ and wrestling. I was impressed on how many times I was able to take people down --including blue belts--from standing up or even on my knees. Just mastering one move can make you a force to be reckoned with. nice explanation in this video by the way..
Thanks for this video man! I've been using it this way ever since I watched and has worked 95% of the time. Just completed my first BJJ tournament and used this technique for the duck under followed with a sit down take down and finished with a rear naked choke. This is now one of my best transitions to clinching from behind so thanks for the video man!
It's not like the double leg.... you can't force the duck under. You have to set it up. When you're circling and he decides to tie up you hit it when he puts his weight on his arm and steps forward. It's a timing move. You can attack the ankles then hit the duck under. Many ways to use it.

Very helpful in taking the back. Seems like a nice go-around for submission.
Helped me a lot because I tried to hit a duck from a tight collar tie instead of ducking when they react
You can do that as long as you have inside control
nice breakdown of the move
Great freakin video helpped me alot
Nice instruction.
