This was filmed when the museum was still at Beverley if I'm not mistaken.I recognise the display boards and desert diorama at 1:36.Such a shame it closed and the buildings were razed to the ground.I most likely did see this Antar at museum, but I don't really remember it well.
He reckoned that they weren't used on the roads in this country !!! I was at X1X Tank Transporter Squadron 1971/72 in Bulford, Wiltshire and an annual run was from Felixtowe to Castle Martin ranges in South Wales with a convoy of German tanks. Nice little run for 3 weeks.
You are right Martin, you will remember parking up at Saundersfoot then I am still in touch with Leighton Lucas,i wonder if the Red Lion is still going in Wetherby, good times.
Some very incisive and probing questions- really made the man have to think hard for good answers. "What war was this in?" Probably, judging by its age, the war between the sexes. The women won that one- hence the gender of the interviewer.
The No 2 Antar was still being used in the 1970s by 617 squadron MSO at Falingbostle I was in 3 squadron RCT at the time.
MK 2!
