@@SevenSixTwo2012 unfortunately yes, unless they invest in an American facility. Which we all know will never happen. Which I don’t blame them for. It would still cost $60k a truck, and they will never recoup there money from the plant investment.
Last time Suzuki came to America, they tried to sell sedans... to compete with Toyota and Honda.... HEY SUZUKI... "STAY IN YOUR LANE" build these little trucks, and YOU WILL put a lock on the Tacoma factory door... Meaning you will STEAL THEIR BASE.... DO IT, I DARE YOU...
Had an SX4. Put 180k miles on it. It was still in decent shape but I sold it when I heard they were getting out of the US market. They need to come back and bring this trucklet with them.
Main reason they left was some guy after his nephew died being stupid in one cooked the books to make them look like they roll over if you fart in their general direction, when they were in fact less likely to roll over than most SUVs of the era
Keep it simple, reliable and most important of all, AFFORDABLE. We will buy it. Fancy symbols of affluence do not do a darn bit of good for those of us without affluence.
Unfortunately you are right it looks like it could be Very successful looking like this and for this reason we won’t build it.thanks for getting our hopes up why do you torcher us with this pickup Why. 😩
That’s what Toyota should be making. Remember, Jeep sued Suzuki saying they were dangerous and top heavy. So I doubt Suzuki will ever come back and the EPA will be sure of it.
People loved the Suzuki Samurai, me and my buddy used to work on my girlfriends and we turned into a totally sweet lifted ride. This version looks awesome, build it, we will buy it.
The Jimny still lives outside of the US market. I drove a 2023 in Guatemala last year…they are awesome!….sure with Suzuki wouldn’t have gotten sued out of the country…
It’s such bull shit, I really wish they would bring the Jimny to the US, it would crush. Also if they actually made this Jimny truck in the states it would crush as well.
The "Pleasure Police" here in the USA will never allow us to purchase one of these, due to "Safety" concerns. We are children in their eyes, as they know best.
It was the pleasure police that drove me to move to Mexico and check out what I saw just last week A Nissan titan with a Cummings diesel in it Oh yeah, you can also get Toyota tundra with a diesel motor in it US lost so much liberty because people want a nanny
Suzuki samurai......most favorite vehicle I've ever owned. Wonderfully simple, affordable parts, good fuel efficiency...just a great all around vehicle.
For the American market I don't see how they can sell that particular configuration for under $25K, especially considering the strict safety and emission requirements here.
That's so true for most on acreage. None the less this Suzuki unit certainly appeals to me as a general runabout for 2 or more people, wet & smelly dog plus luggage in the rear ARB (yet to be designed fibreglass Canopy). It would also need a better motor than the current Jimny plus of course a bigger fuel tank. Mmm sounds like I'm starting to talk myself out of it. Damn!
In order to bring back the Samurai they’d have to make it as large as a jeep. The roll over safety standards is what killed the Samurai, had to remove the back seat.
Not true, the samurai never rolled. The car magazine that did the test, weakened the suspension to force it to roll. I had a sidekick and have done power slides in it. It would not roll or tip unless you hit something going sideways. Which will make any car rollm
Had a Samurai hardtop 4x4 . 25 mph and light and nimble. When 1rst came out was the cheapest vehicle to insure. Kids and consumer reports killed it in America. Shame really, it was a nice off road vehicle
Definitely build it and keep it simple. I mean that's what overland and desert crawlers need when going out. Something that can be fixed on the trail not weighing 3 tons.
I had a JDM 1993 Jimny. Turbo 3 cylinder, fuel injected. Was a great little jeep. Just couldn't cruise on the highway. I recall 4000 rpm at 50 mph. Offroad, it can't be beat for 3 times the price. Have a Mitsubishi Minicab now that will do 60 mph with high/low transfer case and 4 wd. I love the Jimny's though.
I drove the new nd with 175km/h on the Autobahn. Its much better than my samurai. But I will change to a KW or Bielstein suspension for better comfort.
I have an original SJ413 KJA - yep old school long chassis pick up. I’d love to get a new Jimny & chop it up to make a copy of the old SJ. Suzuki got it right with the retro boxy look, so much more then any other manufacturer doing the ‘retro’ look. & as it’s a proper 4x4, not some wannabe SUV, it’ll actually do what it says it can. I love my KJA & I’d love a Jimny KJA just as much.
I am still driving my 3rd Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker (all '91-'92), my grandfather bought one brand new in '91. I have been waiting for DECADES for the Jimny to come to the US because the 'Kicks will start disappearing soon. Luckily grey-market '99 model Jimnys are making their way into the states.
Yep I guarantee it would be an instant success they sell thousands upon thousands upon thousands of them but they got to be tougher than hell and they got to be priced right
Actually reminds me of the 80’s Samurai. This truck could have a lot of potential, yes the Samurai had its issues but it was built during a horrible time for automobiles. And it’s 2 major design flaws was wheel base was to small for stability (this truck seems to have corrected that issue) the other flaw was the Samurai had a pitifully small engine
I bought a Jeep Wrangler Sahara in 89 and considered the Samurai back then. Glad I got the Jeep. Samurai was not durable, hardly any still on the road. My Jeep still is 35 years later.
I am a Mini Cooper owner and like a small platform, but would love a Suzuki truck for more off road. Make it like you have it here and make it a decent price and they will sell to young and old alike. Make it all wheel drive and wide enough not to flip over ( Mini Coopers are hard to flip). Your time has come Suzuki.
The Suzuki sierra utes/trucks are the bomb, I’m not sure when they stopped making them, the latest model we have is about 1985 I think, great for work in the bush. Most people on stations use them for mustering as they are light and fast, and pretty easy to maintain mechanically. Especially the 1 litre models.
I have a 1998 suzuki stockman 1 ltr in mid west australia, it has done 31000 klms total in its life , i am 2nd owner , was stored by org owner for about 20 yrs , motor was rebuilt as rings had lost compression
Solid axles.... they should definitely do it... don't know why toyota doesn't go back to what made them great the small 4 cylinder solid axle truck.... I had to buy a jeep $$$$

CAFE regulations wont allow a return of a mini truck any time soon. There is a reason why small trucks such as the Ford Maverick and Hyundai's Santa Cruz are not really a small truck.
Oh Ya Bing it. A Light weight hunting SUV. Great gas milage meets function to challenge the Jeep. The only way you bring the price down on something is offer a clone cheaper .
There are 98 Suzuki Auto dealerships in the United States as of January 17, 2024. The state and territory with the most number of Suzuki Auto locations in the US is Pennsylvania, with 16 dealerships, which is about 16% of all Suzuki Auto dealerships in the US.

Great little video but the AI voice really lets videos like this down. As for the Jimny Ute scale it up a bit with a bigger motor and it would be super handy and very practical.
For the love of God Suzuki!! BUILD IT! WE WILL COME!! With actual live axles, 2Hi, 4Hi, 4Lo, and a decent 4 cylinder turbo and manual trans!!

Suzuki was a Great rig, miss em…😮😢
It already exists in foreign markets
I’m moving to Mexico there it is happy
Absolutely needed in America and it's time is NOW
America wants to outlaw citizens using cars so it’s making rules to make. The car is more expensive so the common man can’t afford them.
Now that Jimny Truck is absolutely perfect. That is the style and look so many people would kill to drive in the States.

*Jeep* sued someone for building top-heavy, dangerous vehicles?! Have they seen the shit that comes out of their own factories?? 😆
Jeep didn't sue Suzuki. Consumer Reports said the Samurai was prone to rollover accidents and Suzuki sued Consumer Reports for libel.
People loved the Suzuki Samurai, me and my buddy used to work on my girlfriends and we turned into a totally sweet lifted ride. This version looks awesome, build it, we will buy it.
SUZUKI BUILDS QUALITY STUFF.

Even in the $39-35k it would be a seller.
It's so much better looking than those two sissified so called pick-ups...
Come on, Suzuki, come back to Canada. I would love one of these vehicles.
A single cab would be more practical as a farmer's truck, with the greater load capacity.
