    • @chimericalical
      @chimericalical 5 лет назад +5

      Nachy just focus on basics first.
      Like in MVC2 I started with Blackheart as my anchor. All that I really needed to know was how to push block and that hard kick and hard punch threw out demons also his anti air assist was one of the best in the game.
      Doing and knowing just that helps a lot. I show that to new players at this barcade that had the game and they quickly get an edge over their friends just knowing those basics with one character in a 3v3 fighter.
      Then just knowing which assists to have for cover fighter during neutral helps. Sure, they can be used to extend combos as well, but working on cover and zoning is simpler and easier to help you get into the game.
      Things like that, just learn basics first, then do the more advanced things afterwards.

      I'm Justin Y. & I Post Pointless Trash it’s pretty fun. I’ve yet to run into anyone who can beat me in MK2, MK3, SF2CE, SF2T, or MvC2 in the two near me....
      Well no one who can beat me when I use my mains or a counter pick. Only a few rare souls who’ve forced me to use my main or a counter pick to win.
      The fun part is trying to show someone the most simple and basic thing they can do to win. They’re stumbling new into MvC2 like I was when it came out... only worse, they’re drunk and don’t play fighting games much. So my job is to show them it’s not so hard to play with the basics and it’s actually pretty fun.

    this is a really good video. i love how the little clips PERFECTLY illustrate what's being said, like when you're talking about ways around neutral and you show how tokido beat punk at evo 2018. for people who might not understand that clip, punk was playing karin, a character which excels at playing footsies, and punk is a player with one of the most solid understandings of the neutral game around. tokido's character, akuma, is no slouch in the neutral game, and tokido as a player is amazing as well, but he's arguably worse than punk at just playing a straight up game. so, tokido used akuma's ways AROUND the neutral game to destroy punk.

      Glad you're getting so many recommendations! If the other ones aren't your speed, Under Night In-Birth Exe Late[st] is another good game, with a healthy community, that's a little different from the other 3 posts 😂

    Hey, Jared. Good stuff. I've been binge-ing your fighting games analysis videos for a couple of days now and I think you did a great job explaining all the fighting game concepts that even a beginner can understand. Hats off to you man :)

    As a button masher of 20 years, this has been a better lesson than any fighting game tutorial. Thanks!

    This is seriously one of the best fighting game analysis videos of all time and my favorite video on the channel.
    Even though the video is about "Why Mashing Doesn't Work" it ends up dissecting fighting games to its very core; frame data, footsies, movement, etc
    so good.

    Button mashing is so serious that it's age restricted.

    Masterpiece. Fantastic breakdown of obtuse and genre-specific mechanics. Hope I can get my friends into fighting games, and I'll for sure show them this as a tutorial.

    This is the video I sent to my non-fighting game friends so they can start approaching the game from an open-minded, analytical standpoint. So they can start respecting it and then start playing differently. In my experience, telling non-fighting game friends that button-mashing isn't useful usually comes across as you just being a snob, despite the fact that it's not working for them. That's why I think the opening of this video, that conpares the ludicracy of it to games that are mainstream is so amazing in hooking them to keep watching, due to repeatability. AMAZING job!
