- Category 5 Hurricane Milton is barreling towards SW Florida. We’re feverishly preparing for the storm surge and winds expected in Cape Coral, hoping this isn’t worse than Hurricane Ian just 2 years ago.
Very best of luck to you from a former resident of Cape Coral and avid boater. Love your videos! May God be with you.
Omg, those storms, just won't stop. Your quite prepared. Prayers this storm quiets down.
Democrat designed
Great idea with your bow anchors and lines… we will be praying for you guys.
Our prayers go out to you two, to keep you and your property safe.
Great thorough prep work…heck, what more could you do?? Thanks for sharing it. Once the storm passes, as long as you guys are Ok,,,,everything else don’t matter👍. 🙏for yall.
Good Luck Captain. Our well wishes are with you.
Praying for guys and all of Florida
Stay safe. I'm off vets and surfside on the canal. All locked down. I'm about ten or 11 feet up so I'm praying Milton eases up. I'm out of town hoping to fly back Friday morning. Be praying for everyone in fl. As long as I see your videos during these next few days I know we're surviving.
as a long time Floridiain, spring line across the canal is brilliant. maybe put it higher up the palm tree. bury the anchors if you can. but give some slack to all the lines. assume your boat goes straight up 10'. then prepare to get the hell out of there. you cannot save the house from water/surge only get trapped by it.... and take your pets - they are permitted at the shelters...PS I survived Andrew - by luck, not skill.... so good luck... be safe
Thanks. If we get 10 feet I’m toast.
We will be praying for you and your crew from California Tom.
My home is Venice, about 1.5 miles from the coast. The boat is in a rack. Flew out yesterday, as they are closing the Venice Airport as of the end of the day today. Hoping for the best in this situation. Best of luck to you!
Wow, these last years have been tough. I wish you guys the best.
My wife and I were talking about getting a bigger boat or keeping our 2655 on a trailer for cheaper insurance and the ability to keep it out of danger. I'm praying for you guys!
Good luck guys! Wishing you the best.
Good Luck Tom and Bridgett and Matey will be thinking of you guys thanks for the update stay safe alk in michigan
Be praying for u guys keep in touch & updates ! All the best to you guys! 😮😮😮😮
Prayers you guys don’t get any damage and stay safe! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Praying for you guys down there, stay safe!
Good luck Tommy, got everything crossed for you guys 🤞🏻. Stay safe
Prayers for you guys! Stay safe!!
Capt Tom, youve done probably as much as you can, not sure what is better, taking the boat out of the water or leaving it in the water, i have always been a fan of leaving it in the water just tying it well like you did. My Prayers are with you, again. Good Luck and be Safe, Take Care, Sir!
Stay strong Brother! Your looking great!
Keeping you and your family in our prayers 🙏🙏🙏. Nice Vlog to keep us all updated
We have family in the Tampa (Brandon)area, and they too have decided to ride it out. Y’all are adding to my gray hair!!! Stay safe ❤🙏🏻
I’m just north of you in Venice. I hope you all stay safe and are unscathed by Milton! 🙏🏼
Hope all goes well. I'll be watching via security cameras until the power goes out!
Please stay safe and God bless you guys 👏👏👏
Good luck! You've got this.
Best of luck. We are praying for you. We have been following you since you went south. From New York.
Living here in the Caribbean, you get a real sense of the power of a hurricane. If it’s a cat 5 direct hit then, like Irma, nothing that you do to the boats in the water will make any difference. Hopefully Milton will lose some power and go a little further north away from you. If, by tomorrow it still looks ominous then finish your storm prep and then get out of there. You can’t do anything to “save the house and boats” once the storm hits. They can be replaced. Your priority is to keep Brigit and Matey safe, please don’t leave it too late to evacuate.
Thinking about you up here in Wisconsin. Hope you and the Mrs. stay safe. Really enjoy your videos so we’re crossing our fingers that the boats stay safe as well.
God bless you all!
Stay safe hoping for the best you guys.
Hi Tommy this is Steve and Robin aboard Robin's Nest down here in South Naples at a marina called Port of the Islands, which is very protected. We are also making a lot of preparations and I think what you are doing is a great idea with the anchors.
Good luck up there. We still might have another one following this called Nadine. This crap is for the birds, people are becoming hurricane shocked.
I’m keeping my house like this until hurricane season is over. Lol. Wait until you see what I did to the house.
Praying for you guys. You’re prepping very well. Looking forward to you guys being back out on the water.
I just heard Milton is a Cat 5 Hurricane with 180mph winds. That's insane. And the storm surge is even worse? Good luck and best wishes. Hope this isn't nearly as bad as it seems at the moment.
I'm in Lakeland, this one makes me nervous. Good luck guys.
Good luck! Marco here. Not fun. Enough of these storms already!
WOW Wish you the best sir.. My heart is with you !
We’ll be thinking of you two down there! Good luck! Keep us updated!
The boats look like they are pretty secure but I think I would have run them both north. II's a crap shoot...best of luck! And I'll do a shot for you for good luck!
Wishing you the best, and I hope the storm surge is lower than forecasted. Also, the storm surge you displayed showed higher than 9 feet, which could mean significantly higher. That could mean more than a few inches in your house, as in several feet. Be safe, and good luck
God Speed my friend! You guys can't catch a break. Your set up looks great. Keep the Admiral and Matie safe, Skipper!
Stay safe. Love your videos. Update us through the storm. My house is in the northwest but it is built up over 12 feet.
These storms are what keep me as just a snowbird from Jan-April. I am in Connecticut and would love to buy a property in FLA but I just can't justify these risks. I get hammered renting 4 months every year since 2019 but feel less stress this way.
Be safe. We got out hurricane shutters up today.
You've done a great job taking care of your boats.
Be safe man. This storm looks tough.
Thinking about you all, stay safe.
You have a good set up to weather the storm. Good luck and be safe...
Prayers!
Best of luck to you! Thoughts and prayers for you all from Charleston SC…..
Good luck to you, hoping for the best for you guys !!!!!
Hope everything works out for you guys
Thinking about you guys. Stay safe and keep us all posted.
God Speed and hope for the best....
Good luck. Praying for all of you.
I’ll be praying for you guys and everyone in the path ..
They have sandless bags that expand when wet. I was able to source five bags will place on my double doors in the family room. May want to purchase those have them up to 17 feet long and are reuseable. Home Depot and Amazon have them in the event want to sand bag doors around the house. Good luck and stay safe.
Good luck!!
Good luck be safe. Just a thought, might want to but bright orange flags on the line going across the canal. Can’t hurt.
We are at end zone f canal. Only 2 boats past me and they not going for ride anytime soon! Lol
This one looks like the real deal bud be safe down there
I use mobile home tie down anchors. They are easy to install and extract when it passes.
That was considered but I used what I had. Maybe next time. Can’t believe I’m saying that.
Prayers to you from Maryland.
Not again!!! We just came out of the cone in West Palm, be safe!
Good luck. Be safe.
Sending prayers your way cap, stay safe!
I would say that you have definitely done everything you can do. Best of luck to you guys.
Is the paddleboard secure?
Best wishes my friends. Hoping for your safe passage thru the storm
Stay safe !! Prayers for all !!
That's quite an eloboate set up. Best wishes
It looks like you’re well on your way to having your boats prepared. If Milton is projected to hit further south, I hope you have a contingency plan. Stay Safe!!!
Wishing you the best. You might want to flag your spring line going across the canal to your neighbors yard. In case someone isn’t aware you did that and hopefully no other boats break loose and catch it. Again prayers for all.
I am a bit concerned about things snagging it. But being at end of canal no boats go by on purpose.
In the Mighty name of Jesus, Protect the People Lord, Calm the storm, Redirect and quell it, Cover your Children Father God
Great job, especially those spring lines 👍
I heard there's a mandatory evacuation order for Lee County zones A and B, dony know if that affects you?
Really pray rhis isn't as bad as expected... 🙏
I’m in A and I’m staying.
I guess you’re good already
Be safe out there not looking to good right now
Hi Tom. I would need enough anxiety meds to sedate a moose. Don’t know how you do it. Stay safe.🇨🇦
Stay Safe
Thinking of you guys! Stay safe! We’re heading your way next Friday. Renting a house on the canals in Cape Coral.
Stay safe cap and I hope is not as bad as they are predicted and the eye of the hurricane will be in my area that's scary
Question: Are boats safer up on the lifts during a hurricane? I would have guessed that they are safer from the surge but more vulnerable to the winds.
Depends how bad the wind and surge. It’s a crap shoot.
God bless.
We are close to you, from what I guess.
If it floods our house, as Ian did, we might have to sell. I can't afford to rebuild and refurnish again, and I am not sure I have the energy for it.
I hope you have a Starlink to keep us updated.
I hate how cable, cell, water and power went down after Ian. My wife thought my dog and me were dead.
The cross line is a good idea but, I hope no one is going out. Also, it looks like some of the lines might be too tight, maybe give some a bit of slack (?), for the surge.
God's speed.
Good luck, captain 🙏🏻
The very best of luck to you guys - I hope it loses its strength as it approaches, which is what quite a few of the forecasters are saying...
Good Luck. Pucker factor be gone in 3 days. Hope you dodge another one. The ultimate spring lines...good idea.
Good Luck!
Fingers crossed and prayer said.
Is the BBQ attached well enough to withstand the wind without damaging the attachment point?
Should be. I also tied a line around it. I may remove tomorrow. Good catch.
Be safe. 🙏🙏 This thing is a monster.
Be careful someone doesn’t get caught at night on the spring line across the canal!
Good luck…..I think I will be saying by to my boat in Bradenton…Docks will float off pylons…Just have Bridget hold down the anchor during the storm
RADAR arch on the XL stays up? Good luck you three.
It is more durable when up. When down it wiggles back and forth so it’s probably best left up.
Godspeed. Did you consider flooding the dinghy with water so it won't blow around? It was a thought that I had while watching your video. Great call on deploying anchors. Good luck.
How high of a surge can you get before house flooding?
6-7 foot surge over mean tide.
Hey man that line going to your neighbors palm might be problematic. If any other boats/debris break free and hit that line it's just going to cause damage to your boats.
Tom-you do NOT want to ride out a CAT5.Thats beyond what you’ve seen before-if you were inland away from water that’s one thing.Being right on that canal is a whole other thing.Even though Tampa is in the bullseye that can change in a heartbeat. If they tell you to leave PLEASE heed that warning.Too many people here have grown fond of you and Bridgette and Matey-Wind and water like what’s being forecast is beyond next level serious.
We all want to save our belongings and that’s primal in men but-You need to really really understand you ain’t stopping anything from happening if it gets to what they’re saying. When DeSantis says” Write your name and next of kin on your Arm if you do not heed these warnings” G--T--F--O
Throw the Dingy in the garage or Living room if you have to-that’ll be in Orlando on Friday otherwise.
Time to sell and return to New York!! That’s if you can find a buyer !!
Are you leaving tom?
❤ We must trust Jesus Completely 😊.. not having backup plans or conditions..
Remember we are to Mature in God's word after his perfect justification so that our obedience during saintification can contribute to our rewards at the bema seat.. and that our inheritance remains intact 😊..
May the Love of our perfect hight priest and king Jesus fill you all.. 🙏
I suggest you get the hell out! Boat isn't worth it! Category 5 now!
That’s up by Tampa. Shouldn’t be too bad wind wise by us. Surge is another story
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Ok, hopefully it doesn't change course to your detriment. Be safe.
What happens when a guy comes into the canal tonight and catches that line you stretched across the canal and damages his vessel, falls overboard and dies? Looks pretty irresponsible…especially days before landfall.
I’m at end of canal. Only two boats past me and they aren’t moving.
Ok. Looked like a lawsuit waiting to happen to me. Hopefully this thing loses some steam before landfall. Good luck . Stay safe.
