My current favorites are the Traxxas XO-1 and the Rlaarlo AK-917 carbon fiber version i own both of them. Me and my dad had a 4-tec 1.0 electric then i owned a 2.0 ford gt which i might get another 2.0 4-tec this time a VXL model. My dad also own a TT-02 which fell apart and at this point it's a parts car my dad also owns a Yokomo YD-2 drift car plastic chassis version. i also plan to get a Limitless or Infraction V2 maybe next year.
the infraction at the end with with active aero was pretty sick.

I love the Felony too the body is amazing. But I chose the Infraction as number one because of a few reasons. The body is more aerodynamic at high speeds and it's cheaper to replace for a painted and stickered one. I like having all tires the same size so I have other tire options readily available. It also has the 2.85 diff ratio front and back so if you want to go crazy fast you don't need to run a stupid big motor pinion and tiny spur. And it was the first car of this chassis line up that Arrma put out.

Hi Dave yeah the Infraction and Felony are both amazing cars. I have both actually. I managed to get my Felony to 119Mph with the stock body...hahaha. I have a vid of that. The only reason I chose the Infraction over the Felony was because the body is more stable above 100mph and I preferred having the same size tires all around and having the same diff ratio's front and back. Other than that they are essentially the same car. Like I said I love them both. The Felony body looks incredible. I'm an RC guy that started in 1978 with Radio Shack one channel RC cars. Then I moved onto Tamiya in the beginning of the 1980's. I'm just so blown away that I can have an RC car now that goes over 100mph...I never would have dreamed it! My personal best is 132Mph on my Slash 4x4 modified GT car. And the heights that I can jump an RC now is crazy. And at the same time Tamiya have re-released all the classic RC cars I had as a kid or the ones I wanted. It's a great time to be an RC enthusiast for sure. Do you have any other cars other than the Felony?

I love the Felony too. The main reason I chose the Infraction for number 1 was the body. It's more stable over 100mph. Check my 119Mph Felony vid and you will see why...lol.

@@levistewart5610 Yeah basically the same car. The Felony has a different diff ratio on the front and back because of the tire differences and the body is slightly less stable above 100Mph. And the Infraction has the hand brake.

@@PadrinoRc I'm new to brushless too. I only got into it a few years ago. I started in RC in 1978 with my Radioshack cars as a kid. Then into Tamiya in the 80's and Traxxas and HPI in the mid 90's and I quit RC until about 5 years ago. I had no exposure to the RC world at all during this layoff. Recently I was just playing with Tamiya's again and then like a time traveller from 1995 to 2018 I was introduced to the almighty LIPO battery. I've been addicted ever since...hahaha. It seriously was like I was in a Coma and came out of it 23 years later to a whole new RC world. It was awesome. I never even knew Lipos existed until a few years ago...crazy. And now I'm at 132Mph... I never would have dreamed of this when I was a kid staring at the Tamiya Sand Scorcher in my local Hobby Shop. 😵😃

KaizerTest RC yes xo-1 I forgot you mentioned x0-1. Not my favorite car either but it did start a trend in my opinion.
@@UDRC85 Yeah I had to give credit where credit is due. I was able to get it to 79mph official and another run I'm sure I did over that in the 80's but my gps wasn't in the car it fell out on the prior run.
So over 80 isn't bad. 10 years ago the X-01 was all there was available in that kind of car, and 80mph on a first run was pretty damn good.
KaizerTest RC definitely. It was a game changer. I had the team associated tc4 and tc5 back then. We did speed runs but not with gps. It was just to see the cars fly by at a high speed. Think back now our gearing was not much different from now the only difference are the electronics. We were not near 160mph but for sure 100mph all day. One of my little setup does 89 on small gearing.

You can see just by looking at the size of the X-01 battery trays....lol.😂And the Slash 4x4 has been around 10 years or so and it's still a contender for speed runs. Nice list, i recently bought a 4-Tec 2.0 Ford GT and i was going to get an XO-1 it's one of my favorites but i might get an Arrma Felony instead. My dad also owned a 4-Tec 1.0 electric and a TT-02.
Yeah don't get the X-01 you will be disapointed. Go for the Felony, Limitless but my favorite for out of the box high speed is the Infraction. That body can handle high speeds and it has the same diff ratio's front and back so you can run same size tires all around. Unlike the felony.

It's the best all around road car in my opinion. For parking lot bashing AND top speed runs. The body is stable above 100mph. Not as aerodynamic as a Limitless for sure but it has gone into the high 140's.

I don't have one of those but I am familiar with that car. It's a decent RC than can be modded for better performance later as you get cash. It has some aluminum parts which is great and the support and parts availability is decent.

But to be fair I only was out speedrunning 2 times last season and not at all this year yet. I'm sure I would be over 150mph by now if I had the time to get out there. My friends are in the 140's and 150mph range. It's a great aspect of the RC hobby for sure. It sounds like you have a fast setup there on your Limitless. 👊😎
@@KaizerTest I've yet to try for top speed. Only 87 with 22th pinion and the rear center driveshaft was wobbling to the point of ejection. And I was having radio problems. I now have a scorched RC driveshafts and radio problem fixed. And this year my speed run lipos went bad 🤦♂️. New lipos I hope I can afford this year. That's one fast slash. I'd be very happy if my 6s aet up hits 138mph.

I bought a Hyper vte about a month ago and it is hands down the best performing/most fun rc car I've owned. Just make sure you fill the diffs with oil

@@KaizerTest Originally planned on getting the roller but I went with the RTR just to avoid sitting and waiting for parts to come in. One step ahead of you lol, I already have it sitting on some GRP s5's and I've got some new s2's coming in the mail. I was honestly impressed with the speed out the box but I got a 22t pinion coming in for some more speed.
@@250hdd Haha...the GRP's are pretty sweet tires. Yeah little by little you will keep getting faster. At some point you might want to lock the center diff or put a spool in. And thicker diff front and rear diff fluid helps with traction. Or sometimes just lightly modified is good. The faster it is the more stress it is too...lol.😅
@@KaizerTest I was chasing high speeds with my Rustler build a few years ago but quickly grew tired of constantly wrecking, breaking, and overheating lol. I have a ton of respect for guys that achieve the high speeds but it's just not for me honestly. I think my perfect VT setup will consist of 6s power, 75 mph capable, and a motor/esc setup that stays below 150 degrees for aggressive 20-minute bash sessions. I've got an old tt02 that I may eventually convert to a speed run car, but the VT is just too much fun to powerslide and bash around.

No problem bro. I'm an old RC guy started in 1978 but now up to speed. I still love Tamiya...I have a bunch of re release kits including a lunchbox. But I also embraced the present technology. My Custom Slash 4x4 has been built like a GT street car and I have it up to 132Mph. The orange Tamiya TT02 in this top 5 vids is mine and it's up to 97 mph so far. Looking at felony and infraction. Buddy keeps trying to sell me one of his xo1 cars, but they just don't do anything for me.
The Infraction is my all time favorite parking lot and speed run car. It can do everything and with gearing, esc, motor and a spool it can do 150mph with the stock body. The X0-1 is a good car but too dated. It just doesn't handle like the Arrmas at high speeds.

Yeah it's a good platform for going fast. If you are in the market for a street roller though I would say Limitless is your best bet. The Arrma platform is super stable well over 100mph and the parts availability is one of the best.

I've had an idea dude which might help with speed runs. It involves fpv 🤔 so one of my race drones has a screen attached to the radio instead of goggles and thought if you could glance at the screen as your setting off for a run you would know for sure if your pointing straight! And also I see people having trouble seeing the car at the end of the run. Just look at the screen and have a cockpit view to help drive it back. What you think??
Might be a good idea. I have FPV goggles and was thinking too to put a camera on the car but it may cause me further disorientation. I was thinking to mount the goggles as a monitor on a tripod so I could look down at it kind of like you are saying. It could help at the beginning and end of the run.
@@KaizerTest I don't think goggles would be a good idea? I've got like a 5inch monitor that attaches to my radio so maybe something like that on a tripod! I think we're onto something dude! I'm not really going fast enough yet to warrant the idea so you should try it first 👍🏻🤣
@@ksrnate My Goggles come apart so you can use it as a monitor on a tripod. But using a monitor may be too distracting. You really can't take your eyes off the car so I'm not sure if it would work. Plus it's more electronics to deal with.

Yes it is good. There are guys that have had that car over 160Mph! But even for drifting and parking lot bashing its great. It's easy to work on and parts are readily available almost everywhere. Definitely a great choice in an on road car.

Yeah I might have to make a video on nitro cars. The fact is that Lipo electric is more popular and much faster in 2021 so I concentrated on those cars. But definitely nitro still has its place and you can't beat the sound and smell.

The DR10, is ok. But to be competitive, it needs many up grades. The Losi 22s, and the Traxxas Drag Slash, will smoke the DR10 right out the box. Some of the others may be faster, but if you want to compete. They have to be 2s with no stability enhancement.
at this piont they all need upgraded to be compeditive where are entering the carbon fiber got have 2k plus n ya car to be compeditive era of no prep outlaws class , last big 200 plus car race i was at there was maybe 5 to 10 stock chassis total n none n the top 20

Me either. To me best equals.. quality, parts support and initial availability of the car itself. There's definitely a lot of variables I considered. What's your favorite on road car?

@@Nordlicht05 Nice. I offroad a lot too. The Tamiya TT02 is a great drift car if you are looking for 1/10 scale. HSP also make some good cars for cheap that can be upgraded as you go. The TT02 is my favorite of the 1/10 scale.
