    Luckily, I have never had an issue with the G, but that E took me a long while. It was just so open and would take me a long second to find the strings with the correct fingers. Getting much better at it though, and that pink trick really helped. My big issue now is memorizing which fingering is a minor, a 7, or a major for each cord. I'm like wait... is that G or Gm, or G7? I guess that comes over time.

    Kevin, thanks for another great lesson. Quick question on the warm-ups: How come you recommend doing the finger/fret exercises only on the top three strings and never the G string? Seems like that would also increase our reach and dexterity..

    • @AllForUke
      @AllForUke  4 года назад +1

      Hey there - you can incorporate the G string if you'd like, however with the high G string tuning the exercise will sound a little odd to you. If you have a Low G it works well. Do you play low or high G?

    Hi Kevin, Still here and still loving these lessons. I am getting to grips with the G chord, but have a question. - when I come to play it my 2nd fret fingers want to be switched around with my index on the bottom string and middle on the C string. When I come to transition it’s a lot easier than the ‘right’ way. I.e. F to G is simple, G to E minor is add a pinky, D to G has a swivel finger etc. Are we learning the other way because it makes things easier further down the line? Thanks again.

    • @AllForUke
      @AllForUke  4 года назад +1

      The fingering used in this lesson will benefit you down the road and help you avoid cramping in your hand. The natural resting position of your fretting hand if you tilt towards the headstock will feel more comfortable with this chord fingering. I've seen others try this finger position, and it's not 'wrong' by any means, but I do feel that when you advance and start extending your G chord by adding your pinky into the mix, this position will benefit you more.

I appreciate your offering flexibility to a wide range of learners but do you have a recommended order for these courses?
