In the regular birthchart, each house is equivalent to one sign. Grahas are placed in the Bhavas according to the sign they occupy. In the bhava chart, the houses are not equivalent to one sign, and may have a span of more or less than 30 degrees. Grahas are placed in the Bhavas according to the span of the Bhava. The junction points between the bhavas are called the Bhava Sandhis, and the midpoints of the Bhava is called the Bhava Madhya. When a Graha is placed close to the Bhava Madhya, it will have a pronounced effect on the Bhava, and from the Bhava. A Graha that is close to one of the Sandhis of the Bhava, has very little effect on and from the Bhava. There are three methods to calculate the span of the Bhavas.
1. The "Shripati method", also given in one of the versions of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. In this method, the Ascendant and midheaven point are used as basis. The 10th house degree (Bhava Madhya of the 10th house) is the midheaven point. The 7th house degree (Bhava Madhya of the 7th house) is taken as the point opposite of the Ascendant degree, and the 4th house degree is taken as the point opposite of the 10th house degree. Now there are 4 cardinal points. The spaces in between are further divided in 3 equal portions, and the 2 junction points are the Bhava Madhyas of the 2nd /3rd, the 5th / 6th, 8th / 9th, and 11th/12th houses. The Bhava Sandhis are placed halfway between each pair of adjacent houses.
2. The "Equal house method". This method could be implied from a Shloka in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra where the beginning of each house (Pravarti) is said to be 15 degrees before the Bhava Madhya, and the end of the house (Poorti) is 15 degrees past the Bhava Madhya. In this system, every house is the same size, but the Bhava Madhya is determined by the Ascendant degree. If the Ascendant degree would be exactly 15 degrees, all bhavas would align with the signs, in all other cases the bhavas are shifted forward or backward relative to the signs.
3. The "placidus method" which is used in the Krishnamurti Paddhati system. In this system, the House boundaries are calculated by dividing the sky in 30 degree portions, and projecting them onto the zodiac. The Ascendant, Descendant, 10th house midpoint and 4th house midpoint turn out to be the same as in the Shripati method. The Houses in between have slightly different midpoints. For people born in places far away from the equator (far North or far South), the house placements in the Bhava chart according to the Shripati and placidus methods can be very different from the regular chart. Grahas may move up one or even two bhavas, due to the more extreme variation of the sizes of the rashis. For people born close to the equator, the signs rise with very similar duration, and as a consequence, the bhavas will also be similar in size. In the equal house method, Grahas may move up one house, but never more than that. There is no difference for people born far or close to the equator, as the sizes of the bhavas are not variant.

I think I am getting the hang of this. It was very difficult because I was viewing it the same way as the Placidus method in western astrology but when you mentioned about bhava madhya (midpoint) and bhava sandhi (start/end point) it made sense and I was interpreting it wrong. My lagna is Scorpio 20 degrees so first house would start at 6 degree Scorpio and end at 6 degree Sagittarius? If this is correct and with few adjustments on degrees for some houses then I will only see my Sun and Mercury move from the 6th house to the 5th house. All other planets remain in their houses but are very close to the bhava Sandhi. For example I have Venus in Taurus 8 degrees, according to the calculator I use the bhava sandhi of my 6th and 7th house is 6 degree Taurus so if I am correct my Venus is still in 7th house so malayav yoga might still exist but weak due to being close to the bhava sandhi.

After re-watching this video and reading several sources online it’s getting less confusing. I’m not sure if the sources I found are accurate but it mentioned that bhava chalit charts are suitable to know the results of a dasha period. Some examples I read online say that it is more favorable when a planet moves from a malefic house to a benefic house, for example if someone had Jupiter in 12th house in Rashi chart but it moved to 11th house in bhava chalit chart, the person might experience losses in the beginning of the Jupiter Mahadasa but will later result in lucky gain after since it moved to the 11th house. So if that’s the case then we can say about a planet moving from a benefic house to a malefic house. If Venus is in 7th house rashi chart but moves to 8th house in bhava chalit chart, we can predict during Venus dasha period that a good marriage may end up not really good moving in the 8th house either death or divorce in extreme cases. I’m not sure if this interpretation is correct.

What if there is an exchange, for example, between 7th and 8th lords but in bhava chart, the 7th lord is actually in the 9th house? Does it become more favourable or make a difference?
Bhava chart is for Bhava Rashi chart for rashi..👍
So if a planet moves into another house in bhava chart, the planet will give the result of the house its moved in as well as the house it placed originally?
yes..kind of..It will bring in the element of signification of the House placement in rashi to the bhava placement in the bhava chalit chart

Does chalit chart help nullify negative yogas? For example my Venus in 7th house is hemmed by Sun in 6th and Mars/Ketu in 8th however in chalit chart Sun moves to my 5th house and Venus is no longer hemmed. This made me curious and I looked into Princess Diana’s chart because we are both Scorpio Lagna and have Venus in 7th house Taurus. I was curious to see if her Venus moved places because her marriage with Prince Charles was really bad and it actually shows her venus moved to her 6th house in chalit so it makes sense but then there are also other explanation to her poor marriage. Her Jupiter is debilitated in third house Capricorn and aspects her 7th house with 7th lord. The tragedy she experienced all happened during her Jupiter MD so I’m not sure which factor had more weight in her situation. Was it her chalit placement of Venus or her Jupiter’s ill aspect on her 7th lord and house!

Hi Sir, I watched this video about Bhav chalit chart. In my D1 chart ( rashi/ lagna chart), mercury is in 1st house in Virgo sign. In bhav chalit chart, Mercury is in 12 th house. So final consideration is Mercury in Virgo but in 12th house and it will give results of 12th house. Is is right?

I'm not in agreement with this whole idea of bringing the rashi chart's "bhava" effect into the bhava chart, this is not in line with the teachings of the Rishis. It's just one chart. Rashi as the name suggest shows in what sign the planet is in and the bhav chart shows what house the planet is in.

I am really trying to grasp this concept. I know for sure that my sun in the 6th house will move to the 5th house based on bhava chalit chart however Venus is very tricky. In my D1 chart Venus is in my 7th house, when looking at the bhava chalit chart Venus is still in my 7th house but very close to the bhava sandhi point. I know just a few minutes can change this and my birth certificate reflects an odd minutes of time but again it will depend on the accuracy of the hospital or even the clocks being used as I was born in the early 90s so technology was not as advanced as it is today. All I can do is observe but it seems like I am resonating more with Venus in the 7th house description vs Venus in the 6th house. Also bhavat bhavam supports this when analyzing relation to my sibling and mother and looking at their chart. I know during my long Venus Mahadasa period I did receive an inheritance since the 8th house becomes the second house of the dasha lord however I did end up losing this wealth and it makes sense because mars is in my 8th house and by default for my dasha lord it was a case of 12th lord placed in the second since Aries rules my 6th house making it the 12th for my 7th. I will need to make observations during my sun Mahadasa period that will start in November this year. I would like to see a shift since it’s been 20 years under my Venus Mahadasa and I am only 30 years old so 2/3 of my life has been under this Mahadasa.
Regarding technically my friend!! Don't take this wrong please. But..Your kidding right? Technology is not more advanced now. They had dumbed it down to maintain control, because nobody could grasp it on the larger platform. Funny right?;, graspers and grahas... This is not a world of evolution and bettering of concepts. It's a full devolution and loss of them. Just take a very short look back and you'll see. Say 10 years, 20 or 30 years... Scary isn't it. That's not far enough back to trick anyone, and it's certainly near enough to the present time to find such sources of truth. Smaller and easier to use and more efficient doesn't mean more accurate and more benefic.
@@minusstage3 yes I agree with you it technically it’s not but what I meant to say is that todays technology might be a bit more convenient than before but it can still give inaccurate results. Observation of results is what I keep in mind.
If Asc is at 21:29 (Bhava Middle), then what is the degree of the Acs? Is it going into next house?
No Depending upon the degrees of the Ascendant rest of the houses and Planets are decided

Can you tell me do you like solitude, thin , feels disconnected from your body and obsessed about relationship and marriage concept and always thinking about the possibility of having exciting partner- if you feel relatable to all this then you have Rahu in 7th house. If you face stomach troubles time to time, obsessed with routines and time table, fascinated by low peoples and toxic environment you can feel more relatable with Rahu in 6th house. Sir like u said that raashi will remain same but house will change in bhava chalit...BUT for exp. My sun (0°) in 1st house in leo lagna (16°) and in bhava its in 12th..(means 29° sun in 12th)...so according bhava chalit it will show result of "sun in leo sign in 12th house"...BUT this is possible in Virgo lagna, this position is occured only in Virgo, In leo lagna how can we analys result of this which cannot be possible 😦

I have ascendant at 24 degrees! Which means that planets within 3-5 degrees on both side of the ascendant degree are strong! Now if we subtract 15 from 24 we get 9 which would be bhav madhya?? So if a planet is at 10 degree(mooltrikona and in good house) will it show bad results in its dasha, since it is near to bhav madhya and it is not good to have planets in bhav madhya as they become weak???
Why a a Planet will show Bad results when it is Near The Bhava Madhya (Mooltrikona and Good House)?
On the contrary it will become capable of giving more of what it signifies in the horoscope

The actual ascendant degree(24 degree) or subtracting or adding 15 to it as originally a house is 30 degree long! In my case someone told me that the planets near to 24 degree(ascendant) are very strong and planets near to 9 degree (24-15) are not so strong even if they are mooltrikona or in good placement since they come within 9 degrees which is bhav madhya(planets within 3-5 degree of 9) please guide?

Just a small query here if yogas are to be seen from rashi chart only or bhav chalit also? For ex venus is in libra in 11th house but in bhav chalit it moves to 10th house! Now according to you here venus would act as venus in libra in 10th house since the sign does not change in bhav chalit chart....will this be giving results of "malavya yoga" as venus in exaltation or own sign or mooltrikona in kendra is a malavya yoga?

I have to re-watch this video lol I do understand the Bhava concept since I am familiar with Placidus method in western astrology so basically the bhava plays an influence during dasha but it’s still affecting the placement of lagna chart. In lagna chart I have aries sun in 6th house but in bhava it moved to 5th house.

Sir, you din't explain conjections. A planet is alone in 5th house at 2 degree and it moves to previous house with planet already sitting in it (the 4th house) at 17 degree. So now will these two be in conjunction. If ascendent midpoint is 20 degrees.
Check Ascendant degrees and then. Apply them to each house to determine the placements

Like what is the basis of constructing chart like we do, how does ecliptic, ascendant point rising in eastern direction and other directions fit into this etc.

The bava with unequal houses, described by sripathi be explained please. Placidus house system is correct, a western system. The equal house calculation is very easy but has nothing notable

Bhava chart house effects are only during its Dasha or all through lifetime?
The Bhava Chart is once for All..but the effect of Any Planet is prominent during its Dasha and Mahadasha/Antadasha anyway.

I don't agree with the words you use planets changing signs. But I rather think the Bhavas overlaid the zodiac signs. When we calculate the individual birth chart and take the Middle Point, Bhavas or Houses are formed upon the zodiac signs, or Bhavas are imposed on the signs. The planets which originally deposited in the signs forming the new different houses than from taking a full signs 30 degrees as a house. So Bhavas are houses derived from taking the rising degree as the Middle Point. Planets don't shift signs but they fall in the different Bhava, not signs. Thanks.
