BIOSPHERE 2 -- Discovery Channel Special -- 1991

One of the great human science endeavors Biosphere 2 is the subject of the Discovery Channel Special, aired in 1991 with host Robert Redford. The massive space frame in Oracle, Arizona started construction in 1987, including 7 biomes (3.14 acres) replicating earth's Biosphere 1. From '91-'93, 8 biospherians lived inside the enclosed system, using its own air, water and agricultural production.
