Awesome upload dude, obviously i followed the generic audacity rules, but i noticed my voice was lacking the natural bass and treble i have, with the snowball, this has fixed that, favourited!!
Dude, YES! I was having such difficulties with the level being too low and you just pulled out a whole bag of tricks to fix that. This is exactly what I needed. You are the man, have a gold star. And thank you again, sincerely.
You do know you can create a macro that records all these steps? It is just one click next time then. Adobe Audition has the feature as well but it is called "Record Favourite" Also just seen how old your comment is haha
I have the new version of audacity and it doesn’t have equalizer, instead it has filter curve.. but filter curve doesn’t have the bass boost option on there. Where do I go to do so?
Thanks for this tutorial, I used it all the time in my recent animations, really boosted the quality! I credited this video in my "how I make my videos briefly" video
Thank you so much for this info! I was looking for an easy tutorial to help me out and this really did that. I'm passing this information along to others and crediting you. Thanks again.
wow, this is gonna blow away my co-workers! Love the video, straight to the point and easy to follow. It'll be awesome to test this out at work when I get a new video project :D It'll be nice to have a comparison at the very end but other than that, A+!
Hi, thank you so much for your video. I wonder why when I normalize it simply does not boost me.. I'm following the steps but the volume is the same before and after normalization 🤕
Usually better to compress rather than limit. Limiting chops of the top of the waveform, effectively breaking any natural dynamic range of the voice, compressors will also reduce dynamic range but has the benefit of increasing inteligability and reducing sudden volume changes. 🙂
same here and its so annoying. Like it sounds super robotic with any recording program I use. I even did a side by side recording with this guy and it came out robotic
hey man nice vid, I use voicemetter to make the audio quality sound better, but it crackles when I use Audacity to speak, any fixes, and also nice vid : )
For anyone who is using a Mac and does not have the equalizer option. You can read this: forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=107784 OR Go to Effect > Filter Curve > Manage [on the bottom left] > Factory Presets > Then choose "Bass Boost" / "Treble Boost" Hopes this helps someone!
THank you very much for this video it was great, better and more to the point than others that i had clicked on! Hopefully you have one on how to add background music on audacity??
Usually yes.... I've recently looked into voicemeeter, which is just an in computer sound mixer that can adjust all of this live. I will be having a tutorial here soon.
When you do a "limiter" effect, does it fix static noises the mic picks up on? Or any of these effects you demonstrated here fix static noises? Just got my Blue Snowball & trying to avoid the static noise but unsure if you can easily edit it or its just where or how you place your usb cord.
I've been having issues lately where my audio turns out really quiet when I record w/ my snowball in audacity. Even if I turn up the recording volume all the way and talk really close to my mic.
MalySports I'm also having the same problem with my snowball. I have the yeti as well and had the opposite problem it's way too loud and picks up way too much background noise from my chair creaks the dog comes in the room you hear it everything
Dear Sir, I have a question: when I did the same as you do, the voice is not as loud as yours...even the dB level and the waves look like yours ...did you do any volume boost afterwards?
thanks for the video. been looking at ways to make my audio sound better. do you have ways to improve sound during live streaming? I'm using blue snowball and OBS.
I think that everything is fine in this well thought up of video but I feel like the "S" is too intense which makes my ears hurt a bit. Any way on fixing that?
can u plz do a video showing how u edit yo videos and how u sync the wav microphone file after editing it , with the video file that your camcorder records at the right time i guess u know what m i tryna ask .. plz help .. :9 ill appreciate it :) thnks for the vid tho .. nice vid man .
My mic still sounds weird, it doesn't sound like yours even when you don't have the settings on, the mic when recording also sounds like garbage. any advice? Sounds like im on a $4 phone mic
If anyone is having this issue as well I found how to fix it. For me personally I found my voice naturally has a lot of treble so I don't do the treble boost. If you notice that there are large peaks that come from the treble boost I would say avoid that. Same goes for boost. I personally only use normalize, compressor and limiter
my peaks are pretty low when I'm recording with my blue snowball and I'm pretty l]close to the mic. Does anybody have any tips? Also what setting should I have on the switch on the back?
Wow! Thank you so much for this! This helped me so much! I think I know the answer to this but does anyone use the blue snowball for voice bunny or Voice123 etc. I know I need to get higher quality but financially I just can’t at the moment.
I like how to the point you are! I look for other tutorials and they take 50 years to get to the point thanks for being efficient !
Awesome upload dude, obviously i followed the generic audacity rules, but i noticed my voice was lacking the natural bass and treble i have, with the snowball, this has fixed that, favourited!!
thanks a lot man!
Dude, YES! I was having such difficulties with the level being too low and you just pulled out a whole bag of tricks to fix that. This is exactly what I needed. You are the man, have a gold star. And thank you again, sincerely.
Wow. A five minute video just transformed my video quality. You earned a like + sub
BEFORE/AFTER
Before: 0:57
After: 2:56
It just sounded louder to me
@@eurielrabano5732 :( !!!!
I always comeback to this video whenever I plan to record commentary. Thanks a ton for this.
College Football Dojo thanks so much! That means a lot. Hopefully it helps!
I do too, but mine doesn't change that much, sounds like im on a $4 mic from a phone.
Thanks !
Who here still uses this video tutorial on a daily basis?
ExpolRun me :)

You do know you can create a macro that records all these steps? It is just one click next time then. Adobe Audition has the feature as well but it is called "Record Favourite" Also just seen how old your comment is haha
Thanks bro, helped a bunch! Love being able to find videos and content creators that do these things! Keep up the good work :)
dude you're an absolute legend for making the snowball sound like something 3 times its price
Thanks man! This is an oooollld video though, think a new one should come out?
@@CinemaCamProductions eh maybe, audacity looks a bit different from 2016 soo you could if you wanted to
Nice tut. Actually helped with my narrations. Thanks!
thanks boss this helped out a lot got a new mic and starting up a gaming channel cant wait to start recording this stuff
I have the new version of audacity and it doesn’t have equalizer, instead it has filter curve.. but filter curve doesn’t have the bass boost option on there. Where do I go to do so?
I have the same problem, did you manage to figure it out?
Hamza what I did is I just went to bass and treble instead. It’s at the very top when you go to effects
Use the graphic equalizer and boost the lower frequencies
You could go to edit and press silence audio
Thanks for this tutorial, I used it all the time in my recent animations, really boosted the quality! I credited this video in my "how I make my videos briefly" video
Thank you so much for this info! I was looking for an easy tutorial to help me out and this really did that. I'm passing this information along to others and crediting you. Thanks again.
This needs more popularity it's so good
Thanks a lot!

Hi, thank you so much for your video. I wonder why when I normalize it simply does not boost me.. I'm following the steps but the volume is the same before and after normalization 🤕
Thank you so much, this video will help my audio quality a ton! Keep up the great work!
Super video man 😀, I just bought the blue snowball and it helps me a lot. Just a question is it exactly the same for the blue snowball ice?
Awesome video! Thanks for the tips, did you learn these from experimenting or what?
Like! This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen
Usually better to compress rather than limit. Limiting chops of the top of the waveform, effectively breaking any natural dynamic range of the voice, compressors will also reduce dynamic range but has the benefit of increasing inteligability and reducing sudden volume changes. 🙂
Thank you, this is awesome. Makes such a great difference on my audio recorded using Snowball.
How does your snowball sound so good
thankyou so much for this video.
I learned very quickly in my first upload test I definitely have some work to do on my audio
Who else didn't hear a difference except it was louder at certain points.
Trentelenten me
U probably don't know anything bout audio
Made my voice really loud and you could hear the echo a lot more like if I was in a bathroom or something
Before: 0:57
After: 2:56
do you have ears ??
I come back here every time I work on an audio file for a refresher. thanks.
Thanx man it's working so good
I have a snowball mic
the voice is incredibly changed
Dude ur a lifesaver thnx man u just earned urself a thumbs up:)
I use a Mac and a Snowball. When I try to select Stereo, it doesn't appear. I only have the Mono option. Any ideas?
If you close out of the app will your mic still sound good with the edits ???????
This is going to help a ton when I make my next animation! Thx man~!
Dude thanks this was so helpful thanks alot
Great explanation! Gonna try it out the next time. Thank you!
Let me know what you think!
do you know where the equalization button in the updated version?
i did all of the steps and it makes my blue snowball sound like a robot or a radio voice and I dont have a pop filter someone please help me
ItsTesla Well it depends on your voice. Some settings work and some just make your voice sound like a robot, you just need to experiment.
same here and its so annoying. Like it sounds super robotic with any recording program I use. I even did a side by side recording with this guy and it came out robotic
Yeah same with me, sounds like I have a robotic voice with echos in the background.
hey man nice vid, I use voicemetter to make the audio quality sound better, but it crackles when I use Audacity to speak, any fixes, and also nice vid : )
will this save or will i have to do this every time I want my voice to sound like this?
hey great stuff. how do I import a audio file then fix it with what u made?
For anyone who is using a Mac and does not have the equalizer option. You can read this: forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=107784
OR
Go to Effect > Filter Curve > Manage [on the bottom left] > Factory Presets > Then choose "Bass Boost" / "Treble Boost"
Hopes this helps someone!
THank you very much for this video it was great, better and more to the point than others that i had clicked on! Hopefully you have one on how to add background music on audacity??
Thanks! Really helped :) Liked
Thanks for this dude it was pretty helpful :)
thanks for the help but why are you putting bloons, btd5, tower, defence, game, and like-for-like numerous times in the tags.
awesome vid! really helped me out man, now I can start recording without garbage quality! :)
Thanks for the help!
Is there anyway where you can list the steps? Thank you
will this work if your making a song?
rly nice video !
I'm getting an error message all the time saying error opening sound device try changing the audio host playback rate device or sample
Can I record a video then export here somehow? Or do I just have these settings then record?
Will this work for podcasts?
hey man I wanted to ask you which
setting do u use in the back of the snowball?
Thanks for the settings! it really improved my audio quality.
Guys, you should use chains to reduce editing time. They are in File/Edit Chains. ;)
so do you do that every recording?
Usually yes.... I've recently looked into voicemeeter, which is just an in computer sound mixer that can adjust all of this live. I will be having a tutorial here soon.
is there anyway to setup the mic to do this whenever you use the mic?
Thanks so much
When you do a "limiter" effect, does it fix static noises the mic picks up on? Or any of these effects you demonstrated here fix static noises? Just got my Blue Snowball & trying to avoid the static noise but unsure if you can easily edit it or its just where or how you place your usb cord.

Did you ever try going to the recording devices and tune the levels on the microphone?
Try moving mic closer to your mouth
Bro i just got the snowball today and im having the same problem did you find a fix i think mines is still using the pc microphone
Go to Properties on you mic settings and then go to advanced and change the sample rate to 44100hz
Is it okay to click "Ok" twice after you get the noise profile? Doing it once still leaves slight background noise
Great video! It worked, and i copied the steps again, now my audio is sort of hissing?
Would these settings suit a female voice too or would like bass and stuff have to be different?
Yes. if not then alter the settings.
Okay thank you!!
Dear Sir, I have a question: when I did the same as you do, the voice is not as loud as yours...even the dB level and the waves look like yours ...did you do any volume boost afterwards?
Amazing thanks so much!
no probs:)
CinemaCamProductions My mic is has so much bass now xD
DaToast glad to hear
Amazing video
BRO YOU"RE AMAZING
THANK YOU
thanks bro
I have the blue snow ball ice and it keeps sounding distorted and horrible. The audio isn’t clear at all. Even after placing effects on the audio.
Do the setting stay the same or do u have to keep changing them every time?
they stay
Wow nice!
THANKS MAN!!
thanks for the video. been looking at ways to make my audio sound better. do you have ways to improve sound during live streaming? I'm using blue snowball and OBS.
Malcolm Nicholson yeah check out my tutorial for live recording
Which setting on the microphone were you useing? how it has 1,2 and 3 on the back of the Mic
TheCryptoHD I'm not sure I understand what you're saying..
On the snowball it self at the back next to the plug it has a switch with 1,2 and 3 its different settings. Which one do you use?
TheCryptoHD there should be an option explaining omnidirectional, unidirectional and another. You want unidirectional
Great tutorial!!!
the treble boost was a little too much for me. maybe it happened because i was using the snowball ice?
Damm it! years of podcasting i never new these settings help!
It didn't get "boosted" when clicking normalize?
Still good in 2021
I think that everything is fine in this well thought up of video but I feel like the "S" is too intense which makes my ears hurt a bit. Any way on fixing that?
try amplifying it. This helps turn down the volume
Or just compress a little more
does that also help in discord?
can u plz do a video showing how u edit yo videos and how u sync the wav microphone file after editing it , with the video file that your camcorder records at the right time i guess u know what m i tryna ask .. plz help .. :9 ill appreciate it :) thnks for the vid tho .. nice vid man .
The easiest way to sync that stuff is to clap. The claps show up really obviously on the Audio file and in the video.
My mic still sounds weird, it doesn't sound like yours even when you don't have the settings on, the mic when recording also sounds like garbage. any advice? Sounds like im on a $4 phone mic
what settings can u use if you r talking during the video thats being recorded? not overlaying the audio at a later date on a recorded video? ty
sir I have a boya bym1 on audacity plzz show me the settings.. like mic preference etc
Why do u have a green screen while not knowing how to use it?
I've been having so many audio issues lately! Defiantly going to give these settings a try :)
+EpcoGame Hope it helps!
what about the s's
This really helped but it also made my s sounds sooooo much more pronounced.
Thanks BRO :)
Nice vid
After editing my voice comes out slightly robotic and kinda sharp. Does anyone know how to fix this
If anyone is having this issue as well I found how to fix it. For me personally I found my voice naturally has a lot of treble so I don't do the treble boost. If you notice that there are large peaks that come from the treble boost I would say avoid that. Same goes for boost. I personally only use normalize, compressor and limiter

Raise the recording volume
That is alot of work
thanks man just need to put this to practice thanks m8888888888888888888
you're a life saver xdddd thank you so so much ! :3
im on mac but cant find limiter anyone help?
I dont understand how can I make this work in a video?
Wow! Thank you so much for this! This helped me so much! I think I know the answer to this but does anyone use the blue snowball for voice bunny or Voice123 etc. I know I need to get higher quality but financially I just can’t at the moment.
