  • episode 21: Kaokoland in Namibia. Part 1 of this blog shows us driving with our truck on very sandy 4x4 desert roads, rocky mountain roads and in dry river beds.
Joubert Mountain Pass, elephants, giraffe, oryx, baobab trees, thorn trees, Himba people, cattle, goats, ... all unforgettable moments.
Part 1 shows the easy section of this trip.
Part 2 will show the scary extreme 4x4 tracks were we drove.

    Breathtaking in the solitude!
In Oregon, we travel a half-hour to be alone, forests or lava fields.
The other option is west to the twelve-mile boundary off-shore...

We hope to drive there on day!
First we want to finish Africa, then South America and then moving north.

Hi, again great video. I've watched your previous videos, but could remind me the weight of your truck? And do you find it difficult to go off-road (does the truck sink fastly on wet basis?). Thanks for advise!

Fully loaded our truck is between 11,6 ton and 11,8 ton.
We haven't driven on mud yet.
Sand: a problem if we don't have enough speed. As long as there is no reason to stop (like last week when another car blocked the road), we can keep moving.
I will shortly post some vlogs of us stuck in the sand and how we got out.
