With Virtual Reality at Goethe Institute, Bogota, this past June 2024, I stepped into Gregor Samsa and into his room! It was incredible to look into the mirror and see myself as a giant cockroach. Moving around Gregor's room while hearing his family speak in German, wondering "Was ist los?" immersed me in the story. It was truly a wonderful experience and one that opens doors for how to engage our youth in reading. This installation reminded me of Orhan Pamuk's Museum of Innocence in Istanbul where artifacts resonating with the story are on display. Virtual Reality exhibitions such as this one have a great potential to reach audiences all over the world as they can easily be shipped. What literary works do you think need to be done ASAP in Virtual Reality?
