The label is taking the biggest risk so they should get the biggest cut. My advice to these rappers is to sign only a 2-3 albums deal then in 3 years you will be free, have nationwide name recognition, have enough money to go independent with a sufficient budget or sign a better deal because you will have leverage because you are now a proven talent.
