I’m the guy that organized and threw the fiasco Friday protest in NYC for LASERS!!!!
Word? Props to you man. I wasn't there for it personally but it was a historic moment in hip hop.
@@OneStopHipHop811 one of the single greatest achievements of my life man!
Dopeeee! Thank you for your service looking out for a REAL one! 🙌🏿
wasnt it anonymous? but if you did huge achievement. album aint that bad just wasnt as strong as i hoped it be.
oh oh i see.. props to you man!!
I still would love to hear the LupEND concept trilogy.
Me too
Lupe shelved so so much during that era smh.
Yea he seems to have several albums that he just left to the wayside and I'd be interested in hearing them too.
Now I wanna check out Lupe's whole catalog. I always respected him as a lyricist but I now I really want to listen. Solid video
I highly recommend it, check out all of it when you can but especially Food & Liquor 1&2 and the Cool if you haven't yet.
Dragos Waves is a must
Also you have to listen to the mural series of songs
Fahrenheit mixtapes
Super late man
I produced most of the material for Lupe’s unreleased album before Food and Liquor. It was me and a guy named Boogz from Chicago. Several of the track I did are on RUclips, if you’re looking to go into the Lupe unreleased material
That is interesting. What are some of these tracks called that are up on youtube?
You got a list of RUclips playlist?
Sure buddy sure.
??????????? 👀
Have you got answers or were you lying?
Here’s the playlist of the tracks I did for
Lupe. I re-worked “What It Coulda Been” in 2017 as well. It’s on ITunes.

Tetsuo & Youth is his magnum opus, and Drogas Wave is a dense Masterpiece
My favorite album by him might be Food and Liquor still or the Cool. Tetsuo and Youth is up there for me though too.
Excellent video I just went to one of his concerts a few weeks ago. He is definitely one of my favorite artist of all time and I really appreciate how you laid out the story.
Drill Music in Zion is definitely candidate for Top 5 AOTY
This is so deep. Being from Chicago I always truly ❤️ ed and appreciated Lupe Fiasco I still do but I feel weird now knowing thier indeed was an attempt to steal his soul on those old favorite hits. I will steer away from those tracks because I will not and do not consent to the stealing of his soul energy utilizing my ears as a vehicle and thereby further stealing, essentially of Chicago's artistic soul. 😮 Understanding what truly happened helps me work on being the energetic change because as an artist myself, a writer. I clearly understand what happened and what is intended to continously happen on top of those notes. Create new notes lupe and cancel the energetic theft contracts. Sending ❤ from Spain although I still miss shytown everyday. I really do.
I think Lupe would still want you to listen to those songs despite the situation. He left gems in those songs to pretty much elude to what he was experiencing and put his artistry into them.
Shytown? You mean Chitown? I don't know where you're from in Chicago saying shytown lol. Also, this happened over a decade ago and Lupe has put out a ton of music since then. Lupe talks about contracts and the industry in almost every song he has made since signing with Atlantic, I don't know how you could possibly be a fan and not know about this. Even in songs he released with Atlantic.
What I never understood about Lupe is how he specified that he "Won't give his all to Atlantic" after Lasers yet T&Y sounds like something on the level of Drogas Wave/DMIZ, or arguably better.
I agree, it is a bit interesting. T&Y is a bit of an outlier in that regard. It's one of his better albums, almost all his fans have agreed on that from what I've seen but it was definitely while he was still on Atlantic. So I do question what made that one different.
Yea I heard about that. Imagine if Lupe kept the songs for himself? I wonder if he'd have another hit song under his belt.
This was great! I learned a lot of new things anout Lupe the freaking G.O.A.T 🙌🏿
People forget how much buzz lupe had at a point. Lots of co-signs from folks that mattered. But you can’t judge his mainstream success after you take into consideration, his relationship with his label. You still needed a label during the mid 00’s, for everything…to promote, advertise, or fire fight.
True indeed, imagine if he didn't have the record label problems to that extent. He could have been a lot bigger if he wanted to.
That original version of Food & Liquor, I remember bumping it non-stop for a month and it was definitely better in many regards than the eventual retail version.
Which songs were different?
@@OneStopHipHop811 there was some tracks that made it to the official release, but some tracks from the leak of the album didn’t make the cut. Tracks that I can remember off the top of my head is Spaz Out, Trials & Tribulation (ends up being Pressure, same beat w/ Jay-Z feature), & Game Time
After all the BS Lupe is still in the goat argument
Definitely!
Woooow!!! I never knew this! These labels truly truly are 😈s!! This is why I support Lupe to the FULLEST!!! He’s a genius great top-tier in the game & my fav! Now understand when the REAL ones get under appreciated!!!
Nice to see the whole time line laid out so coherently, well done! Lupe is way too slept on
Thanks, yea he is by a lot of people. He's easily one of my favorite rappers of all time.
Drill Music in Zion is a masterpiece.
Great video bro
Thanks yo.
Thanks for this. I never knew F&L had leaked with different songs. Where can one find it?
I do not have a download link for the songs themselves but you might be able to get some help with that on the Lupe Fiasco sub.
www.reddit.com/r/LupeFiasco/
Its on youtube just search it
You should do one about Wiz and Rolling Papers and the influence Atlantic had on that Album
I do have that album, I like some of Wiz's stuff so a Wiz video might be interesting. What was the big issue with Atlantic and Rolling Papers in particular? I know they're a reford label known for their formulaic hits and whatnot but was something different with Wiz?
Wiz wrote an apology letter to his fans after that album.
I appreciate the albums he did with Atlantic, it’s just a different sound from the mixtapes.
I wish we got LUPe.n.d. sounds amazing!
Man…this made me hate the industry even more they did this man filthy NEVER in my life I heard of this level of blackballing smh
Yea, record label blackballing is messed up, Lupe isn't the only rapper who has been through it but he's probably one of the most prominent and skilled rappers I can think of that has been through it like this and has spoken on it.
Regarding the lyrics point, u see the same parallel in other genres - fun songs win over virtuosic playing
Well researched
Thank you
Considering we got Drill Music in Zion which is TOP 3 albums in my opinion (T&U is 1st, The Cool is 2nd), yeah he's still grinding.
.
.
dope vid! ❤
Thanks
Till this day, i still think if atlantic records just let lupe do lasers his way, LASERS WOULDVE BEEN MASSIVE 😫😫😫
And Lasers was BADLY received.
@@remyroland2424 by the fans, but critics gave it great reviews .
His last 4 projects 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are you including the two EPs in that four?
I’ve only heard drill music in zion but ima listen to his whole discography
I highly recommend Food and Liquor 1&2 and the Cool.
@@OneStopHipHop811 I’ll go through all of them
That's what's up.
THANKS
Its crazy how they tried to messed up his career, he should be as big as Kanye, JCole, Kendrick, etc. The dude is literally the lyricist nobody wants smoke from only that can touch him lyrically is Andre 3000 Kendrick and Cole. Another one cut from the same cloth as Kendrick and JCole just without a major label giving correct promotion. Honestly I think they gave him hell because they feel that Jay Z fucked them over and Jay brought Lu to them so in revenge they ruined his change to be as big as a Kanye. It literally the Industry is shady its needs to be taking over.
Kdot can maybe touch him lyrically, Nas too, maybe ppl like Black Thought and DOOM although he dead. But Cole absolutely not. He not on their level
I would to hear Part 2 of Food and Liquor 2.
Me too, I think F&L2 is pretty underrated.
@@OneStopHipHop811 most underrated album in his catalog
Definitely
The Cool and Kendrick Lamar TPAB are neck and neck in concept
I’d consider gkmc a more conceptual album than tpab
Lupe 🔥🔥🔥
This is why I hate Joe Budden now, he became everything he used to hate...
A podcaster? 😂
@@OneStopHipHop811 a corporate scumbag. When you listen to the conversation with Lupe Joe sounds like he kinda admires the snakey movements of the label and since then he had snakey moves on Rory and Mal. He was all about equity when HE wanted equity all until his friends wanted equity.
I feel you man. Would you consider him a "sellout" or just a businessman?
But he said ‘they don’t gaf’
The goat
Have you heard the new album?
@@OneStopHipHop811 yessir i was counting down the minutes until it dropped! probably listened to it about 10 times already. What you think of it?
Is SoundCloud the only place I can find Ten Yurrs Layda? I'd be interested in listening to it but SoundCloud interface trash
Yes I believe that is the only place it was officially posted. You could find it reposted on other sites probably.
LUPE is the illest
🐐
Woooow😊
You guys weren't buying his albums and cassettes and Atlantic weren't recouping their investment. Stop making as if you cared for him that much whereas you didn't.
Why lupe sign that 360 smh
Wasnt a 360
He had a Distribution Deal, but ATL wanted him to sign a 360 deal but he refused.
I dont like your voice ✌🏾
That's interesting. 🤷🏽♂️
