Mark Slaughter is an amazing talent. Just because his instrument is a voicebox and not a replaceable instrument like a guitar...show some respect people. He still hits some crazy notes.
@@BPoweredLove I just went to see them in western NY this past Saturday. Outside venue. The mix was great and Mark was on top of his game. Maybe this was a off night. Being a musician myself, choose to cut the man some slack. 🤘
I actually enjoyed this I'm a 80's child and gotta say I'm impressed Mark you're doing alot better than Vince Neil, and hearing Vince sing recently broke my heart I literally Said out loud WTF 😒
Wow! This brings back memories of following them around on tour in 92-94 ! (No, not a groupie, I just love to rock !) And for the record Mark Slaughter and Blas Elias are two of the absolute friendliest rockers ever! And I've met hundreds!!!! They're not egomaniacal assholes like the rest!!!!
Good to know! I’m seeing them on March 31 (in a few days from now, March 19) and the venue stage is not blocked off with a gate so we’ll be really really up close and I know I’m gonna get to meet mark and I’m so beyond words excited, I know every word to every song they are playing and I’m only 17 so I have a feeling he’ll say something about how I’m so young and know every word to their songs 😂
I loved Slaughter back in the early 90s. I was just a kid in high school. I still love their music at 46 yrs old now. I give them all the credit for still doing what they love. It can't be easy to maintain what you did in your prime (especially when it comes to vocals as your instrument). Rock on boys and thank you for your music. Btw... Mark shreds on guitar and he's still a hottie. Nice to see Dana still Strumming along (see what I did there lol). I was bummed not seeing Blas though. RIP to Tim.
Slaughter opening for Poison. Had to go to the back of the floor for Slaughter because Marks voice actually hurt my ears. This guy had an amazing voice.
The entire 80s rock scene was all about loudest and highest hit notes. It killed the top vocal range of many singers. A few are still lucky to have the talent. But the hardest screamers have turned to mush. Not meant as an insult. I still go to see them.
Yeah I can tell his voice isn't as great as it used to be but I'd still go to a Slaughter show anyday! There is a live version of "Fly to the angels" on here dated back to 1991 & Mark ROCKED IT! The vocal range he had back then was TOP NOTCH but even though he doesn't sound like he used to, I still respect Him for Keeping it Going! God Bless!
Y’all are all wrong the singer that sounds the best from Back in the Day that can still sing it in the same key as originals is STYX Dennis De Young he’s freakin amazing ! What Dennis DeYoung Band Liv e from LA. Around 2019
Was at the Ft. Worth, Tx Rail Club show on Friday (2/8)...glad Mark’s still flying the hard rock flag...great show (other than an over-fog incident early on...ha!) and great drummer. More people need to support touring rock bands like this who still play their own instruments and rock out. Slaughter are a dying breed. Nothing beats live rock!!!🤟🏻
Boys and Girls You see that Bass Player ( Legendary) Dana Strum!!! If it wasn’t for him introducing Randy Rhoads to Old Drunken Ozzy at the time, We wouldn’t have the great great tunes Crazy Train , Over the Mountain and the rest of the songs from the first two albums.. Thanks Dana!
He looks like one of ''the soccer moms'', I know now. Still really enjoyed this. i sneaked in as a baby and saw him back in 1989 in Hampton, VA. With Scorpions. Wassssss wonderful.
Some people can be pretty heartless. I would suggest a key chance for "Fly to the angels", I know Elton John once said he hardly does any of his older songs in the original key because he's older. Tom Keifer has worked with a specialist that really helped him out a lot. People need to understand that when people age their vocal cords change and what once was easier at 26 is not always the case at 46 or 56. There are exceptions like Steven Tyler, Bruce Dickinson, Robin Zander, but I would imagine those guys work with a specialist at some point too. Even back when these guys were younger they didn't always sing it exactly like the record, people forget that.
I am listening to this just to see if Slaughter has EVER managed to play anything OTHER than the Stick it To Ya album live. I have often thought that as a band, they were underrated and underplayed, especially as I bought each new album and thought, "these guys just keep getting better!" Anyone here know anything off the "Revolution" and "Back To Reality" albums? Anyone?? Go find out. If you like the band, you'll thank me-- then get pissed off hearing SITY live over and over and over and over when there's so much better that they have produced!
I seen Slaughter and winger when they opened for a KISS on the kiss hot in the shade tour and in1997 I got to meet the band Slaughter super nice guys but out of all them Tim Kelly was the nicest sadly he died a year later in a very horrific car crash.... but yeah since Mark had throat surgery years ago his voice has never been the same
Yeah I agree mark slaughter can still hit some amazing notes keep in mind kiss and how they sound now compare them to slaughter ,slaughter beats them by miles as far as mark singing goes compared to Paul Stanley yeah mark still has alot left to give Paul is pretty much done know what I mean ,slaughter still kicks ass to this day dont ever forget that they came late in the music scene and they will leave late they have alot music still left in thier souls to give
You know what, he definitely practices, he can still sing every word and hit damn good notes, hits those double multi note screams like micheal Starr and David Lee Roth. That shit is hard and not many people can do it. He's just got aged vocals, remember he gotta sing nearly everyday. U watch he will sound better after a break. He's actuly trying
Should get a singer with a great voice, play guitar and throw in a few screams and some banter....make the show enjoyable for all. Can keep it going that way
I feel like he’s torn up his voice a little too much. Not the recording or anything, just a LOT of time spent singing. Too bad. And they should be tuning 1/2 step lower like a lot of the other guys out there: Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt, etc. I don’t think that ANY of these guys are ‘humiliating’ themselves. They’re doing what they love and still getting paid, while we work 40+ hrs a week... not always loving it. LoL
Great band but they needs a new vocalist. Blas Elías is back and he is doing a great job, better than the previous drummer Dana strum and Jeff Blando have a great chemistry. Once again anew vocalist please.
Dude Mark lay off the beers and get that voice back in shape. Maybe it was the sound at the place? Idk makes me sad to hear him this bad. I saw him when I was 14 years old with poison and bullet boys.
volumen a la voz. Todos los conciertos carecen de volumen a la voz. Que desastre de concierto. Mi banda preferida y solo se escucha un ruido feo y nada más
Stephen Pearcy and David Lee Roth come to mind also. Now, Michael Sweet (Stryper), Steve Whiteman (KIX), Gary Cherone (Extreme) and Axl Rose (G-N-R) are examples of GOOD vocal conditioning throughout the years.
Wow. His voice has declined a shit ton, but this is fully blown out. They should have canceled this show. This is embarrassing on a whole different level than just the other singers that have degraded.
It made me sad seeing this man and he hasn't sang well since the early 90s ... probably all about the money ... heartbreaking!! He should take some lessons and build it up again!!
Mark Slaughter is an amazing talent. Just because his instrument is a voicebox and not a replaceable instrument like a guitar...show some respect people. He still hits some crazy notes.
Can you timestamp some of those crazy notes? I had to turn it off. Not out of disrespect, but sadness. It's just depressing. I hate getting old.

Facts!!
Outstanding! Two of the 4 VVI guys still crackin' it out. Both Dana and Mark deserve all the success in the world.
3 of the 4. Bobby Rock has never taken a break. He’s been Lita Ford’s drummer forever now.
Straight to my most beautiful memories... the 90’s rock !!!!
I am so impressed these guys still have the magic after 30 fucking years
One of my favorite singers in his prime...MTV unplugged fly to the angels sitting on a stool sang it effortlessly ✌
How cool that he takes pics with fans. I took one with him when I was 20 yrs old. We were both babies.

Mark still rocks!! He NEVER phones it in always a good time!!
Let’s see one of you get up there and scream some power chords. Nothin but respect for him doing this In his 50s for the fans ✊🏻

well i think vocalist who still has the same voice quality when they were on the top is joey tempest, michael sweet, steve perry
dont forget dave meniketi ( sorry prob mis spelled his name
Steve Perry has degraded badly
Not these days

Poor Mark he was one of the most talented singers, that really sucks 😞
Little known fact: The Vice Lords street gang was founded in the late 50s at a juvenile correctional center in St. Charles, IL. Now on with the show.
Forever❤
Good God!!! Dana you have been my inspiration to play bass. YOU ARE A FUCKING MONSTER!!!!!

So sad to see his voice has really deteriorated. But to be fair he really pushed his vocals hard in the early years.
Probably could just lower the keys to the songs and not sing so high.
I used to be this dudes neighbor! So insane haha

I wish I hadn't clicked this.
Loved his music from my highschool days . His vocal range was amazing . Still listen to it. But ..WOW . This is just sad . :(
Sad and not do so good on the vocals , but I still like slaughter and wish them well
His lower register isn't bad. If he took care of it his voice with a routine and some tea, he would probably sound good if they tuned a little lower.
Mark!.... Don't try to shred! LOl Lov ya
Sounded better at the show much better

Thank God they got rid of that annoying circus sideshow drummer.
great band aweful vocals, why has Blas come back when Marks voice is shot?
Because he has a lot of break from TSO until nov..and M.S. and Dana offered him the gig to make some bucks.
That's not Blas That's Will Hunter drummer for Evenessance.
