Yes guys, absolutely make sure the oil drain line has a straight shot that's as straight down as possible to the oil pan. I actually used to use a -4AN feed line with a restrictor and a -10AN drain line with as little turns as possible to drain the turbo. I got over 40,000 miles out of a $115 eBay turbo at 15 lbs of boost. I made 412 whp at 15 psi on my cammed B18B1 in my 97 Civic coupe and it was still working just fine. I sold it to a buddy who put it on his LSVTEC EG Civic hatch and he must've messed up on the wastegate or boost controller because it made over 30 psi and blew up his engine on the first pull. I don't know what he screwed up, but he obviously missed something.
So glad that I found this channel, it's so rare to find such a fun, skilled, and authentic group of guys on RUclips anymore I'm always shocked when I don't see hundreds of thousands of views on your videos, I don't think it'll be long until I do, but it just goes to show that views are NOT a measure of quality
I really like this channel. It's exactly the kind of car RUclips I enjoy. People working on cars that anyone could own with their friends. It doesn't have to be high budget spectacle videos. Let's just make this hunk of shit work, make it better and have a good time doing it. I'm finding it harder and harder to find independent channels doing this kind of stuff.
The coil ht lead to the distributor was arcing out against the inlet piping / BOV. Might be worth a new set of leads? Shows in the video just before you worked out that the leads were on the dizzy in the wrong order.
1:07 in.. do you guys have the same problem as tavarish’s P1? He had to change the banjo fitting on the oil feed side to the turbo to one with a smaller inner bore to restrict oil flow. You guys have one of the best vibes going currently for car videos, please keep em coming!!
When these Boys did their supposed "Fly by" 😂 it reminded me of the story of how the true American Car culture was born. Just some WW2 boys when they left the service brought with them the skills they learned and it became their hobby, and so the Hotrod culture was born...a few friends a garage, Military skills, determination, and a need for speed and thrill the smell of Gasoline and burnt oil and the rest was History... ☝🏻💪🏻💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 😂
I love this channel so far! Also, i love when people aren't afraid to admit when they don't know something. There's not enough of that in the world. Even if making a guess, just say so, you know?
they were just saying that if you have oil backup the drain line, it causes excess pressure on the seal and will blow the seal. The high pressure line is still normal high pressure.
So with those cheap Chinese turbos the best thing that you can do is to use a -4AN braided feed line with a 1/8" restrictor. You should use a -10AN braided drain hose that is pointed straight down to the oil pan, no kinks, no turns, just straight down to the oil pan, or the oil will back up in the drain line and it will destroy the seals in the turbo. I've made some good power with those cheap Chinese turbos, you just have to know what they like and don't like and 9 out of 10 will last a decent amount of time and be reliable. Their biggest issues are the seals and the balancing.
So basically what they're saying is that the oil drain hose has to be as straight of a shot to the oil pan as possible, but they're not actually regulating oil pressure to the turbo, just keeping it from backing up in the drain hose.
We read every comment! All of us have our own accounts that are not linked to the main channel. We have it setup that way so that all of us can comment independently
The worst filming I have seen. Blurry and jerking around non-stop. If every video they make is this bad comments must have told them before. Only reason I watched it is I had 3 Chevy LUV trucks including a 1972.

Pulled my pants down, clicked the video and I’m terrified
Should clear up with some antibiotics, you'll be fine.😂
Love the videos, you guys are my favorite I’ve found in a long time.
Thanks for that! We appreciate the support😊
50:50 The coil was arcing on the intake tube
And I bet the arrow on the distributor is the direction to advance timing
im glad i wasn't the only one who seen that actually i heard it then seen it
It was only doing it when the plug wire from the cap to the plugs were unplugged. We ordered new plug wires anyway.
So glad that I found this channel, it's so rare to find such a fun, skilled, and authentic group of guys on RUclips anymore

fuck yeah. been waiting for this one!
Thanks for watching!
"We look at it and decide if it's correct or not. We'll be the judge of that"
😂😂😂
Thank you for that fuse box tutorial! I was about to rip out all the old wires from my datsun 620, not anymore!
For sure! Thanks for watching

Bring the luv to the dragon!
Good idea!
Yess!!! Finally showing some love to the Luv!! Love this channel!! 🤘🏽

Shows in the video just before you worked out that the leads were on the dizzy in the wrong order.
Your right! It was only doing it when we unplugged the wires to cylinder 2 and 3 while it was running but new plug wires are on the way.
the editing on this one was really good, the livestream footage was integrated well too

Thats awesome to hear, thanks!
I think this is my new favorite RUclips channel
i think it would be pretty cool if we got a q and a video of you guys!
I have an 81 Luv and have been toying with turboing it as well. Great vid!!
Unbelievably good content guys I personally love the long form videos. Keep it up
Oh yeah I made it in the video at the end 🤘🏼
This video was a wild ride, loved it!
This is what I've been waiting for
🎉

Some of my favorite smells!
I'm pre order bonus early 😩
Only the coolest get these first 😎😉
Loving all the content, but missed hanging with you guys this week. Not sure if you did stream or not but either way you guys are doing great
Thank you, much ❤!
I love seeing the coil short out to the charge pipe
Clean AN lines out after cutting them. Crazy amount of debris inside those from cutting.
Alternator is internally regulated. Most older ones are externally regulated which is why there is a separate voltage regulator.
I love this channel so far!
Also, i love when people aren't afraid to admit when they don't know something. There's not enough of that in the world. Even if making a guess, just say so, you know?
HELL YES.
Now a new clutch and let's get some 0-60s and 1/4 miles:) maybe some doors lol
@@RyleyMoVaughn thats the plan.
Time to go efi! Plazmaman makes a port injection Intake too for these !
Ngl got little uncomfortable when ya looked me dead in the eyes and said orifice. Also love the VHS style intro.
How do you control oil flow to a turbo?
they were just saying that if you have oil backup the drain line, it causes excess pressure on the seal and will blow the seal. The high pressure line is still normal high pressure.

Yes exactly! We learned that one the hard way. Actually I did. John told me my oil return line wouldn’t work from the beginning. 😂
Thats sick af boys
Thank you!
Doors off for easier access or doors off for quicker exit in case of fire? Definitely a win/win.
At 50:59 you can watch spark grounding from the coil to the charge pipe
Jist be careful guys, bigger wire, bigger fuse means bigger fire 👌
In Thailand they love these little Isuzu motors. The Diesel units make mad power with Forced Induction.
That luv is gonna be quick lol hope you can find some doors thanks for the wiring how to seems like it was easy
Not too complicated if you break it down into chunks. Thanks for watching!
You guys should do an off-road build series.
Was that a fkn donald trump impression saying "the price of clamps will come down" LMFAO that was a great impression!
Yup😂😂😂
@@AWA-Scotty absolutely kacked it when I realised HAHAHAHA
Anyone else notice that coil arcing off the intake pipe at 50:58 ?
If you run the hole saw in reverse at first for a minute to score the hole then youll have a path for your saw. If your using the right kind of saw.
Calling me out for sitting on the toilet.....I feel so exposed. Boy that demographic data sure is pinpoint these days.
😂
You need to restrictor for the oil feed lime
There is one built into the flange on the turbo we are using. Good thing to check into though. Thank you for the comment!
what happened to the doors?
The turbo blew them off, jk~We sent them out for lettering.
coil wire is grounding to metal turbo charge pipe, mount coil so wire doesnt touch the metal pipe and arc out to ground
27:50 with the e-brake pulled??? 😧
Collad with Puddin's Fab Shop in order - chevy LUV drag race
👇Petition to name it the McLUVin
😂 good one!
an ad played right as the backfire happened, woke me up real quick
Someone should definitely efi it with their a holley or fitech
I agree that would be more efficient and easier. But we have done that before and have never done a blow through set up.
@ I’ll have to check it out, love the content especially the Tail of the Dragon series
Dude how you know I was on the toilet 😂
Advancements in modern technology. 😂
Why couldn’t the lenses look at eachother? 😂
How you know I was on the toilet?
My Chevy luv broke down constantly so I got a Ford ranger lol it breaks down too
you need a new carburator. That one is not big enough.
You may be right.
damn im early early
🫡 quick with it!
With their small viewership, they don't even read comments. Thats no way to comment section Tisk tisk😂 it's like fug you too😂

I am 100% on the toilet rn
If the Thai can get 4 turbos on that engine y’all should be able to get one 😂🫡
