Great video. I'm still waiting on some Trybosis 3203 lube to arrive and to lube them. But, after testing a few of the switches in a switch tester I do feel they are worth the hype. Too bad Drop did not keep the price from the first run. Early adopters had a chance to get them at a slightly lower price.
Do u already had the chance to compare the HP to the Purple Zealios V2 ? Would be very interisting to know, because I want to get my hands on one of them and I'm not sure which one would be the better option for me...
I used to crack out on soldering my own MK's and spent far too much. But it's a hobby, all hobbies I like are super expensive. I finally sold all my switches and boards then watch this... the itch is there again. But I think I settled on keyboards I like. lubed cherry mx silents. Works well with my arthritis too.
Well timed. Just the info I was looking for. I just got the Hako Clears, but now I'm wondering what the difference is between these, Halo Clears, and Hako Royal Clears. They're certainly harder on the fingers than I expected, and the bump is very strange.
Got the holy pandas on the first massdrop run, never had a tactile switch before so this was my first. Previous switches I had typed on are: (Bluetooth TKL keyboard, forgot the name) Outemu blues (hurt my fingers after 3 months or so, extremely clicky, I started feeling this metal reverberation all through my claws, not for me in the long run) (Steelseries G6v2) Cherry MX black pre tooled (heavier but linear, typed on it for about 3 months as well and it confirmed my hate for linear switches) (Havit full sized & TKL board) small profile switches clicky (light click, actually a pretty good keyboard. The small profile means the keypress is done quickly and the soft click of the switch is the icing on the cake. But this one not for me either, I am a heavier typer and do like hitting my keys with 'HULK SMASH' ferocity, you don't get that satisfying feeling of ramming your keys with a small profile switch. Unknown Chinese keyboard with unknown blue clicky switches (the less said about this horror the better) IBM Model M in mint condition, never been used. Just love having this one. Corsair K95 platinum with speed switches. Absolutely love this high quality top of the line keyboard. TOTALLY LOATH the speed sswitches. Too bad the inverted L enter key has gone out of fashion, if the K95 would have it it would be almost perfect. And then... out of keyboard Valhalla came upon us a weapon most holy in the quest against rotten switches... HOLY FRICKIN' PANDAS!!!! Absolutely love these pre-lubed and all, don't give a crap, they are that good to type on. That sound alone! It's like rain falling against my window or something. It's soooooooo sooooooothing!!! When I get more holy pandas I'll rip the speed switch out of my K95's guts, solder in the holy pandas and start enjoying the bliss that is holy panda nirvana...
I like Corsair keyboards but that non-standard bottom row hurts. So many keycaps would go so well with that aluminum frame. Regardless, since you love it, definitely pull out the switches for the HP. That sounds like an awesome project.
I’m just recently diving deeper into the mechanical keyboard community. I also have not tried a very wide variety of switches, but I’ve found that sound matters a LOT to me. From listening to the typing test, I think the halo clears sound better. Ideally I want to try both of them at some point though.
It was definitely worth the hype. I picked up 220 switches for my Kira at work and generic GK84 at home. I paired the Kira with DSA keycaps and GK84 with PBT SA profile. Sound better on SA profile but it was worth.
I have some of these Drop Holy Pandas as well. I think I may be lucky, as my batch wasn’t over lubed. If anything, they were under lubed (barely lubed at all) and a bit scratchy. I ended up lubing mine with 3203. I’m really enjoying them so far. They’re not too heavy , and tactility is very noticeable but not harsh. They sound absolutely amazing. They are a little loose, but not to the point that it’s distracting. I’m really happy with them. I think most people would be too.
So right now, I have like 3 videos I want to get out including a "how to clean lube off HP" so the Zealios will be out after that. RUclips is hard man! haaha but I promise it is coming.
These HPs have been a bit of a nightmare for a lube servicer such as myself. I've had to clean the stems by hand, and have gone through with a dry brush getting rid of as much lube in the housing as I can, as I don't have a sonic cleaner. Once they are cleaned and lubed properly, though, they're pretty much as good as any OG HP I've tried.
Very helpful review. Just getting into the mech game and looking to get these for my build. Info was clear and concise. B-roll not too shabby either ;)
Hi I bought some HP from a guy on /r mm The housing colours were lighter than the Original patch v1 I have, is this what you found? They are a shade whiter

The Zelios V2s have a very pleasurable and smooth tactility but these Holy Pandas are just superbly well-balanced.
Hi, could you do a video about “How to clean overlubed HP switches”? I think that’s many people want to see ^^,especially about lube on stem, housing, and metal leaf
I am very hesitant to pick these up. I have the drop CTRL with halo clears and have gone through 4-5 replacement switches in a few months. Drop was nice enough to send me replacement ones for free, however, the durability didn't hold up.
My bad, I should have explained that or at least removed onw of the lines. There are two lines because one represents the action of pressing the switch, the other is during release.
I wouldn't just say the quality of this video is on par with RUclipsrs like randomfrankp or Dave Lee. It's better. You deserve many more subscribers and I have a feeling that wish will come true very, very soon.
If you're taking the lightning bolt. The one I have is through Amazon from a company called Vasten but it doesn't look like they have it for sell any more. The closest I could was this amzn.to/2QcF4cm. Looks significantly smaller though. If you're talking about the normal lamp on the left, Target.
Does anybody know if the second run is lubed or not? It feels as though the stem and housing make more contact compared to the box white but the plastic to plastic contact is very smooth. Being a novice I'd rather not open them up yet.
where does the tactile bump start on these? having used mx browns for a long time (genuinely really like browns and wish there was a silenced version), then building a board with v2 zilents and really disliking the fact that the bump begins the moment you touch the switch, I'm back on the hunt for something new
Great video. I'm looking at either buying a keeb in the $150-200 range or building one in the $200 range. Seems impossible do build for $200 and get good components... Any suggestions?
Here are some ideas: Building: kbdfans dz60rgb. Tons of options on cases, plates, and switches to keep prices low or go all out. Pre-built at ~200: drop alt/ctrl. Solid, accessible, easy to set up. If you get these with Halo switches, it'd be easy to get yok pandas and make trash pandas. Pre-built sub 100: I recent picked up the Anne pro 2. I'm really enjoying this keyboard atm.

Hey Sir, just came across your video today and I would like to say thank you for such great content and clear explanation of the differences among Halo Clears and Cherry Browns. I could not find your contact method so I'll just ask here: is it possible for me to translate this article into Chinese and share it with the Chinese keyboard enthusiasts? I haven't made a video for it yet but I've decided that I prefer the holy pandas. I like how the bump is slightly lower down on the pandas where it's right at the top on the Zealios.
Did you clean up the lube? Or did you leave it the way it was? I also picked up some yok panda minds from Noval and some halo trues to make my own but the yok ships until October so I picked these up for the mean time if you did clean the lube off what did you use to clean them off?
Did you clean up the lube? Not yet. I have a sonic cleaner for 3d printer so the game plan is to use that to clean off the switches. I also picked up some yok panda... Nice! I picked up a set of the reds Pandas to use with the Halo Clears I pulled off the Alt keyboard.
JTTR oh Forsure what’s the cleaner called ? Because I’ve been hearing a lot of bad things about the lube lol I wouldn’t do it but October is a whiles away lol nice I was thinking of getting the reds but went with the mints lol
@@Brianfwdslash Dang, now you got me looking at the mints again. I got a cheapo sonic cleaner from Harbor Freight though Amazon might be your best bet depending on your region.
JTTR lol yea the mints are nice I wanted to go for the red to but that’s to much lol I like the mints a bit more they pop more lol I heard that it had to be a certain cleaner cuz it could damage the life of the switch or something like that lol

Would you know the actuation point for the switch?
That intro was fire
I am building my first custom mechanical keyboard and I finally have my dream switch
Nice! What keyboard are you building.
He didn’t respond :((
loving that cowboy bebop remix
are they good for live streams
