Always a pleasure listening to Sir Ian Smith. He creates magic with his voice. Probably the last of few golden commentators who are left. Don't see this kind of passion in this generation of commentators.
Surprisingly pitches in India for last bangladesh test & recent England series were more pacey & less spinny compared to previous pitches in india. So NZ have to be ready.
thats limited to Madras.. the curator at Chepauk has been travelling to Australia England New Zealand etc to learn about the pitches overseas and has sort of taken his learnings & influences and implemented it into the curation of the pitch for the Bangladesh match... Bangalore will be a different story!
opponents will be out for 40 and 20! ashwin, jadeja, kuldeep, askar are good enough if you provide a rank turner. test match will be over in a day! i kid you not! this is much much better.
@@teebone25 WRONG. THE PITCHES AT CHEPAUK HAS BEEN SAME ALL THE TIME SINCE 1980S. THE TIE TEST, TENDULKARS SERIES, SHEWAG WON THE MATCH CHASING AND ANOTHER ONE RAINED OUT, LAKSHMAN CHASED IN CHEPAUK OR SOMETHING 9 TH N 10 TH WICKET AND IT WAS SIMILAR. DID THE CURATOR TRAVEL TO THOSE PLACES EVEN THEN? IT HAS BEEN THE SAME, SO IT HAS NOT MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. THE PITCHES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FAIR. @@teebone25 Chennai has rarely been a 100% spin track except 2-3 matches Ashwin has clearly said that bounce was always a part of Chennai pitches. Also mind u the high temperature in September this year is something happening after many decades since its typically the start of cool period with rains. So that also helped change the surface.
I had the priveliege of travelling with Ian Smith in 1997 from NZ to Singapore. Good to see him hale and hearty. I remember he was asking me about Rathore and Dravid who were then new on the scene.
Not a big fan of designing cricket pitches or any Asian pitches generally being spinning dustbowls, thus the Chennai pitch was a breath of fresh air. Yes, subcontinental players are comparatively smaller and do not posses extreme pace (minus Pakistan off and on) but India has a good pace attack as an example, so make it worthwhile for the rest of the world to tune in to a series in Asia owing to competitivness. Sports is not just about your team winning at any cost...it is about loving the sport.
Richard Hadley, Martin Crowe, Shane Bond, Brendan Mcullum, Ross Taylor, Trent Boult, Kane Williamson have been absolutely world class cricketers from New Zealand, and hopefully Rachin Ravindra will be a future superstar
That was very good... informative, intelligent and insightful. One of the better cricket podcasts doing the rounds. He talks a lot of common sense does Ian Smith.
Smithie suggesting dustbowls in India when NZL come calling! Rest assured that dustbowls will not be provided. Firstly they'll have to deal with Bumrah & Co. Ashwin,Jadeja will be on later..
Rishu has the potential to surpass Gilly as greatest wicketkeeper batter ever but for that he has to control his racklessness approach during the game.👍
Rishab doesn't need to do anything and should continue to play in Same manner, even Gilchrist was reckless in his approach Pant has the ability to surprass gilli but only in test cricket
Anyone who knows cricket are aware that Pant's idol since academy days has always been Gilchrist but some media folks and fans of MS Dhoni who earlier hated him now try to portray Dhoni as the one 😂
You’re watching a video of two people from the UK and one from New Zealand. Their references and memories reflect that. Imagine how ridiculous it would sound if I commented on an Indian video about middle order players ‘why don’t these Indian racists talk about Graham Thorpe and Roger Twose as much as I do?’ Stop being so insecure.

thats because its not Aus touring - if a dangerous team tours, the wickets start turning square day 1

The best commentator from the old school...one of my all time favourites.... Love n respect from 🇮🇳
Ian Smith's commentary is goldmine, so pleasing to ears...Reminds me of Tony Greig's commentary back in those days.

Not a nation for heroes but then why Sir pray? Refuse the knighthood. It has no relevance today
Not sure....
Rishab can be compared to Gilchrist for batting but not keeping.
Rishab Pant is not test class keeper
He is just 25 or 26 .. need to consider it. Although , he always tries to improve his skills.

Why white guys forget about players like shewag, Srikant whenever playing aggressive cricket comes in to discussion? 16:20
Why do you want them to think as you do ?

They speak as if they never saw Shewag ... Only bowlers who bowled him know how impactful he is 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
