You're in a South Indian restaurant as you can see that the main thing there is Rice if it's North Indian they would have more bread options than Rice, and For us Curd rice/ Yogurt Rice is a finisher, i mean south indian meal isn't complete without Curd Rice.
My husband and I discovered Indian food about 20 years ago and eat it often ever since. We love ordering off menu and buffets. I even have some Indian cookbooks and shop in their markets sometimes. The rice is basmati rice often which I absolutely love. The carrot dish is a dessert. If you ever see coconut soup on an indian menu I highly suggest you try it. Also you must try the different chicken and fish dishes from the tandoori oven which are all delicious. Also their breads are phenomenal. Two of my favorites are peshwari naan which is sweet stuffed with coconut and kashmiri naan with candied fruits and savory spices.
If ever back in the Red Bank area there is a Fantastic highly rated Indian Restaurant in Eatontown on Route 35 called MAUKA. I personally eat there twice per month. I love their Goat, lamb, Chicken, fish selections are all super tasty. Get the LOWEST spice level!!
In the future, Definitely ask the Servers about the *Spice Levels of each selection. Can't go wrong with the Chicken Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken. The sauces on so many of the dishes are delicious by themselves.
These guys are so not PC, SO innocent, I'm loving how they are dealing with this food. I can promise it will get them in the end. Seriously the food looks delicious!!!!
No I wasn’t in the service or anything like that, it was just personal travel/adventure and curiosity of other cultures. The right Perspective can shape your mind and ultimately help you see your life in the correct light… lol anyhow enough Vacay-j philosophy for one day! Thanks for watching and commenting
That carrot dish was indeed a dessert to be eaten at the end , not the beginning...and yes, indian rice is different to east asian sticky rice... Especially in dishes like biriyani.
Hey PoP Va-Ca-Ja, great job by you for telling SoN Va-Ca-Ja to stop shouting "STUFF" numerous times in these food outings. You almost reprimanded him to STOP and use the word "ENTRE" which is infinitely more appropriate and professional. So ^HigH^ praise to you PoP Va-Ca-Ja and we now totally forgive you for double and sometimes triple dipping food into the sauces. Keep on keeping on booby ! 🗣️🔍. -- 👌
Cafe India, Morristown, for the weekday lunch buffet will be a definite highlight. Be sure to arrive at 1:15 pm for maximum enjoyment- as 11am to 1 can be crowded. Get a booth - order indian tea ( no sugar, no milk) to enhance the experience.
Speaking of Robbinsville, let's try to settle the debate on the Best Tomato Pie! Is it DeLorenzo' s or Papa's?? Both in Robbinsville. I've had both and they're BOTH delicious. My vote goes to.... I'll wait for you to decide! 😊
No it's Cottage Cheese, tofu is different, Paneer is a Milk product, Boil Full Fat Milk and Add lemon juice and it spilts into curds, pour all of the Curds into Cheese cloth and hang somewhere to Drain all the Whey and press into desirable shapes and enjoy.
@naninani1549 yes correct. It does look similar but Pander is softer, creamer. They do use Paneer + Tofu in some of the same sauces, dishes at a few of my local Indian restaurants. Tofu is Soy based usually firmer

The meats are grilled in a unique clay oven along with the breads
The vegetarian options: eggplant, chickpeas, spinach are very popular
Many spots offer Indo-Chinese options

@mauditebalvenie it's pretty darn good!
You started with desert! Lol
Vacay-J-D is totally out of his comfort zone. He needs to be open to trying everything
Basmati Rice
Vjay D..Oriental is a rug not a nationality. Go with Asian.😊
I work in Paterson. Great diversity there. 21st Ave is the Colombian Corridor Then there a Turkish section. You will never taste better food anywhere.
Paneer is Tofu
