Fun fact 1: Hanne Krogh (Bobbysocks) is one of the songwriters of the Norwegian entry. Fun fact 2: Gary Lux is back again for Austria. It's his 4th participation in 5 years. As part of Westend in 1983, backing vocals in 1984 and solo in 1985 and 1987. Sweden, Sweden, Sweden. Melodifestivalen 1987 had many good songs but the jury chose Fyra Bugg och en Coca Cola. They had to change to titel to Boogaloo. My top 4 in Melodifestivalen: 1. Lena Philipsson - Dansa i Neon (it would probably have been the best choise) 2. Arja Saijonmaa - Högt över havet (lost the final by 1 point. There's a reason why this song is so loved in Sweden and why it got chosen to the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame in 2022. Arja also got to perform the song in the final in 2022). 3. Cyndee Peters - När morgonstjärnan brinner (I love her gospel voice). 4. Sound of Music - Alexandra (If you really know Melodifestivalen then I only have to say 1 word, Nanne) My ESC top 12. 1. Ireland 2. Italy 3. Belgium 4. Finland 5. Israel 6. Türkiye 7. Netherlands 8. Cyprus 9. Yugoslavia 10. Luxembourg 11. Iceland 12. Germany

Ah, you gotta love the 80s hair and clothes . This was only my 3rd year i had watched eurovision, but probably the one that made me fall in love with it all. I absolutely adore the winner and was so glad Ireland won. Hold me now. continues to be my favourite eurovision song EVER. X
