- The choir of Westminster Abbey sing Charles Villiers Stanford's beautiful anthem Beati Quorum Via whilst national church leaders take their seats before a service of Evening Prayer for Pope Benedict.
Beati quorum via integra est,
qui ambulant in lege Domini.
Blessed are they whose way is blameless ,
who follow the law of the Lord.

Very revealing to hear it again after so many years. All the time I sang it in cathedral choirs, I loved it as a Stanford gem, but I now realise there is much Bruckner (motets) and Mendelssohn - the return to main theme after the still passage in the middle is from the Octet, and the final cadence could have been the final cadence of Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, but he veered away after setting it up! Excellent, well-blended performance. The Abbey is very good under this choirmaster.
Those basses were impressive... Especially on their own during the 'in lege'. That's a tough part to do, and they pulled it off brilliantly.
The part 'in lege' is sung by tenors on their own, not basses
My choir sang this last Sunday. Oh, I adore this piece of music!

I can't find them singing that anthem during this service. You can find the order of service on Westminster Abbey's website.

@drwestbury I think it was after the Papal Mass @ West Minister Abbey. I saw it on some vatican website, but they took it off.
